25.01.2022 Some classics from my favourite year of footy - 1974. Can the Tiges go #yellowandback2back or will it be #cats2020?

25.01.2022 OK time for "Name the card"... He's not the best known Kevin from Tigerland, but he is a life member who played 200+ games. Here's the photo, but what card series was it used in? (Note - don't even think of nominating a modern card!)

24.01.2022 Spot the ball! An iconic moment in football - from a different angle! A, B, or C?

23.01.2022 Friday funnies the best of ebay. Wow a home made poster reproduction photocopy of this 1967 Scanlens footy set, going for more than what the vintage original set does in good nick! Sign me up - I'm excited!

23.01.2022 In 1956 Topps put out a set of ex-President trade cards. Is it time for a new set with a new entry to the list...?

22.01.2022 Another back to back for the Tiges. Congratulations. Question - what do you think about swapping jumpers as was the tradition in the VFL days. Does Wayne Walsh have it right? Yes or No

22.01.2022 Spot the ball! Extra points if you can also correctly name the two players

21.01.2022 Me: Wanna swap? Rhyce Shaw: Yep (Too soon?)

21.01.2022 No free Big Macs today but can anyone still remember what you had to say in 10 seconds flat to get your free World Series Cricket poster back in 1978? I do still. Talk about an amazing marketing gimmick.

19.01.2022 Following on from my post about whether cards were authorised or not, I've compiled a few here for discussion. I've added what I know about them, though none have the AFL logo for what it's worth. Plenty of other series have also been put out by clubs and sponsors over the years, and recently some other releases have featured past players minus club branding, perhaps as a way of circum-navigating licencing issues. Do you know more? Which one's your favourite? Tell us! Acheron... Mint - Prolific producer of cards from the US. Has printed a copyright message on the rear of cards which feels a bit rich. Scanlens Archives / AFL X-Men - drew the ire of Select and were withdrawn from sale, although there were claims at the time that all the appropriate permissions were sought and given... verbally. Scanlens 2019-2020 - Sunshine Collectables has reached an agreement with the Scanlens company to revive the iconic brand - for better or worse. Bruzzese - local artist producing and selling cards from his own drawings JaJa's Collectables - Produced by collectables store owner from Bacchus Marsh Regal Trading cards - Signtaure cards featuring "greats of the game" like Alan Rowarth, Mark McGough and Lindsay Fox Zeenuts - Another US based producer using the great moat as protection from litigation Footycards.com.au - A dealer who has produced and sold several series of past champions WEG Art - Another prolific creater and seller of cards featuring carictures based on the style of the original WEG - the late William Ellis Green Dragon Reproductions - Home made recreations of the classic caricatures, swiped from the old Footy Life Magazine. John Rogers might have just turned in his grave

19.01.2022 Time for spot the ball! A few magpie fans warbling about big Cox's big game last night. So that's 2 great games he's played now yeah? Whatever - so where do you reckon this ball ended up? A, B, or C?

19.01.2022 Ever wondered what the most expensive single item is on ebay at any given time? Me either! But still, is anyone who collects these able to explain to me why I still have to pay for postage?

18.01.2022 Spot the ball - A famous moment in NFL Playoff history was when the 49ers Joe Montana found Dwight Clark in the end-zone to seal a famous victory in the 1981 season NFC Championship Game against the Dallas Cowboys. But where was the ball in this equally famous photo? A, B, or C?

16.01.2022 Even on a Friday arvo I prefer my "near mint" to be a little more, I dunno... "minty?"

16.01.2022 Oh dear, ebay strikes again!

13.01.2022 OK its time for.... Pick the card! So we all know this is Mr Football himself, Ted Whitten, but the footy card this photo was used as the basis for, well let's just say that will require a sharp eye!

12.01.2022 Happy festive season everyone - be safe and stay well, but most of all, enjoy yourself

12.01.2022 A different type of "Spot the" today - it's time for Spot the Puck! Wayne Gretzky was "the Great One", so let's how great your guessing skills are....

11.01.2022 Friday quiz. The world's most expensive card, the 1909 Honus Wagner T-206 sold for 3.12m USD in 2016. Question - how would you know this one is a fake?

11.01.2022 Spot the ball - Lou Richards at Victoria Park - A B or C?

11.01.2022 Trades and draft picks flying everywhere. When I was a kid this man was the biggest fish and took my team several years to land. He then played like a fish out of water meanwhile one of the guys we traded away won a Brownlow. 3 Questions - Who is this guy, who won the Brownlow, and who's the most anticipated arrival at your club you can remember?

11.01.2022 Eyes wide shut #1 Collingwood's Peter McKenna....

11.01.2022 OK time for Grand Final edition of Spot the Ball! A controversial moment - was it over or not? No ARC in 1967, so you tell us, A, B or C?

10.01.2022 Can you remember any other heroic acts by sportspeople?

09.01.2022 A new series of sports quiz, real photos, you just have to "Name the card" Starting off with an easy one....

08.01.2022 Real photos - Name the footy card. Action photo of one of the greats of the VFL era - but what card series did this one turn up on?

08.01.2022 OK been a while between drinks which is exactly what this legend will never have to buy again in his life as long as there is a Swans supporter in the bar. One of the great Grand Final moments - but where's the ball?

06.01.2022 If you're a fan of footy, cricket, boxing, horse racing, rubgy etc, the Leski Sporting Memorabilia auction is now live! https://bit.ly/32BlDxY

06.01.2022 One thing footy has proven over and over is that it takes all types. Was thinking who's the freakin' skinniest player you ever saw on a footy field? Obviously we never got to see Jack 'Skinny' Titus, but I saw plenty of Ross 'Twiggy' Dunne and Grant 'Sticks' Lawrie. Others?

03.01.2022 Even on a Friday arvo I prefer my BULK to be a bit, I dunno... bulkier?

03.01.2022 Quiz for the day - what are we looking at here? (Look closely)

03.01.2022 Friday quiz - which one would you call mint?

01.01.2022 Four easy payments of $5.50 will get you this.... invisible card! (plus postage - not sure what they are posting though?)
