18.01.2022 At Orchard End Farm we thought you may like a virtual tour of our place produced a couple weeks ago. So much to see. Enjoy.
17.01.2022 Calling all Cardinia Food Movement members, family, current & future friends!! Come & join us next Thursday 12th December for a tour of native bush foods, followed by a delicious dinner at Peppermint Ridge Farm - the very first business to register in Cardinia Farm & Food! The Cardinia Food Movement will be celebrating another year of connecting delicious local & healthy food with our vibrant community of extraordinary humans.... Weve seen The United African Farm, Pick my Project Pakenham Community School Farm, CWA Community Kitchens Program, and our own Cardinia Farm & Food Directory all continue to grow with the pure passion, dedication, innovation & collaboration between our CFM members and the wider community. The Cardinia Food Circles Project winning the Promoting Healthy Eating award last night at the VicHealth Awards was just the icing on top of one of Maxs incredible cakes! We will be gathering from 6pm for our own private native bush foods tour, followed by a fine feast all coming to a cost of $42 each. Please be in touch ASAP as we are finalising our booking!
17.01.2022 Perfect weekend to pick up Blueberry + Rhubarb plants + delicious & organic produce at Emily Hill Farm Organics!!
16.01.2022 During Term 4 this year, Cardinia Farm & Food asked @pakenhamsecondarycollege VCAL Environmental Science students to create Version #1 of an interactive map/poster to compliment the online directory. Students elected to work with existing registered producers/food enterprises to gain greater perspective and showcase the broad and diverse distribution of local food in Cardinia. In addition, extending their understanding of the Shires varying environmental and climatic conditio...ns which contribute to a rich food identity. We are so thrilled and super proud of their honest and thoughtful collaboration. Such a great bunch of humans!! So, to highlight our aim to CONNECT, EDUCATE, PROMOTE & CELEBRATE, look out for this pretty little thing in the Cardinia community this summer. Enjoy your festive feasts!! #localfood #farmandfood #cardiniafoodmovement #pakenhamsecondarycollege #growingthefuture #supportlocal #eatlocal See more
15.01.2022 On behalf of the Cardinia Food Movement and the Cardinia Farm and Food directory, Im (Max) sending our collective condolences to Sue and the Keon-Cohen family for the tragic but peaceful passing of Chester last night. This represents a massive loss to the community of family-run farms and food businesses across the Shire of Cardinia. Emily Hill Farm Organic Blueberries, where Chester was co-owner and founder, was one of the first organic commercial blueberry farms in Austra...lia when they became certified organic in 1983. The best way to support farming families like the Keon-Cohen family is by buying their produce and products and by spreading the word about their farm gate stalls. Ive just spoken with Sue who mentioned that they have alot of citrus available for purchase, as well as seasonal produce and planting seed. #emilyhillfarm #blueberries #cardiniafarms #buylocaleatlocal #cardiniafarmandfood #cardiniafoodmovement
13.01.2022 "We need to share the beauty and bounty that comes from people who care to grow food for people who care to see, taste, smell, and feel the difference of food grown with care. Anyone who in any shape or form has felt this calling: you are part of this movement. The future of food is you and me."

06.01.2022 "COVID-19 has caused us to rethink many things we took for granted, including a plentiful supply of food at relatively stable prices in our supermarkets." We need to stop relying on long supply chains! To prepare for the next crisis, we need to build resilience, create shorter supply chains & devise contingency plans. ... We can all do this by: - buying more locally produced food staples - supporting local producers at a farmers market - joining a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) group (eg. the amazing Prom Coast Food Collective) - taking advantage of online platforms that make a range of locally grown food more readily available! Follow us on Instagram @cardiniafarmandfood Visit our website: www.cardiniafarmandfood.org.au Lets connect our local farmers, producers and food businesses with our local residents! 04.01.2022 Reminiscing back on our visit to Summer Snow Juice in Officer! Their farm gate shop is open Weekdays from 8.30am - 4.30pm! Nick & Bernadette gave us an informative & inspirational tour of their farm! Walking us through from the pollination of apples in the orchard - to harvest - to juice - to bottle. ... Their innovative process of using the juiced apple pulp for more products is really impressive - reducing waste & completing the full life cycle!! What an amazing event as part of #lovelocalfood month from the Cardinia Food Movement Buy directly from your farmer at their farm shop #supportlocal & stock up on: - apples - apple juice - apple cider - apple cider vinegar & so much more from fellow local producers!! Or relax looking out over the orchard with a cup of coffee & toasted sandwich! Yum! We feel so lucky to have this local family business register in our directory! #cardinia #localfood #supportlocal #localfarmer #supportfarmers #apples #summersnow #buydirect #cardiniafarmandfood #farmtour #cardiniafarms #cardiniafood
