24.01.2022 Tell Them From Me Early in Term 4, students, parents and staff will have the opportunity to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Survey. The survey is anonymous for all involved and no survey will identify any individuals or families. TTFM provides school leaders an insight into student engagement and wellbeing, and the impact of teaching practices at their school, from the perspective of students, teachers and parents. The survey window for parents will be available during... Weeks 1 and 2, Term 4 (12th 25th October). All parents are encouraged to have a say in their child’s learning and wellbeing at Cardiff High. The survey should only take about 20 minutes to complete. Login details will be given at the beginning of Term 4. Students at Cardiff High will be completing the survey during Week 3, Term 4 on Monday 26th October or Tuesday 27th October during first period. 23.01.2022 TAFE Youth Engagement Strategy (YES!) Program 2020 This term, Year 10 students have had the opportunity to participate in the TAFE YES! Program. The program offers short courses as an introduction to various trades and TAFE courses and a taster to the nature of adult learning in the TAFE environment. This year, Cardiff High School had 30 students participate in 15 courses. They ranged from Exercise, Child Care and Animal Care to Defence, Music, Bricklaying and Baking to name ...a few. Year 10 students did an amazing job getting organised and travelling independently to TAFE and received fantastic feedback from TAFE for their participation.

15.01.2022 The IM Students have been learning and experimenting with water in their science class. They made their own water filtration device to clean dirty water and filtered the water through twice. Using paper towel, small rocks, sand and cotton balls; they found that the water become clearer and cleaner the more it was filtered.

13.01.2022 Last Friday, the MC2 class made pancakes with fruit and yogurt. All students participated in safe hygiene practices, preparation skills and cooking of their pancakes.

12.01.2022 This term the IM Class have been studying France. As part of their Community Access and Cooking Day they went shopping, purchased ingredients and upon their return to school, made ham and cheese croissants, pain au chocolat (chocolate croissants) and crepes with various toppings.

10.01.2022 The Cardiff High School Whole School Swimming Carnival will be held on Monday 1 February 2021 at Charlestown Swim Centre. We are aware that this is the 1st day back for Years 8, 9 & 10 and the 2nd day back for Years 7, 11 & 12. Due to rolling bookings we have not been successful in finding an alternative day before the Zone Swimming Carnival. A copy of the permission note has been emailed to parents and is also available from the SkoolBag app.

09.01.2022 Cardiff High School’s Student of the Week initiative recognises students who have achieved pleasing results in an assessment and or class application, by going above and beyond of what is asked of them. These award recipients demonstrate a positive attitude towards their education and are students who are excelling in their attitude, application or academic excellence. Congratulations!

07.01.2022 Japanese classes During the Food unit this term Year 7 classes participate in a chopstick challenge. Each student attempts to use chopsticks by placing a single grain of rice into another bowl. The person with the most grains of rice wins! 7R are the first students to have competed. The students learn how to use chopsticks, rules when eating, language associated with the unit and various Japanese cuisine. We have a chopstick challenge winner of the 7R class! Josh Cumberland a...nd he EVEN won against Mrs Hunter by one grain of rice! The winners of each Year 7 class will verse one another, then we will be opening the competition to the whole school!! 06.01.2022 At the the end of last Term, Uncle Darryl and Ms Deacon led a workshop where all interested students and SRC Representatives wrote their own personalised Acknowledgement of Country. These Acknowledgements have been read at school assemblies and special assemblies such as today's NAIDOC Week assembly.

02.01.2022 Our Year7/8 Cricket Girls recently participated in a Cricket Gala Day at Wallsend against other schools from Newcastle and the Hunter Region. For some, it was their first time playing cricket outside of the backyard. The girls were competitive, gave everything a go and each of them played with respect and encouragement for each other.
