18.01.2022 CRUCIAL UPDATE RE WHYALLA NURSING HOME As i mentioned in media last week, the A Current Affair story on the horrific conditions in the Kindred Living Whyalla Ag...ed Care Facility spurred on two high level inquries, at a Federal level via the Aged Care Quality Commission and State Level via the Adult Safeguarding Unit. I can assure everyone, contrary to what management at the Facility is suggesting, these inquires ARE ONGOING. There remains significant issues at the Facility, the SA Covid lockdown Unfortunately hampered progress for a short period. What remains CRUCIAL is this next step if we are to have any hope in providing long term change for the residents and staff. Over 34 individuals have come forward to me or others to share their information regarding this Facility. Now WE ALL must do the following THIS WEEK. There are TWO NUMBERS below and I implore that EVERYONE who has Information regarding this Facility make contact WITH BOTH. If we don't nothing substantial will occur. People can remain anonymous if they wish. The crucial part is the amount of reports that get made. I remain in contact with all levels of government and assure all this is a critical stage we are at and it is the right one. If you or anyone you know has EVER WORKED, STILL WORKS OR HAS HAD A LOVED ONE in this Facility PLEASE MAKE A REPORT to BOTH following report lines. It's critical BOTH are Contacted. We have the attention of the highest offices across the country, ministerial also. Please let's not waste this opportunity to finally fix this. I can do no more until this is done. Again you can remain anonymous. Aged Care Quality Commission 1800 951 822 Adult Safeguarding unit SA 1800 372 310 I will provide further information as the week progresses. Please share far and wide. Best way to share anonymously is take a screenshot of this post and share that way.

18.01.2022 An update has been made to Residential Aged Care restrictions in South Australia. . The Emergency Management (Residential Aged Care Facilities No 11) (COVID-19)... Direction 2020 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Residential Aged Care Facilities No 12) (COVID-19) Direction 2020. This new Direction comes into effect at 0001hrs on Thursday 5 November 2020 . The new Direction provides an update to changes in restrictions for people visiting and working at Aged Care Facilities Care and support visits are no longer restricted to 1 person or 2 persons together. There is no longer a restriction on the number of care and support visits a resident can have. A personal care worker whose primary role is to support residents with their daily care needs, to the extent reasonably possible should not provide care to a resident at another Residential Aged Care Facility. However, should they provide care at more than one facility the facility must notify the Facility Operator that they are doing so, with the Facility being required to keep a register of those workers who do provide care at more than one facility. A Residential Aged Care Facility operator must ensure all persons who provide care to a resident who has undertaken a COVID-19 test wears appropriate personal protective equipment until the test result is known. . All existing directions, frequently asked questions and other information can be found here: https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/emergency-declarations If you require further information you can call the SA COVID-19 Information Line on 1800 253 787 between the hours of 9am to 5pm 7 days per week or go to the SA Health website at www.sahealth.sa.gov.au or www.sa.gov.au/covid-19

18.01.2022 Heartening news for the team at Anglicare SA. The brilliant leadership of Peter Sandeman and his team across their Residential Aged Care Facilities has shone through. Let's continue to wish them every success. ... I have appreciated the personal updates also from Peter, again showing transparency and integrity are essential qualities in the delivery of high quality aged care services and remain so even when dealing with a crisis like Covid 19. So good to be able to share some good news. My thoughts also are with the staff in isolation.

17.01.2022 South Australia lockdown update

17.01.2022 An article by Gabriel Polychronis in tomorrow's paper highlights the ongoing issues at the kindred Living Whyalla Aged Care Facility. The good people of whyalla and the residents and staff of this Facility deserve so much better than what they have had. The stories once again are heartbreaking. ... The pictures don't lie. I have many more too graphic to put online. Yes too GRAPHIC. Let that sink in for a minute... The response from management like so many so often is to deny diminish and dismiss. When the proof is irrefutable, the evidence clear and the situation stares you in the face why the hell don't they Acknowledge and Fix instead of this usual gameplay. I'm so fed up with it. So are millions of others across the nation. It's the same situation almost every time Anyone and everyone who knows information regarding this Facility in Whyalla in addition to and including the over 36 people so far who have come forward, I now implore to contact the SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ADULT SAFEGUARDING UNIT and The Federal AGED CARE QUALITY COMMISSION. The feedback I have received so far from those that have done so is very positive. Especially the Adult Safeguarding unit. It's the only way we are going to ensure Whyalla has a safe well resourced caring Facility for the Vulnerable elderly there. It's the least they deserve. https://www.adelaidenow.com.au//9e6af0be2f5b1b6502da58954f

14.01.2022 The Aged Care Royal Commission is working with its vendor for electronic hearing support & document management to ascertain the impact of a recent cyber security incident. At this time we are not aware of any evidence that the Royal Commission’s information has been accessed.

13.01.2022 READ it and weep Australia.

04.01.2022 Will have an update tomorrow regarding the Kindred Living Whyalla Aged Care Facility and progress regarding multi level ongoing Investigatons and crucial next steps. Any suggestions the Investigatons are over ARE INCORRECT

01.01.2022 Frustrating that an important part of the story didn't make it from on line to the print edition and that is the CRITICAL need for all the whistleblowers and others to now make contact with SA ADULT SAFEGUARDING UNIT & the federal AGED CARE QUALITY COMMISION And make a Report. Without this step being taken serious change desperately needed unfortunately will probably not occur. This is much more than a story about scabies, which by the way aren't bloody alleged as the headi...ng suggests, it's CONFIRMED BY A DOCTOR AND THE EVIDENCE OF SUCH PROVIDED. The denials by management in the article show everyone what we are up against. They are quite frankly vermin, Including their so called independent external advisers, nothing more than a piece of shit themselves intent on making bucket loads of money off the back of misery. I don't hold much hope in the Quality Commission, but I'm willing to give benefit of the doubt, but I DO with the Adult Safeguarding Unit so for goodness sake make a report.
