08.01.2022 CARING FOR PEOPLE CHRISTMAS APPEAL! Aiming to empower the passionate and dedicated, female teachers across our schools in India. It started with a few plastic chairs on the front porch of a lady’s house. That lady’s name is Tanuja, and this is her story. ... I suffered much after my marriage, she shared with Sam Cawthorn and the Caring for People team during a recent trip to India, where approximately 70% of women face domestic violence. In spite of her suffering, Tanuja had a passion for others. I saw the terrible condition of the people, she said. I asked ‘what is the best solution?’... School is the best way. Tanuja quit her job, gathered the poor village children and taught them from her porch. Now, Caring for People partners with her to deliver education to women and over 140 children.
