21.01.2022 Caretakers Cottage programs are remaining open during this Covid 19 outbreak. The crisis refuge is currently full and we are working with residents to adopt a Team Caretakers approach to keep each other safe. We will accommodate new clients should beds become available. We have plans to continue operations should we be locked down or have a resident who tests positive. Options is operating with all caseworkers working from home contacting all clients every 48 hours, providing food hampers where necessary. Entity is also currently full and providing direct worker support in the residential house and phone support for those living independently. Stay safe

19.01.2022 Great to meet with new FACS Minister Gareth Ward to here his enthusiasm to engage with the NGO sector and to see youth homelessness as a child protection matter rather than just a roof over a homeless persons head issue. I am optomistic that he will work with us.

01.01.2022 With all the controversy about schools banning mobile phone we have had a solution at Caretakwrs for years. At dinnertime everyone puts their phone in the plastic box in the middle of the dinning table and everyone appears happy to me.
