17.01.2022 Carers Tasmania and Care2Serve were proud to sponsor the Tasmanian Palliative Care Award for Outstanding Palliative Care Volunteer/Carer. The much deserved winner was Erin Gunson. Erin embraced the solo role of fulltime carer, for her late beloved father over a period of 5 years. Each week, Erin would provide relevant medical staff with a detailed written overview of her father’s current condition, often bringing various medical disciplines, together. Erin’s life experience i...n business management provided her with many of the necessary skills to undertake the holistic care that palliation requires. Erin’s commitment to her father, her love, dedication and undertaking the ‘work’ required to support someone at the end of life is indicative of so many carers in Tasmania. Erin is the first ever carer to win a Palliative Care Award. Palliative Care Tasmania See more
