25.01.2022 The cruel irony of protecting statues dedicated to murderers while allowing indigenous heritage to be mined and destroyed. The real vandalism has always been colonisation.

24.01.2022 Were on at 2pm - the event is free to stream but donations are welcome!

24.01.2022 If you're asking why we should have Lidia Thorpe as a greens senator, Mandy from Fem&ist Films has made a video outlining exactly why.

24.01.2022 We celebrate bla(c)k excellence everyday. This week, we’re taking the opportunity to share about some non-Indigenous people in our life and how they use their ...skills and platform to celebrate, elevate and advocate. Meet @carladrawz , the designer of our Always Was Tee. Carla gifted this design to us last year after we received our cease and desist for selling the Aboriginal flag. Carla is an illustrator heavily involved in climate action and environmental art. Carla is non-indigenous, however uses these pieces as a means of paying the rent and giving back. Carla says 'we can not ignore the relationship First Nation people have with the environment, and how colonisation has only widened the disconnect with the natural world'. For our non-Indigenous audience: How are you using your skills and platform to support Aboriginal people and rights today and everyday? #NAIDOC2020

24.01.2022 an oldie but a goodie process video

23.01.2022 This weeks @goodtype & @secretwalls prompt goes without saying, also I had some great colours picked out until I realised the brief was black and white

23.01.2022 In solidarity with Beirut and Lebanon @ink.boy and I designed a charity sticker with 100% of proceeds going to the Lebanese Red Cross. I drafted up a quick sketch of the piece and Mike has spent a lot of time carefully piecing this artwork together to make it perfect, its personal for him as his grandmother was born in Lebanon. Like many of the Lebanese diaspora, they feel the pain and grief that came with the news of the explosion. This incident was the product of a corrupt and failed government. Click the links in our bios to secure one for pre-order and to support the cause, share this around or share links to the LRC for direct donations #lebaneseredcross #lebanon #solidarity #solidaritywithlebanon #beirut

22.01.2022 Im tired of political art I just want to draw frogs - OH WAIT this frog wants to defund the police??! well I best let them express their views because its good to hold those in positions of power accountable. To those cops in Flemington confiscating donations, we see you. Check my stories and write a letter to dan. A good tip for life: make your emails unique, avoid sending automated ones via a petition that can get blocked. Unique emails from your personal account have to be taken account of #acab #frogsofinstagram

21.01.2022 Maybe shes underwhelmed by this boring dystopia, maybe shes recently watched beauty and the beast

19.01.2022 This third instalment is inspired by Ruth Wilson Gilmore, a geographer and prison abolitionist. I recently listened to her speak on Intercepted Podcast and highly recommend it for anyone wanting to understand what a world without mass incarceration could look like. Prison abolition isnt as absolute as closing prisons overnight, its about taking community lead preventative measures to break the cycle of of marginalised people making up the majority of prison populations. If youre reading this and cant comprehend the history of policing and prisons and how they are designed to protect capital and the status quo, listen to Ruth, or read about abolition online. When we defend cops and prisons, we protect powerful and corrupt institutions who profit immensely from imprisonment. Tell ya kids. #abolishprisons #abolishpolice

18.01.2022 I’m going to start publishing reviews of my art: Assuming 5 stars Decapitation and eating humans are just aren’t on my level of comedy. You’re so wholesome, a real laugh ... - someone from the Gold Coast

15.01.2022 BUT ALSO CLIMATE CHANGE @rouserlab sent me this fab shirt in exchange for an artwork (coming soon but this pic ft my gifs will do for now) amidst a pandemic it’s easy to lose sight of what’s not immediately in front of us. Although for so many marginalised people climate change is already here and affecting their quality of life. Viruses could be the new normal, so forget 2021 being your year if the root cause is continuously being ignored. The same people hit hardest by the virus will feel the impacts of the climate too, let’s have those climate conversations, let’s hold greedy corporations accountable and push for climate action because our lives depend on it #butalsoclimatechange

