22.01.2022 Travelling the hot dusty outback roads this week on behalf of Care Outreach delivering Christmas hampers and goodies to farming families. Some improvement on last year though one property has had no substantial rain now for ten years, very patchy rainfall. With Karen Jensen and Michelle Kroon. Dirranbandi Team.

19.01.2022 What a great week we’ve had visiting farmers ( and town today) with Care Outreach in Dirranbandi. Encouraging hearing good reports from those who got rain and managed to sew and harvest this year. Keep praying for rain. They haven’t had any since Feb and need some more drenching rains out here. ( there was still an occasional farm that hadn’t had rain for 10 years). Thanks team. It’s been fun working together

18.01.2022 Some pics from our Augathella team.

17.01.2022 We are excited to be one of the many Care Outreach teams travelling the hot dusty outback roads this week delivering Christmas hampers and goodies to farming families. (Thankful for air con!!)

16.01.2022 HI Everyone, just a heads up for those organising donations of goods for Care Outreach/Care Shoppe. We are only receiving NEW goods for the foreseeable future. We are preparing for our upcoming major project - Christmas for the Bush. Items we are receiving are eg: NEW Christmas Gifts, Toiletries and non-perishable food items & Christmas themed treats & goods (no chocolate sadly). To help with processing, delivery of goods by end of October to our warehouse at Coolum would be very helpful. Thank you for your understanding.

15.01.2022 Where has the year gone? We are in full preparation for Christmas for the Bush. Looking to visit around 2000 families, covering a bit over 1.2 mil sq kms. Thanks to an awesome team of volunteers.

14.01.2022 To the city and coast, the drought is NOT over!! Although most farmers comment that it's not as bad as this time last year, the majority are desperately in need of rain. From our Darling Downs team.

11.01.2022 Care Outreach team out Quilpie way, a mild 42 deg. Doing a great job calling in on properties. Love the old time pic early days hunting.

08.01.2022 Our Christmas for the Bush project is coming up quickly. Here is one of the ways you can help us bring some Christmas cheer to our Outback families. Details on how to donate are on our website www.careoutreach.com.au

06.01.2022 We have had a lot of new page likers and commenters recently, so we thought we would share a bit of our background as to why we help and support Rural and Outback people and families. We are in our 27th year of outreaching to Rural and Outback people and families. We visit over 2,300 families covering a massive area from Toowoomba to the other side of Windorah, south to the north side of Bourke, and north to the south of Blackall, Central NSW around the Condobolin region. 2...7 years ago when we first went out west visiting, we ran into a number of very sad situations. There had been suicides. Spouses/partners, children and loved ones left behind fending for themselves. Still having to deal with drought, debt, bank pressures, keeping animals alive and their properties running on a daily basis, let alone the raw grief of their loss. The thing impacting us the most was we were told ‘everyone is alright out here’, ‘nobody needs any help’. What we found could not have been further from the truth. We still on occasion hear these phrases today ‘After all they are rich farmers’. For the record, the last couple of years have been some of the hardest years we have seen for our western families. So many have had 9-10 years of drought. If you have lived through a drought you would have some understanding. Our major focus is to support our rural families through these difficult times. Unfortunately, it also comes with its share of tragedies. Our main goal is to try and prevent these sorts of situations happening. We can tell story after story of our volunteers turning up at the right place at the right time over and over again. We have letters saying that a visit another half an hour later would have been too late. They thank our volunteers profusely for being there. The last few years has seen a lot of sadness. We endeavour to support the families. Our volunteers, just normal everyday people, give of their time and effort to support our rural and Outback families. See more

04.01.2022 It's been a very big few weeks in the Care warehouse (aka Santa's warehouse). Our amazing volunteers have been wrapping presents, packing hampers, putting together toiletry packs, stacking the pallets and so much more. Today the incredible John from Edwards Transport Gympie came with one of his trucks and a load of goodies is currently making its way to our bases across the Outback. All our trailers are in use, with other loads. Volunteers are travelling and setting up in the bases ready to start their visits. On top of this are the vouchers and visa cards that will be used in the towns to ensure we can support local businesses. CHRISTMAS FOR THE BUSH 2020 is about to start.

04.01.2022 Day 2 Euromanga, a cool 41 degrees today, went onto on property, paper work said beware 6 dogs, it was wrong they only have 9 dogs. Then some interesting happening see photos below, meeting lots of new people and seeing some old friends. It aren’t no picnic out here

03.01.2022 It's Dec 1st and the Care Office is getting its Christmas on! There are some Christmas goodies for sale in the Care Outreach - CARE Shoppe 35 Dacmar Rd, Coolum Beach.

01.01.2022 Some more pics from from our volunteers. Its still very dry and barren. Trees are dying. In the midst of this, they love catching up with the amazing men and women of the West. It is always a joy to witness the hard work put in to keeping some green around the house yards when just beyond the fenceline everything is bare dirt for kilometres.
