20.01.2022 Our Story Australia’s landscapes and the flora and fauna that they support are being impacted by climate change. Australia’s natural values have historically coped with extreme changes to the environment, but in the past almost 250 years, we have modified our landscapes to a point that it cannot bounce back and the timeframes we allowed our environment to adapt to a changing climate are inadequate. Government policies and the funding to address these issues are not enough and... we do not have time to wait for these to align to what is needed. Our purpose is to restore, enhance and protect Australia’s landscapes to a changing climate, through direct action and investment. We will achieve this through co-designing climate adaptive projects with our partners, investing in applied research to support our work and establishing relationships between those who want to help Australia’s landscapes and its native flora and fauna. We will work with our farmers, rural communities and traditional owners to develop local solutions and implement projects that address climate change at a landscape scale. Carbon Landscapes has already secured over 2,500 hectares across Victoria to help achieve our vision and many of these properties have projects underway. We have established partnerships with many of Australia’s leading environmental organisations, community groups and research institutions. Our partnerships are re-establishing natural resource management in Australia. Our funding is sourced from a combination of both government and private investment and is being informed by evidence-based decision making that is underpinned by the latest science and local-based knowledge.

12.01.2022 We were excited last week to take reps from the Odonata team on a tour of our Stony Rises Rewilding Project. We are working with Odonata to reintroduce threatened species into the landscape and ensure that special areas like the Stony Rises become strongholds for our native wildlife, as they adapt to a changing climate. 12.01.2022 Carbon Landscapes is excited to announce that it has purchased over 90 hectares of land adjacent to the Grampians National Park, to begin its first stage of its Gariwerd Restoration Project. Surrounded by three sides of the Park, this ex-bluegum plantation, with existing ephemeral wetlands and patches of remnant vegetation, will be restored back to its original vegetation type to bring back native mammal species such as the endangered Long-nosed Potoroo, Brush-tailed Rock Wa...llaby and Eastern-barred Bandicoot. This exciting project will be done in partnership with Odonata, Parks Victoria and the Natural Glenelg Trust. Find out more about this project at http://carbonlandscapes.com.au/gariwerdrestorationproject/

12.01.2022 Walking around one of our Strzelecki projects today. I was reminded of the role of our bushfire bunker builders the humble wombat. Each wombat lives in up to 14 burrows and each burrow can provide refuge for many small mammals when a fire front passes through. #carbonlandscapes
