The parents organised a drive-through Mothers Day Stall, Staff Thank You Breakfast and, most recently, provided a hot chocolate treat for every child at the Donvale campus! Thank you to the CDPA parents for their hard work and creativity to help keep the community united.

23.01.2022 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and R U OK Day reminds us to check in with our friends and loved ones. Here are some great ideas from our Year 12s about how to reach out and stay connected during this time.

23.01.2022 Have you heard about our ‘Invitation to Wellbeing’? If you haven’t yet joined us for one of these sessions, don’t worry, there are plenty more to come! You can also access recordings of previous sessions at any time. Here’s a quick look at what’s happening: - On each Thursday through to the end of term, Dr Arne Rubinstein presents a live evening webinar on whole family wellbeing. These are fun, interactive parent and children sessions that will build family relationships and ...help you find opportunities for growth during lockdown. - On Fridays we have Sofia Levin in the kitchen, who will focus on nutritional wellbeing by showing us how to cook healthy and delicious treats. - Mondays feature a live webinar with sports psychiatrist Dr Adam Deacon, looking at physical wellbeing and challenging us to embrace the lack of structured play as we each find ways to be active. - On Tuesdays we will look at our creative wellbeing with Will Centurion, a performing artist who is also a psychologist. You will be asked to consider what it means to be creative, and to look at ways to sustain your creativity. - Finally, on Wednesdays the ‘Midweek Rev Up’ series continues, with our School Chaplain Revd Gerry Riviere feeding our spiritual wellbeing. 20.01.2022 On the eve of convening One World: Together at Home, a historic global event aimed at fighting COIVD-19, CEO of Global Citizen and OCG Hugh Evans (2001) took time out of his busy schedule to send a message of support for an upcoming event of our own. Starting next week, the Carey Community Challenge will see our community come together to support each other during this difficult period of social distancing. Through this challenge, teams will work together to complete a virtu...al race around Australia, while at the same time supporting the health and wellbeing of each other by staying socially connected throughout the journey. 02.01.2022 'As children grow, they develop connection to the outside world beyond their immediate family. This is valuable for enabling them to find their place in the world, developing an understanding of how society works and recognising shared values. The Carey community is a safe place for children to do this. As such a large community with so many different elements, we are well placed to support children’s foray into the big, wide world.' Our Director of ELC at Kew, Wendy Siedler, explains how the whole Carey community contributes to the lives of our youngest students. (Photo taken before mask wearing was made mandatory in Melbourne)

02.01.2022 We would like to recognise the tremendous efforts of our CLOSA parent group who worked with MedFamily to secure and deliver vital personal protective equipment (PPE) to Melbourne hospitals. Australian healthcare providers are currently experiencing a critical shortage of PPE and these generous donations have been praised by the hospitals who have received them. Dr Stephen Warrillow, Director of Intensive Care at the Austin Hospital, wrote to express his thanks: ‘The ICU at A...ustin Health is extremely grateful for the support we have received from CLOSA and MedFamily. Having access to high-quality personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential to the work of our clinical team as they care for critically ill COVID-19 patients. ‘The timely and generous donation by MedFamily with the support of the Carey community has provided a wonderful boost to our supply of PPE and lifted the confidence of our front-line ICU doctors, nurses and allied health staff. ‘It is inspiring that, even through these most challenging of times when many in society are facing considerable hardship, MedFamily and CLOSA are able to recognise the essential work we do in ICU and work together for the benefit of the whole community. ‘As Director of Intensive Care here at the Austin, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Carey community, and commend MedFamily and CLOSA for their initiative to support our life-saving work at the front-line in the fight against COVID-19.’ Such an incredible example of our community stepping up when others are in need. Thank you to everyone involved in this wonderful initiative!
