24.01.2022 Hi all training technique tomorrow will be running. If you would like some pointers on how to run correctly, starts (without blocks) and taking the bends then please come along. It will start at 5.30pm until 6.30pm.

24.01.2022 Once you've registered via the LANSW portal, you can attend a registration day at Neegulbah Park to collect your athlete numbers and sponsor badges. We'll be at the park between 2 and 5pm this Sunday 13th and also Sunday 20th Sep. You must have registered prior to attending. Full details on our website https://www.cardifflittleathletics.org.au/ For those that couldn't make the presentation collection back in March, we'll also have medallions and trophies for you. To keep Covid safe, we will have a table that you will need to sanitise and sign in when you arrive (set up near the canteen). Please only come in this way. We will have our covid official there to help guide you with anything you need

22.01.2022 CANTEEN!!!! Please don't forget our canteen this year. While we will be promoting "get in, play, get out" as per Covid safety guidelines, we would be very much appreciative as a club if you could still support the canteen and grab your dinner/drinks/treats before leaving. The canteen is the only fundraising we do for the club (along with the blue Vinnies bins for empty drinks) - this pays for presentation day at the end of the year, and helps keep the club running for your ...kids to enjoy. We will still be accepting cash, though have the square for EFTPOS as well that you can use. So you can still get your sausage/steak/egg and bacon sandwich - enjoy the Friday night with your kids, then no worries about having to get home and still cook!!! On another note with the canteen, this will be Cassandra's last year with the club as her son finishes at the end of this season - if there is a likeminded person who would love to continue the running of the canteen, we would love your help!! Please consider if this is something you would like to do - with the help and support of fellow committee members at all times, it is not really a big job. See more

22.01.2022 Don't forget!! Once you have registered - we need you to sign on for a job!!! We used the volunteer registration form initially to gauge the level of help we would have to be able to be approved to safely run the season. Now that registrations are open and we have athletes ready to go - we have organised "signup". This will allow you to pick your job on the night/s you are available (ie if you are away next week and obviously can't help, you aren't tied to that particular job all season). Of note - while we have all the age groups down individually - ie U6 boys, U6 girls, etc - this very well may change due to numbers in an age (we may combine boys and girls in some ages, or we may combine some age groups if not enough to run safely). https://signup.com//invi/secure/8070183384297720120/false

20.01.2022 Great News Cardiff Little A’s have been successful in receiving a grant from Coles to purchase Marquee’s for our clubs use. Thank you Lyndal Day for your excellent application and to Coles Supermarkets for your continued sponsorship.

20.01.2022 Evening all! While we will post a combined info post before the first night, will aim to post bits of info along the way. First up for today - all athletes will need their own bag/backpack this year. We will not be using the age baskets for drink bottles, etc so they will need to carry these themselves.

19.01.2022 For any of our athletes who are currently in high school, time is running out to enter this years NSW All Schools Championships. Entries close at 10am Wednesday (25/11). We encourage as many athletes to participate in this event as possible as it is open to any athlete of all abilities.

19.01.2022 Little Athletics NSW is hosting a series of fun skills clinics across NSW during the April school holidays. This is a great way to prepare for your school carn...ivals. For more information or to sign up today, visit: https://lansw.com.au/coaching-camps-clinics/

19.01.2022 Happy training day all. Remember that training this week is concentrating on long distance running. Starts at 5.30pm to 6.30pm this afternoon. Hope see you all there.

19.01.2022 Hi all sorry the grounds are too wet for training today.Hi all sorry the grounds are too wet for training today.

18.01.2022 Don't forget!!! We need you to utilise "signup" to pop your name down for a job. We advertised before allowing registrations to become live that we would need all hands on deck this season to abide by our Covid safe plan, which we had to submit to LANSW for approval to commence the season. So far, we have had very few people signup. While our preferred option is you being able to choose which role would suit you best each week you are available, on the night, any roles not... filled, will need to be handed out as you arrive. No one can come on to the field without having come through the sign on gate, and having a job. If there are age groups without enough age marshalls to run safely, these ages will unfortunately have to sit out for the night, as we have to comply with Covid safety rules. If you are worried about what to do if you haven't done a particular job before, we have many committee members or fellow parents around who are more than happy to help you out. With recent changes announced last week, we now can allow two parents to attend (yay!) At this stage, we are keeping the sign up page as is, however, we will more than likely be combining the boys and girls in each age group, and for the seniors, are looking at having 13-17 girls, then 13-17 boys go around together. Please use this time before the season starts to get your calendars out, check your availability each week and get signed on for those jobs - we look forward to the season commencing in less than two weeks!! https://signup.com//invi/secure/8070183384297720120/false See more

