25.01.2022 We love hearing from out happy Caribee customers and just had to share Kyrsten’s story about her 16 year old Caribee backpack! Hi. I just wanted to share a bit of love about my Caribee backpack. I purchased my backpack in 2004 when I first began training as an outdoor instructor. I needed something comfortable and durable to use as a day pack when I went hiking, rock climbing and mountain biking with groups of children. I was still in highschool at the time and my backpack d...oubled as a school bag for 2 years. Oh, also, I used it for the overnight camps and canoe hikes I used to go on with the scout troop I ran, I used it as a pillow a few times too. In 2006 I moved from Australia to the UK and my trusty bag came with me as hand luggage. I continued to use my bag almost every day in my work as an activities instructor. It has travelled up Mountains in snow and hail and been dragged through gorges and up the sides of cliffs. it been lowered 100s of times from the top of rock faces and it's been dragged through caves. I used it as hand luggage on all of my adventures around Europe, always handy, always fitting more in than I expected. Eventually I trained in bushcraft and survival skills and my bag held my axes and knifes. It also held the hot chocolate and cups for the young offenders I worked with, it has propped up injured limbs and heard the sad stories of many young people and heard the laughter of others. My husband and I got married and my bag came on our honeymoon, travelling in a campervan around Tasmania. When we had children it worked as our change bag, filled to the brim with nappies and changes of clothes, with coffee in its drink holders. We went travelling with our children around Europe, on planes and trains and buses. It cushioned their heads when they drifted off in the long journeys across countries and supplied them with toys and pens and paper when they were bored. My bag has been to refugee camps in France. filled with supplies for people displaced from their homes. It has aided in the offering of hope to those who have none. My bag has helped me move my family from England to Australia, sent in advance, filled with treasured things for our arrival here. My bag has taken on a new role now. Although it's been there before. Filled to the top with books and pens, carrying my dreams of becoming a midwife. It is the bag I take to university now. 16 years later, it is still helping me to achieve everything I need to. So, thank you, for making a bag that has lasted through all life has given me.
