22.01.2022 A certificate of appreciation to our ex treasurer Mr Ted Smith for the many years of service on our committee.
20.01.2022 The wonderful Shirley Smith is our 2019 Cronulla Woman of the Year. Nonagenarian Shirley has been recognised for her many years of voluntary service to the comm...unity. She has been a committee member of the Caringbah RSL Sub Branch since 2005 and President for the past five years. She has a long history with the defence forces having served as an army nurse and is a full member of the Returned Services League. Shirley is actively involved in raising funds for community projects, many of which benefit veterans. She actively serves on a number of Sutherland Hospital committees and works with her local Catholic Church assisting the community. Ruan Sims was a state finalist for NSW Women of the Year. Ruan is a firefighter, professional rugby league player, media commentator, NRL Ambassador, role model and a domestic violence and mental health advocate. She is passionate about using the platforms provided through her work and sport to engage, educate, empower and enable people from all walks of life. Kate Fitzsimons was a state finalist for NSW Young Woman of the Year. Kate is a remarkable young woman who left her corporate career in 2013 to become the Director of the @Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation, founded in memory of Kate’s sister Nicole who died in a motorbike accident in Thailand in 2012. The Foundation aims to educate young Australians on the importance of travel safety overseas and also assists talented and dedicated young performing artists and sportspeople with financial assistance to achieve their dreams. Kate’s Travel Safety Education Program about the devastating consequences of risk taking overseas and the importance of having travel insurance has reached many tens of thousands of senior school students across Australia and America. Kate was the 2018 Cronulla Woman of the Year. Congratulations to Shirley, Kate and Ruan on their fine achievements, their dedication and their generosity of spirit. #NSWWOTY #IWD2019

05.01.2022 Great shot of our service
03.01.2022 ANZAC DAY update for the Caringbah from the RSL Sub Branch: Shirley Smith President of the Caringbah RSL Sub Branch would like to advise residents of the Caringbah community that the regulations imposed to contain the Coronavirus will not take away the proud objectives of Anzac Day, that is to remember those heroes who paid the supreme sacrifice by sacrificing their lives in the name of Australia, and pay reverence to those still living. Our Sub Branch will also support Nati...onal approach to have residents stand in their front yards or driveways at 0600 hours for a moments silence to remember our dead. I know of some bugle players who will sound the last post at this time. I have always said that we have the best community spirit! The time of 0600 hours is significant because it was just prior to sunrise on the Gallipoli Peninsular that the Australians and New Zealanders stormed ashore at Anzac Cove. It is anticipated that the last post will be sounded on ABC TV at 0600 hours. For those who rise early to pay their respects are encouraged, to think of the many thousands of service men and women who gave their lives, during war, fighting for us.
02.01.2022 The fabulous SES that we’re a great help today
