24.01.2022 Thank you to the wonderful Holdsworth family who are babysitting pur much loved birds these holidays. Each holidays our three beautiful finches need a loving home to go to. Excitedly the Holdsworth family will be caring for them these holidays, and previously the French family took them over the Christmas break. Our birds are extremely low maintenance, they come in a smaller Bird cage with their food for the two weeks and only need to be topped up every two-thirds days. ... The birds are very quiet and quite interesting to watch-their little sweet sounds are quite lovely to listen too. If you would like to go on our 'Bird Baby sitting list' please send through a message to register your interest! What an exciting way to start the holidays!

18.01.2022 CCPS Story Salad Last week a small group of researcher children engaged in a story writing experience. We began by reading a book ‘Animal Pants’ by Brian Moses and Anna Borerzki. The educator explained to the children the text is the spoken words we read, and the picture corresponds to those words. Next it was the children’s turn to create a page for their very own story book. The children came up with a title ‘Animal Jungle’ they then each chose an animal character to dra...w, before using their creative skills to add a sentence about their picture. The educator assisted the children in putting the book together before we read it as a group. 12.01.2022 A luxurious sensory experience.... Educator Holly came across some antique crystal ware that we knew the children would love. Crystal vases, jugs, bowls and scoops were just some of the treasures we found. To add to this Holly purchased from our local herbal shop, Blackwood Apothecary dried lavender, rose petals and tea leaves to create a divine sensory experience. ... 11.01.2022 SILKWORMS Today preschool added another pet to our centre, we are now the proud owners of 10 silkworms. Silkworms help show the children that their love and care for the insects can help them grow and thrive. These nurturing connections teach children that using kindness and care can benefit those around them, establishing empathy and compassion.... We can't wait to watch them grow!

09.01.2022 Welcome to the team Eliza CCPS would like to introduce Eliza, you may have seen her face around as she has been doing regular casual shifts for a while now. She has accepted Shirley’s maternity leave position and will be working Mondays, Wednesday’s and Fridays, so please if you see her say hi. Eliza has a passion for music and is a talented guitar player and singer - she enjoys sharing her talent with the children at CCPS.

09.01.2022 First day of Term 4 2020! Welcome back preschoolers to this perfect spring day. Over the holidays our mulberry tree has began to fruit! The children were very excited by this and many have red lips and hands We also had new grass installed on the hill! It's super inviting, but unfortunately the children have to stay off it for just a couple more weeks.... The children have loved engaging in conversations with their peers and educators about their holiday adventures - sounds like everyone had a wonderful time.

07.01.2022 This morning was spent making our beautiful tree colourful again! As the children dipped their brushes into the paint we spoke about the colours they were choosing. Red, yellow, orange, pink, purple and blue were used to create our rainbow tree. The children used their turn taking skills to share the brushes around so all our friends could have a turn participating. What a bright way to start our day

05.01.2022 Our Birds need a holiday too! Our beautiful three birds are in need of a loving home over the Christmas break. Our birds will be delivered to your door (courtesy of James ) They come with their spacious cage on wheels, food for the entire holiday. ... CCPS will be gifting a little surprise for the generous family that are happy to babysit them. Our finches are extremely low maintenance- their water only needs changing every 2-3 days, and food when low. They are quiet and very fun to watch. 03.01.2022 'The Adventures of a plastic Bottle Today the researchers read a new book from the 'Little green series' written by Alison Inches The children were absolutely captivated by this book- as we learnt new words and meanings. How plastic is made, where it comes from and how to implement reduce, reuse, recycle. The children were amazed at how a plastic Bottle is made. ... To extend upon this interest and further explore the little minds of our little creators - Educator Holly provided an open ended experience where children could create their own Recycling Plant! It was amazing!

02.01.2022 Exciting Announcements!! Last week was a very exciting week of announcements and celebrations. Educator Holly shared she got engaged to her long-time partner Jeremy. Holly went on a beautiful holiday and was proposed to at sunrise on their favourite beach. We are so excited for Holly and Jeremy as they celebrate with our CCPS family. ... Educator Eliza is 20 weeks pregnant with her second baby, she did a gender reveal with all the children and staff on Friday. It was SO exciting. Eliza had made envelopes and inside was either blue or pink smarties and streamers. All together we got to open the envelopes and share the excitement! IT’S A BOY!!!! Earlier in the year our Educator Shaye also got Engaged to her long time Partner Travis! She was completely taken by surprise as he popped the question during a beautiful family shoot. We have had such wonderful moments of joy during such a difficult year- we have loved celebrating with our CCPS family and friends.

01.01.2022 Wombat Stew by Marcia Vaughan On Wednesday the Explorers engaged in the story Wombat Stew, throughout the text the children were introduced to many Australian animals. To extend on the concept of the story, Cass collected natural resources from the garden to provide the children with the oppourtunity to create their own version of wombat stew. This was messy but of so much fun!

A special thank you to Isabella and her family for bringing in a lovely cake and card for world educators day. We also celebrated James birthday today! Happy birthday Boss Man. ...
