24.01.2022 Lovely gesture Balaklava Prime Dental

23.01.2022 Covid-19 Clinic Update This week all clinics will run as normal excluding Whyalla which is closed until further notice. Next week Balaklava and Gawler will be closed for the rest of April. I am in the process of contacting patients with appointments.... Port Pirie will continue in a reduced capacity while safe to do so. With the clinics closed I will be able to offer home visits to my current clients over 70yrs old who are within the township of Balaklava. I have made this decision as many of my patients are over 70 and I would like to encourage you all to practice social distancing. We will reopen and return to normal clinic hours when it’s safe to do so. Should you run into any complications there will be appointments available to support you during this time. I can be contacted on [email protected] New patients will be booked for May/June where capacity is available but preference will be given to existing patients and new patients of the medical practices I work with. I look forward to welcoming you back to the clinic on the other side of Corona. Kind Regards, Libby In the meantime I’ll be practicing social distancing with a 5,4 and 18 month old..... send help

Clinics Please consider delaying all non-urgent services Balaklava- remains closed on Wednesday’s this is due to the need to maintain social distancing in a small clinical space. Saturday’s will reopen as much as able. Home visits available for existing patients with clinical need. Whyalla-remains closed. Home visits to existing patients with a clinical need. No new patients Port Pirie-Open and operating as normal. Gawler- Will reopen next month and operate as normal. I will NOT be in clinic at all this week but will be contacting patients about their appointments. Thanks Libby

18.01.2022 Meet our new Podiatrist We are very pleased to welcome James Rasche who will be working periodically at our Port Pirie clinic. James graduated some years ago and has a wide variety of experience. It’s hard to get a podiatrist in the country so when James requested specifically to work in Port Pirie we were beyond excited!... Please join us in making him feel welcome

16.01.2022 Travelling Country Podiatrist This week was the first of travelling less and working some shorter days. It gave me time to reflect on the long list of towns i’ve worked in over the last 13 years and what a typical week looks like. The list of places extended to 14 :... Berri Loxton Barmera Waikerie Renmark Riverton Burra Clare Snowtown Balaklava Gawler Port Pirie Port Augusta Whyalla On average travelling 1200km a week in my trusty toyota and being fuelled by copious amounts of lattes + the odd chocolate donut has been a lot of fun. It’s definitely provided many lovely patients and beautiful sunsets. I stopped to take this photo on the way back from Gawler yesterday. Many patients ask questions about how much I travel and where I visit so i’ll try and post a few photos over the coming weeks when I can. kind regards, Libby

14.01.2022 Online Bookings We have reopened online bookings for Balaklava and you are also now able to book online for our Port Pirie clinic Bookings via the book now button or carepluspodoatry.com.au

14.01.2022 New Patients This is a friendly update that at the moment I'm not taking on any new patients in Whyalla and minimal new patients in Port Pirie. In Pirie there is a new podiatrist James that is available. Kind Regards Libby

14.01.2022 It’s now a requirement to wear a mask when visiting any of our clinics. We have limited stock available so if you have some disposable masks please bring one with you. Also a timely reminder to be kind to the admin staff they’re doing a great job under a lot of pressure atm... thanks Libby Pearson

14.01.2022 Last Friday was crazy socks for docs day an event that raises awareness and attempts to decrease stigma around mental health in the medical community. We will make a donation to the beyond blue foundation at the end of the month in recognition of this event. #crazysocksfordocs

13.01.2022 Monday Clinics Balaklava Kick-Off We’re now running a Monday clinic in addition to Wednesday and Saturday in Balaklava Thankyou to the Wakefield Regional Council for a grant used to purchase new equipment to allow us to open on a Monday. Also to @ Pam for being our first Monday visitor.

