24.01.2022 It can be daunting to write a job application after being in business. Yes, it does happen. You just don't know whether to dumb it down or crow about your achievements. http://bit.ly/2U5fTtQ

23.01.2022 People often talk about goals as if life doesn't start until they are reached. Enjoy travelling. It's the best part.

22.01.2022 Negative comments; spelling/grammar errors; racial or gender slurs; sus activities eg " must have had a great night last night; I was so drunk I don't remember a thing" etc. You get the idea. Employers and recruiters often scan your social media so don't be give them cause for concern.

20.01.2022 Go to the library and borrow a book. Preferably non fiction. It can help to settle overwhelm. Post a picture of your book.

20.01.2022 When your resume [and cover letter] is full of buzz words or jargon it will put the reader off. You don't want that! Make it real and professional but simple.

19.01.2022 Potencial employers have now started stalking social media pages. So make sure you get rid of bitchy and negative comments; racial or gender slurs; moaning about work. And while you're at it, tighten up security!

17.01.2022 By saying you can't do something you're setting yourself up for success but it isn't the kind of success that is at all helpful. If you used up energy to defeat the idea then it must be important to you. Be courageous. Instead, ask how you could possibly do it. What do you need to learn? Are there steps to take? Are there people who could help you? Is there another way of doing this? Get more ideas to get your career moving on our website careerchampions.net

14.01.2022 Sometimes it's the simplest things that can hold us back from getting the career we want. Tell us what holds you back. http://bit.ly/2w67B6s

12.01.2022 Do you ask the interviewer quality questions?

11.01.2022 Today is the day to revise where you're headed, make corrections or take a whole new route. You're in control of your future.

11.01.2022 "Keeping up with the Jones'", FOMO, Bright Shiny Object Syndrome... whatever distracts you from what's important to you doesn't help in the long run. When distractions appear ask yourself whether they will help you or just get in the way. Do what works for you.

10.01.2022 Do you make helpful and supportive comments in social media, especially LinkedIn and groups? Get known in places used by your target industry. Hitting the like button is better than nothing but adding to the conversation is so much better and you may be remembered in the right ways.

10.01.2022 Don't believe everything you read. Check everything you write. For a bit of fun I downloaded an app to read my palm. [Something I've never done before even though I was assigned the job of palm reader at my school fete when I was 12 years old.] Today the notification came up with today's reading. For a moment I thought I had overslept like Rip Van Winkle but of course I hadn't. [It is 27th June today] ... Even though I downloaded for fun, this one post has destroyed any validity this app may have had. My message to you is to check everything before you post or send [including resumes, cover letters, networking emails] as you could give entirely wrong message through a simple error and might have far greater consequences than you imagine. #resumes #career

08.01.2022 You have a brand, like it or not. How you come across to the interviewer, recruiter, hiring manager and even yourself are the outworking of your brand. Running late, slumping, your clothes etc all speak volumes about you. Make sure you are being the best version of you. Respect yourself.

08.01.2022 Put contact details at the top of the page. Use a professional email address. Add your LinkedIn profile link. No need for snail mail address. Add City only if you think it's relevant.

07.01.2022 Think about how you can become known in your target industry/audience. Start discussions in groups and posts. What useful comments you can make to be remembered in the right ways?

07.01.2022 Seriously, if you're hating the job you're in it could be because you're shrinking to fit into a job you've completely out grown. We need challenge even if we don't think we do. Look for the next thing whether it's a promotion, a sideways move or something completely different.

06.01.2022 Business owners moving back into the workforce [even for a short time] often feel like failures and it shows in the resumes they create. They try to dumb down their achievements in business. An employer wants the totality of you not a dumbed down version. Be proud of your achievements. For more ways to show the full scope of you for to our website for more tips and tools.

06.01.2022 If you stick to submissive job searching then you won't ever find it. Know what you want and where you want it and then build relationships to get you there.

01.01.2022 Cover letters introduce you to the employer, the written version of you dropping off your resume. This is where you get to tell them a little bit about you and why you're applying for the position. It is not an excerpt from your resume. Be comfortable with letting your personality shine through.
