25.01.2022 We have limited stock of 4 & 2 packs of toilet paper at the moment. Please be understanding of the fact that we cannot be as low in price as the major chains. We are a small, independent corner store & we cant even buy our supplies at the same price the big boys sell theirs for. ... We can promise you this though - we will NEVER raise our prices when demand increases. Thats not Goldfields & thats certainly not us. In fact for the time being we will discount toilet paper 20% to try & help out at this time. Please note - there will be a 8 roll limit per customer to be fair to all.

12.01.2022 Last month Teresa & I were so moved & upset by the conversations we were having with some customers & friends about how the Corona Virus shutdowns had financially affected them (or those they knew) in such drastic & worrying ways. We decided that The Carbarn Shop would (over April & May) give away a total of $2000 cash in 20 x $100 lots to Kalgoorlie-Boulder residents doing it tough. And through the amazing generosity of others in this wonderful community, we were given an...other $1600 to add to that to make it a total of $3600. In April we gave away $1400 & now we are asking for your help to PRIVATELY message us the names of people you know that could desperately use a $100 boost right now. 10.01.2022 So this is the face of bravery.......(she is ok with us posting the pic, but wants her name omitted.) Yesterday she was minding her own business driving along & suddenly saw a group of people carrying baseball bats & iron bars pile out of cars & go running through the front door of our shop. She doesnt know us, she didnt know what was going to happen. And yet she turned back to help & see if we were ok. ... Her calming influence & assistance at an immensely frightening moment was/is so appreciated by Teresa & myself. Thank you so much!! (And of course thank you so much to the police officers & ambos who attended....& came back today to see how we were). Above & beyond

Teresa & I started off with the idea of giving away $2000......but due to some amazing generosity of people in this community (who wish to remain anonymous) that was doubled to $4000. This allowed us to give out $100 cash to 40!!! individuals/families here in the Goldfields. ... Its not much, but hopefully it helped with something to ease the pressure or even just to put a smile on their face for a moment in these challenging times. Tonight we were able to let 15 people know that they were getting $100 cash each. Thank you to those who donated also. Dealing with the public, Teresa & I get to speak to a lot of people (from a distance at the moment ). This past week has been incredibly tough for so many that we know. What can you say when a friend tells you their job no longer exists, or someone you know has had to temporarily (& maybe forever) close their business? Your first instinct is to give them a great big hug. We are not able to do that right now, but we can do something....... Teresa & I know harder times are coming soon for us too, but we will worry about that when it arrives - for now we want and need to help others. 02.01.2022 Like everyone, we are learning & adapting as the current situation develops. We have implemented even more stringent cleaning procedures for both staff & customers health & safety. This includes cleaning counter tops, eftpos machines, fridge door handles etc every chance possible. Staff are using both the hand sanitising & soap & hot water methods as advised. ... We have placed personal space markers at the counter area & are working on an even better solution that should be in place shortly. We are open & ready to help. If you are unfamiliar with our shop, we are both a newsagency & a general store.
