20.01.2022 I must say we that client stories about the Lives Lived Well Roadmaps program are often very inspiring to read. Together they tell a touching story of lives being changed for the better by the outstanding care provided by staff and the impact the strategies they provide to beat addiction are having on the community. 20.01.2022 We received this story on Care Opinion Australia recently. The family's author wanted their parent, who has dementia, to be allowed to take short walks from their aged care home independently. They acknowledge the risk involved but were so pleased that #southernplusorg worked with them to find a way to balance this risk with their duty of care. The author titled it ‘Dementia not a barrier to freedom after a successful family conference’ which we felt was well said! 06.01.2022 I love this idea of a Giving Countdown to Christmas. There are a couple of ideas that really stand out to us: Day 3 - Deliver homemade baked goods to your local fire station. Day 7 - Tape change to a parking metre!. Day 15 - Write an uplifting message on a post-it-note and leave it in a library book for someone to find later....
