21.01.2022 Cardiff Childcare is walking for Camp Quality's Big Walk for Little Kids in October, to raise funds to support kids facing cancer, and I need your help. For families facing cancer, compromised immune systems mean every germ is a serious threat, not just COVID-19. So when Australia’s isolation ends, stress and anxiety won’t end for Camp Quality families. That’s why we're walking and raising funds to help give 7,000 kids and 18,000 family members waiting for the fun and safety ...of a Camp Quality program the break from cancer they urgently need. Donating as little as $35 sponsors a Camp quality Puppet one-on-one online playdate for a kid isolated in hospital or at home. Please support me to give kids a break from cancer. Visit our page: https://fundraise.campquality.org.au/s/8113/9514/e and donate whatever you can today. https://fundraise.campquality.org.au/s/8113/9514/e

18.01.2022 Transition Days Over the past few weeks our children have been participating in transition days to their new rooms for 2021. This has given each child the chance to get to know their new play environments and new friends! It also ensures children feel safe and comfortable within their new environments which makes for a successful and happy transition. We are so excited for our room changes which officially commence next week and we know our littles ones are beyond ready for their new chapter!!

17.01.2022 What an amazing week we have had celebrating NAIDOC Week 2020. With this years theme being Always Was, Always Will Be which acknowledges this nation’s story began at the dawn of time and didn’t begin with documented European contact. As a Centre we aim to provide children with many opportunities to learn, discover and explore Indigenous perspectives and empower children to acknowledge and embrace the true history of this country. Children’s inquisitive nature allows for opp...ortunities to plant the seed and encourage children to lead their own cultural journey. When children are connected with and contribute to their world they begin to learn ways of ‘being’, which reflect values, traditions and practices of their families and communities and broadens their understanding of the world in which they live.

13.01.2022 Mini Master Chef Classes This week our Wombats had the opportunity to choose a dish they would like to cook for lunch! They decided sausage sandwiches and salad were the go! They each took turns cooking the sausages, using the tongs to turn them around until they were ready and served them up for their peers. This activity allows children to have a sense of independence and to make choices about their daily routines. Well done Wombats!!

09.01.2022 Today we had a visit from Pete from The Funky Bugs. He was a lot of fun to watch and he sang some great songs that were fantastic to dance along to. While dancing along we learnt about the weather, direction, time and most importantly road safety.... We moved our bodies along to the songs developing our gross motor skills and motor planning while following the directions. We moved our arms up, down and side to side, exploring how we can move our bodies along to music and repeat movement patterns while learning about the time. We jumped up and down and used or arms and hands to imitate sun, rain and clouds. We all learnt about being safe in a car by putting our seatbelts on and some of our wombat friends had the opportunity to join in singing along with Pete.

08.01.2022 A beautiful afternoon hanging in our community garden

07.01.2022 LGBTQ DAY LGBTQ Day is so important because it marks the start of huge change within the LGBT+ community, as well as the wider societal implications. Continuing in this long standing tradition we continue to raise awareness, improve the attitudes of society and encourage inclusiveness. Throughout the day the children will participate in rainbow and glitter art, as well as dancing and fun games and activities, while also learning about equality.

03.01.2022 WATER PLAY Splish, splash, bubble, bubble, pop! Water play, both indoor and outdoor, is a unique activity for children as it is open-ended, and provides opportunities for extended learning. Children strengthen their gross motor skills by running and sliding through the water, and hopping through a sprinkler. They widen their sensory experiences as they put their hands in different textures (gritty, squishy, and slimy) and different temperatures (warm, cool, and cold). ... Water play allows children to explore and interact with each other. New experiences and discovering new things within shared spaces offer a great opportunity for social development.