18.01.2022 LANSW Littles (U9-U12) State Qualifying details released. Check the qualifying marks and entry form on the centre website. www.cardifflittleathletics.org.au

18.01.2022 THE RESULTS ARE IN We'll be going ahead with option two based on the feedback provided. We're really looking forward to delivering this playground upgrade for N...eegulbah Park next year and greatly appreciate your input in deciding what it will look like and how it will be used. #lakemac -------------------------------------------------------------- Another playground improvement, another chance to have your say! The playground at Neegulbah Park, Macquarie Hills is set to receive an upgrade and once again we’re asking for your reactions to help us determine which design from the choices below to go ahead with. React with 'love' to choose the first option, or 'wow' to choose option two. A poll is also available on our Facebook and Instagram stories so make sure you check out the details and vote for your favourite by this Saturday 3 October (Facebook and Instagram polls only available for 24 hours) Option One Features: - Combination unit with climbing and sliding - Combo swing with all abilities net swing seat co-located with strap and infant seats - Inclusive Saucer - Large Spidergon net with bushwood posts - New accessible concrete ramps to playground - Existing timber stairs replaced with new concrete stairs - Existing table and concrete slab incorporated into design Option Two Features: - Rope spinner - Combination climber with slide - Accessible buggy rocker - Double bay swing with nest, toddler and strap seats - Adventure trail with log jump, rope traverse and alligator crossing - Existing timber stairs replaced with new concrete stairs - Existing table and concrete slab incorporated into design In relation to concerns about shade we would like the community to keep in mind that while we understand the importance of being sun smart when out and about it is not feasible to install and maintain shade sails across our 123 playgrounds throughout Lake Mac. We look to utilise the natural benefits of trees to provide shade as well as providing natural cooling for the surrounding environment. We further encourage the community to adopt the Cancer Council's Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide advice, and we design our playgrounds so they sit as far out of the sun as possible at the hottest part of the day. All our playgrounds are installed with soft fall ground covering. Soft fall comes in a variety of materials like wood chip and rubber matting. We tend to utilise a combination of the two due to feasibility, accessibility and user comfort. Before designing every playground installation in Lake Mac, a risk assessment is completed to determine the requirements of the playground, including fencing. Where it is deemed necessary fencing is included in a playground upgrade project. In addition to this we have a network of playgrounds across Lake Mac that are fenced to ensure equitable access to fenced playgrounds for people with personal circumstances which make this a requirement for playground use. To find one of our fenced playgrounds please use the playground finder on our website lm.city/playgroundnearyou We believe strongly in creating accessible shared spaces throughout Lake Mac. Where possible we implement accessible pathways and play equipment so residents and visitors of all abilities feel welcome, and are given the opportunity to play. Both options for Neegulbah Park detail inclusive and accessible equipment. Happy voting!

17.01.2022 Remember all 5.30pm is the start of the 1st competition night for the season. This will be a year like no other so keep your distance and keep safe. If you feel unwell at all please do not attend. See you all there.

17.01.2022 The lines are freshly marked, ready to go for Friday night!!!! Who’s ready??!!!

16.01.2022 and we all know how fun triple jump can be!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hKMpLUd6Yo

16.01.2022 Don't forget to pop your name down for Friday night. We are still extremely short of help for this coming week. So far we have no BBQ, no short track timers or recorders (some of our regulars are away this week, so we need these spots filled). While we know and appreciate everyone coming along each week and stepping up where needed, we do need a heads up for some roles, so we know whether we can work or not. If no BBQ helpers (we need two) there will be NO HOT FOOD. If no short track recorder or timers, there will be NO SHORT TRACK RACES. https://signup.com//invi/secure/8070183384297720120/false

16.01.2022 For anyone competing in XC.

16.01.2022 Hi all athletes and families, You should receive your emails from Little A's NSW over the coming days with your log in details to register. We will not be opening up registrations until we can confirm we have enough volunteers to run the season. We are going to need parent help and commitment more than ever this season to ensure we comply with Covid regulations. Below is a link to both our website (with information on registrations and the season) as well as the direct l...ink to the volunteer registration form. We urge everbody to fill this form out where you are willing to help. If we don't get enough helpers we will not be able to run either at all or specific age groups will not be open for rego. Also,as a parent, if you are not an official helper (either age marshall/covid assistant/timer etc) you will not be able to walk or follow the age group around on a Friday night. We will have a few designated spectator areas for this. We will NOT be opening our registration at this stage a. Due to the above helper issue b. As LANSW have said a no $$ return policy we are holding out as late as we can to make sure COVID doesn't change our ability to start. We will update you with exact date for rego and as we know more. PLEASE SELECT ALL OPTIONS YOU ARE ABLE TO HELP WITH, IE BBQ AND UNDER 7 AGE MARSHALL - ONCE WE KNOW WE HAVE ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS TO RUN THE SEASON - WE WILL BE RELEASING A CALENDAR FOR YOU TO SELECT YOUR DUTIES YOURSELF https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSdtyHZmHx04NGrCpp/viewform https://www.cardifflittleathletics.org.au/