12.01.2022 Balaklava and Gawler Update We’ve had wonderful support in Balaklava and Gawler with Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday fully booked a few weeks ahead. Thankyou to the Wakefield Regional Council who we received a grant from to purchase a new podiatry chair and ultrasonic cleaner. This chair will be used by GPs, visiting specialists and myself.... We currently have a wait list for both of these clinics and due to changes in my personal situation i’m going to now be adding in Monday’s fortnightly in Balaklava and extra days at Hyde and Partners. We would also like to thank Gawler Grande View and Balaklava Mill Court Homes for contracting our services for the residents there. It’s a pleasure to be able to follow the patients through their life span from being a community patient to nursing home resident. Excitingly there is a new podiatrist starting on the Eyre Peninsula working alongside Noami and myself. Thanks to Noami who organised and administered pretty much all of this! More details will follow On a personal note i’ll be working a little less over the coming months to spend some extra time with my young family. It was Alice’s 2nd birthday today and she certainly enjoyed getting into mischief! Lastly again thankyou for the kindness you always show me. It isn’t easy with 3 kids under 6, a business to run and a fair amount of km to cover but your patience is always appreciated. kindest regards, Libby

12.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mum’s out there. By far the hardest job in the world. For those that don’t know me well I have 3 children Alice-2 (budding artist), Rose-4 and Patrick-5. ... I certainly had a shock yesterday when Alice decorated my wall and I found her in the middle of the table helping herself to my Mother’s Day flowers. I hope you all get spoiled and feel appreciated on this special day Im off for a family tea and to provide some closer supervision Kind Regards, Libby

11.01.2022 Monthly Update Well, all clinics are now up and running with procedures in place to meet the Covid-19 guidelines. The last to re-open was Whyalla and I was pleased to note jitter bean cafe has also re-opened its doors. Hopefully this means I may actually arrive on time to clinic. There is limited availability across all sites as the demand since reopening has been overwhelming. A locum has been assisting and at this stage I won't be taking on any new patients in Whyalla. ... I hope to relocate the Whyalla clinic to a larger part of the building and reopen the books for new patients at the end of the year. I enjoyed taking 2 weeks off last month. We celebrated a 6th birthday party, Rosie got some new shoes and we all survived our glimpse into home schooling. Thank you all for your patience,

09.01.2022 Chasing the Sunrise I wanted to take a photo of the windfarms on my way to Whyalla. My photography skills = awful so you will need to use your imagination.... happy friday

09.01.2022 Sports day Today I took the morning off work to head to our very first sports day. It was great to see all the little ones running, hurdling and giving their bodies a good workout. Thankful that we are in SA and able to start participating in these grassroots sporting events.

09.01.2022 Christmas Appointments The clinic is just about fully booked for mid to late December. If you haven’t already got an appointment please book one in the next week or two to avoid disappointment

07.01.2022 Corona Virus Whyalla Clinic Temporary Closure As of next week the Whyalla Clinic will be closed to the community until at least mid June where I will reevaluate in conjunction with the Kindred Living staff. We would like to thank the community and especially the staff at Kindred Living for their ongoing support. ... Being an aged care provider it is crucial that Kindred Living takes every step to ensure the safety of their older clients and we are 100% supportive of this. The clinic will reopen and I will be taking some time to spend with my family and to plan for a bigger better service when we are back. All current clients will be contacted and be given priority for appointments when we reopen. I will be available should my high risk clients be experiencing foot wounds or serious foot concerns. At this time I will not be taking on any new clients until further notice. Kindest Regards, Libby #flattenthecurve #wereallinthistogether

07.01.2022 I think I am a spaghetti noodle.......

06.01.2022 Monthly Update Well, school holidays are here and the clinic continues to be busy. I’ll finalise the rosters for next year but It will involve less outreach and more time at home. I’ve made this decision to travel less after 12 years on the road and i’m looking forward to spending more time with my young family. I would also like to focus more on what I enjoy doing my aged care contracts at Kindred Living in Whyalla, Grande View in Gawler and Millcourt in Balaklava.... I visited my own grandad Brian who is 86 yrs old recently. His favourite things are running Tai Chi classes, Connor Rozzee from the Port Adelaide Football Club and going to the gym. Thankyou also to Bupa who have made our Gawler Clinic part of their members first network. Online bookings will reopen on the website for Balaklava by weeks end. There is a significant wait in Gawler at the moment but i’ll add some clinics in shortly. James has also been very busy at Port Pirie and his help has been a godsend kindest regards, Libby
