Care For Hedland is still seeking more Container Sorters for our upcoming Containers For Change (10c Refund) Program. You will need to be reliable, physically fit and able to work in a repetitive, yet sometimes dusty environment and be comfortable handling recyclables /rubbish.... There is a focus on good customer service. With good people skills, attention to detail, good communication skills and ability to sort and count containers important. We are seeking candidates with a great attitude who are reliable, friendly and hard working. Find a spot on the beach and set up camp :) take as many photos as you like while the sun is out. The CFH crew will be on the beach to we can show everyone these amazing animals. ... 24.01.2022 Join us for 2020 World Clean Up Day Saturday 19th September 7am-9am This year we are targeting Buttweld Rd. Come and join us and help us clean up our local environment.... Meeting at the corners of Buttweld Rd and North Circular Rd. From there we will spread out along the entire stretch of Buttweld Rd. Help us to clean up! All are most welcome to attend. All ages. 22.01.2022 From the 1st October 2020, in Western Australia there are a number of containers that are NOT eligible to receive the 10c refund. Generally, ineligible containers are those that are less than 150ml and greater than 3L. Other ineligible containers include all plain milk bottles, wine bottles, pure spirit bottles, cordial and registered health tonics.... Pure juice containers 1L or greater (or less than 150ml) are also ineligible. If not sure, if your drink container is eligible, please look and see if it has the 10c Refund at Collection Depots/Points in Participating State/Territory of Purchase. If this is missing, your container is not eligible. Or send us a photo and the friendly team will be very happy to assist you.

21.01.2022 Huge thank you to the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce for enabling Care For Hedland to host the recent Business After Hours event at our new premises at 15 Moorambine Street, Wedgefield, on Tuesday. It provided a great opportunity to welcome everyone to our new Depot and also provide an overview on the Containers for Change program, our refund collection points will be live as of the 1st of October. A fantastic initiative for the Hedland community where we can all contribute... in cleaning up our local environment and recycle at the same time. 16.01.2022 Care for Hedland World Clean Up Day Volunteers - Saturday 19th September 7am-9am Join for Care for Hedland as they undertake a litter clean up as part of World Clean Up Day on 19th September from 7.00am-9.00am. Meeting point is Corner Buttweld Rd and North Circular Rd, South Hedland.... You will need to wear enclosed shoes, bring a hat and your own water bottle, lunch and snacks. Also please be sun smart. 15.01.2022 Care for Hedland needs you! We are currently looking for people and families who can billet our out-of-town turtle volunteers between December 1st and the end of February. Volunteers usually stay between 1-3 weeks, however there a few volunteers who will have extended stays between Dec till Feb. If you think you and your family could host a volunteer, then please send us a message or an email to [email protected] and we can start organizing a great stay for our volunteers! 14.01.2022 From the 1st October 2020, in Hedland you can collect & bring eligible drink containers for your 10c refund at the Care For Hedland Refund Point at 15 Moorambine St, Wedgefield. Eligible containers are drink containers most commonly seen as litter. Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard drink containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible. Look for the print and symbol - 10c Refund at Collection Depots/Points in Participating State/Territory of Purchase.

08.01.2022 A fantastic effort by our small band of volunteers this morning collecting roadside litter at the 6 Mile Turn Off. In just over 1hr, we collected a grand total 34.74kgs. Recycling cans 0.6kgs and waste 34.14kgs. Next clean up event is for 2020 World Clean Up Day, Saturday 19th September 2020.