16.01.2022 So slowly, slowly we are getting there!! Of note, we need these spots filled each and every week, so pop on over to the sign up website and grab them now. As you can see from the photos, for age groups we still need 1 x tiny tots helper, 2 x under 6 girls, 3 x under 7 boys/girls group a and same in group b, 1 x under 8 boys/girls, 3 x under 9 boys/girls, 3 x under 10 girls, 1 x under 10 boys and 4 x under 13-17 boys. On the field we need 1 x long track timer, 1 x short track starter (have now filled long track starter), 2 x short track timers. Also still need 2 for the bbq - without this help there will be no hot food, and we would hate for you to have to head home and cook for yourself, help us help you!!

15.01.2022 Morning all and welcome to Friday and week B program. This week we will be celebrating NAIDOC week. Feel free to show you colours in support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. We are expecting some rain this afternoon so look out for any further updates. We are also down on helpers this week so if you could put you name down to help that would be greatly appreciated.

15.01.2022 REMINDER TO PLEASE FILL IN FORM. We know we have a wonderful, family oriented club, with lots of parents who pitch in every week, and we know these same families will do the same this season - however we DO need an indication that we will have enough hands on deck to run the season. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!... We are posting the link again for our volunteer registration form. We are in desperate need of an indication from parents who are happy to help out. At this stage, we have only had 6 fill in the form, with one of these being a committee member. If we do not get indication from parents that they are willing to help out, unfortunately we will not be able to run this season. We are not asking people to take on a role and that is them tied in for the season each and every week - if we are able to open registrations, we will then have a calendar-like form where you will be able to indicate the dates you are available to assist. We need at least three age marshalls for each group (without this we may have some ages where we are simply unable to accept registrations for that age group), as well as short track/long track/bbq/chipper Please fill in the form - this includes committee members or those parents who consistently help out with the same job each and every week. https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSdtyHZmHx04NGrCp/viewform

13.01.2022 Due to continuing rain and the state of the ground Little Athletics is cancelled for tonight. Let's hope for better weather next week. Have a great weekend everyone.

13.01.2022 Thanks to those who popped their name down for Friday night - we managed to beat the rain the two previous weeks, but wasn't to be this week!!! Don't forget - a new week means a new sign up roster - link is on the website or below. https://signup.com//invi/secure/8070183384297720120/false

13.01.2022 2021/22 Season Committee Positions We will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 5th May, 7pm, at Cardiff RSL. This is open to all members of the club. All the current positions in the committee will be declared open. We would LOVE to see some new faces come along. Even if you aren't sure you wish to hold an actual position, but feel you have some new ideas or suggestions to keep the club going in the fashion it always has, or just wish to find out more abou...t what goes on behind the scenes - please come along. All help is always appreciated. All positions on the committee generally help each other - so you would not be left to jump in the deep end with any role!! In saying that, we are DESPERATE for a new canteen supervisor. This season was Cassandra's last season with the club, so without someone willing to take on this role, we will have no canteen. She is willing to come along in the beginning of next season to help any person out with this role. The biggest jobs are purchasing and collecting the lollies/meat/bread etc and being around in the canteen on Friday nights - and these are jobs which can be helped with my other members where needed. We all love to pitch in to get the job done. Would also be great if anyone else would be interested in coming along to simply help and learn to maintain the grounds. We are responsible for keeping the lines marked, grass cleared around the discus cages etc, which needs to be done every few weeks. A few extra people to assist with this means it doesn't fall to the same people every time and gives everyone a bit of a break. If anyone has any questions about any of the positions, or any other items they wish clarification on, please feel free to message or email the club.

12.01.2022 What a great first week. We hope everyone had a great time. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding with the new COVID rules and procedures. If you don’t mind, please check out the website where we have posted a week 1 wrap up. A quick comment or like below to let us know you have read it would be great, as there are a few notices that we need everyone to read please. Check a separate post with next weeks jobs checklists and spots that need filling still. If they aren’t filled, unfortunately age groups will not be able to participate. https://www.cardifflittleathletics.org.au/

12.01.2022 These are the current spots that are filled and gaps that still need filling. Please utilise the sign up website or any issues, please just comment below what you are able to do to help. All other spots will be handed out Friday night and the night will not commence till all roles filled

