19.01.2022 Practical Dental TIPS During COVID-19 lock down! During temporary closure of our clinic.. Phone calls have been mostly associated with Broken tooth/ fillings or gum infection.... 1. Eat safe - avoid hard chewy foods or snacks like skittles, pork crackling, beef jerky or hard muslies. 2.Everything in moderation - avoid acidic drinks or pickled foods that erode your teeth and cause sensitivity. 3. Enjoy your drinks but don’t chomp on ice cubes.. it can cause cracks on teeth and fillings. 4. Look after your teeth and gums Prevention is best! Brush thoroughly- using a soft toothbrush. Remember don’t scrub them too harsh. Floss daily- keep your gums healthy ! Warm salty water rinses help if you are experiencing inflammation , bleeding or tender gums! 5. Relax - Clenching or grinding? Try and relax before bed, take a warm bath or shower. Stretch your neck and shoulders to relieve tension. If you already have a night splint protect your teeth. Becareful when you are yawning or taking big bites... Jaw lock during lock down is not great. Stay safe everyone . Help us help you.

Patient had periodontal care - gum treatment before he was able to have missing gaps replaced with dental implants. One of our best patients for staying on top of his oral hygiene! The only regret this patient has is neglecting his teeth and gums in the past. Unfortunately bone loss as a result of gum disease is not recoverable. But improving your oral hygiene will help you maintain what you have. 4-7 days of tenderness around surgical site is expected after Implant surgery ( sinus lift + use of CGF in this case) Healing period and final completion 3 months total .
