24.01.2022 I’ve had Wednesday off work for over 10 years... and I have to say, it helps to create the balance in my life. . Mostly it’s my exercise and social day but it is also partly cleaning and washing day. . My downstairs area gets tidy and clean which means I feel less overwhelmed for the rest of the work week. Also, a load of washing gets done meaning I have less chores to do on Saturday.... . It also allows me to move my body so I’m not sitting at a desk all week which is great for me body’s health. . So, as you can see, it’s not a lie on the couch day, which of course I need at some stage, but it is a productive and joyful day which brings happiness and calmness. . Do you work PT? If so, which day/s do you have off and why? 20.01.2022 I just loved Dr Jim Bright's webinar "Helping People live with Chaos in their Careers". People and Circumstances change... it is ok to no longer feel joy in your career. At least 66% of people report a chance event having a significant influence on their career. ... Learning to be Adaptable is the key because there will always be change in both people and the world of work.

19.01.2022 What if... you create a job which matches you, instead of trying to fit into a job which is offered..... . Just think about this for a moment. .... . When working over the years in many jobclubs , I can’t tell you how many times I heard -... I could maybe do that job. Kind of, sort of, if I had to, I’ll do it but I’ll probably get bored. . Now, don’t get me wrong, you can here the strong work ethic coming through with these comments and I’m huge on work ethic BUT ... who would you rather employ?? . Applicant A -I’m a maybe about being able to do that job -the job is not quite for me but I’ll have a go -I did that job 10 years ago so I’m sure I could remember those skills -I’ll take it until something better comes up OR Applicant B -I know my strengths and skill set and that job is a great fit -I’ve always dreamed of working in this industry -I’ve been learning and upskilling to have the knowledge and skills required -I’ve looked at the job and it’s the kind of environment where I thrive . Who are you going to employ? Applicant A or B? . Now, in today’s labour market, where there are 300-1000 applicants for a job, where it is highly competitive, I believe that if you are applying for the matched jobs, suitable roles, something you would enjoy doing... you are far more likely to get an interview and then get a job offer. . . So.... what does that mean for you??? . . It means you need to Take Action, you need to drive your own career show! . You need to know , really know, yourself as a worker and then put yourself in front of the ideal workplace. The employer doesn’t know why they need YOU, but you do because you know all about Yourself and now you know all about their company. Dunnaahh! Let them know why they need you. . .