12.01.2022 Results are now in for Friday night. Even with the ominous weather, we had 96 athletes in attendance and still had 174 new pbs set!! Of a note, under 7 boys for discus, every athlete who attended on Friday has received a participation point. One group had completed the event, while the other group was still going, so in fairness, we have awarded a point to all athletes. This coming Friday, we will be low again due to some year 10 formals happening. We will be short timers a...nd our recorder in the short track, Cassandra in the canteen/bbq and a few other spots. It is also our regular bbq helpers week off, so assistance needed here. Please consider if you can help in these areas and pop your name in the sign up sheet. Races will not start till we have helpers, and bbq food will not be purchased if we don’t have helpers - while the meat can be frozen, the bread goes to waste. See more

11.01.2022 Last rego pack pick up day this coming Wednesday, 7th October, 5-6pm. Don't forget to finalise your registration online before coming to pick up your pack. Reminder - once you have registered, please fill out the sign up form. While every year, we know that parents get in and help out with the age groups, or timing, or starting, or BBQ etc, and for that we are extremely appreciative, we need to know we have the spots manned to comply with our COVID Safe plan. By signing ...up beforehand, allows you to pick the job that will suit you best on the night. It would be very disappointing if on our first night back we have to sit age groups out and not let them compete because we don't have the hands on deck. While our preferred option is knowing ahead of time that we have enough helpers to allow us to run the evening, we will hand out any remaining jobs on the night - we will not be able to run the night till all jobs are full, as per our COVID safe plan https://signup.com//invit/secure/8070183384297720120/true

11.01.2022 Throws training has being cancelled this afternoon due to lightning in the district. Next training Wednesday eveningThrows training has being cancelled this afternoon due to lightning in the district. Next training Wednesday evening

09.01.2022 Feel free to check out the videos posted today for some hints and tips at some of the events your children will be doing. These, along with asking for help from any committee member or fellow parent, should make it easier to feel confident with helping out in an age group

08.01.2022 First competition night Friday 9/10/20 5.30pm

07.01.2022 EDIT - Under 6 boys, under 11-12 boys/girls and under 13-17 girls now full. Today’s update of spots still needing to be filled. I tried to do a list yesterday but came up as a job and no one could see it - so we’ll stick with the old school visual!! Please utilise sign up to fill what’s needed, or comment below, sign up only allows two spots currently in ages, however we need four as per photos

07.01.2022 All results each week are posted on Results HQ - you can look up your child/ren and see their times/jumps/PB's etc. To avoid congestion at events, especially short and long tracks, please don't wait around wanting to find out what a result was - this can all be viewed online. We aim to have these done usually the following day, however sometimes life gets in the way so please be understanding of this. The link below will not take you directly to results HQ (however there is a link on that page) - this is the instructions on how to view them, more for any new families who may not have used this before (or old families who simply need a refresher!!) https://www.cardifflittleathletics.org.au/results.html

07.01.2022 Hi all and welcome to Friday. With warm weather predicted it should be a great night. Please make sure you volunteer to help out with a duty and if you can make it early to help set up it would be greatly appreciated. See you there for a 5.30pm start.

04.01.2022 Registrations are OPEN. We believe there are enough committed volunteers to run our weekly competition nights. If you haven't volunteered, you will be given a job! https://www.cardifflittleathletics.org.au/registration.html

04.01.2022 There is an all ages mini meet scheduled at the blue track (Newcastle West)this month. The track has been damaged by cockatoos but no news on whether this will impact the meet so I thought I’d share the details of the meet. http://www.newcastleathleticfield.org.au/mini-meet.html

03.01.2022 Hi all, We've updated the website with additional times and days to pick up your season welcome packs. There's also info about where to enter and exit the field, spectator areas and volunteer COVID-19 online training. https://www.cardifflittleathletics.org.au/

02.01.2022 Don't forget to get your registrations done! All rego's are done online via LANSW (information on our website). Our first rego pack pick up day is only just over a week away. Look forward to seeing everyone back - even in a new Covid-safe way!! https://www.cardifflittleathletics.org.au/registration.html

01.01.2022 Goodluck to our 9 athletes competing at Youth state championships this weekendGoodluck to our 9 athletes competing at Youth state championships this weekend

01.01.2022 Each week, you will see our blue bins sitting in front of the canteen and shed. Please utilise these for your empty bottles/cans/popper containers. Other than the canteen, this is our only other little fundraiser we do for the club, so your support is appreciated.

01.01.2022 Results are in for last night. With quite a warm night, we still had 100 out of 143 athletes in attendance. We had 186 PB's made - that's a great effort to all athletes!! We also had one record broken!! Zane Gallard, under 13 boys, broke the 100m record with a time of 12.72 - beating the record set by Miles Petersen back in 2012. Stay cool this weekend, and remember to utilise the sign up page for next Friday! Help is always needed in all areas - without the assistance of all our parents, the night cannot run or runs a lot slower, so all help is always greatly appreciated.