14.01.2022 Since this was maybe the most important thing I made this year I’ve added a download to my shop for just $5AUD. 100% of proceeds will be donated to Sisters Inside who do crucial work, helping women exit the vicious cycle of poverty and imprisonment. They have fought against draconian laws that see First Nations women sent to jail for unpaid fines and I would love to redirect some money their way with your help #peopleoverprofit #blacklivesmatter #sistersinside

14.01.2022 Havent shared any client work for ages @brother.bear.cafe are a small sustainable cafe based in Adelaide Hills. The owner Jess asked for a complete brand overhaul based around this artwork which will hopefully make it onto merch in the future the artwork can be broken up and individual elements and patterns guess you can say its very reusable

13.01.2022 Just a quick little study of a dream I once had, not sure what it means

11.01.2022 A delicious initiative to combat the decline of business to Asian restaurants since covid - @moreofsomethinggood asks artists to highlight their favourite Asian dishes. Mine belongs to Kyodai Katsu who have continued to deliver only the best since lockdown came into place. Their teishoku sets are high in taste and value check out all the tasty artworks at @moreofsomethinggood

10.01.2022 When you have so much you want to say and stumble in doing so. The past few weeks have felt like an overdue eruption - and by no means am I a proper source of information but I have a sense of responsibility. So many folks who experience the discrimination that I only read about have created labour intensive art/writing/reading lists and stats. The people represented in this image do the emotionally exhausting and generally unpaid labour that is - highlighting racial discrimi...nation and inequality. Which is why we now constantly read about the importance of educating ourselves, without harassing black creatives. The work is out there, it exists and is available for us to purchase, support, and put into practice. We face colossal systemic issues that make us squirm, and while we may be progressives at heart we need to tackle this inequality if we want to see progress in our lifetime. It just wont happen fast enough otherwise, and people are suffering right now because of it. If you are an Indigenous, queer, or bla(c)k organisation/NPF that could use some design services: I am more than ready to offer you custom artwork free of charge for you to use and own as you please. This is a small offering against what is a tidal wave of oppression but its the most effective means of my work and time being put to use. I dont expect to be inundated with requests and would prefer BIPOC creatives get paid for work - but if you dont have cash to spare just get in touch and we can sort something out. Ill keep sharing resources to my stories and relevant links for donations in my highlights. See more

09.01.2022 I hope I can look back on this post as a marker and feel relieved the world wasn’t cursed with another four years of ineptitude. If not, hi future Carla, enjoy that last flicker of hope

08.01.2022 If you see this design anywhere except at Clothing The Gap assume its been stolen. This rip is from company: Aussie Life or on Facebook as @lovetheworld. Please dont buy these products. Theyve been contacted and said they will remove the designs and refund customers but everything is still online

08.01.2022 Greens members, we're counting on you to decolonise our politics voting opens June 4 I had the pleasure of meeting Lidia at a @femandist_films event earlier this year and drew this in support of her nomination for senate. Colonisation has lead to environmental destruction, and we need people who have a connection to country in these leadership roles

08.01.2022 If you have the time to rage about Bill Gates, 5G, and how this virus isnt a big deal then you clearly have enough time to get outside and make your garden enticing to insects. Insect populations are in severe decline and its a real issue that threatens biodiversity. Get rid of your lawn, stop using pesticides and sprays, and learn to love your spidey room mates - dont squish em!

07.01.2022 My first tiktok - find me @carladrawz

05.01.2022 See this question floating around heaps - some answers from Clothing The Gap

05.01.2022 6 days left to pre-order this design as a tee or longsleeve https://everpress.com/stay-herm

05.01.2022 Illustration for @victoriangreens and their youth survey for under 30s http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/5764644/2020YouthFBo

04.01.2022 We only have to look in our own backyard to witness police brutality. More than 400 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have died in custody since the end of the royal commission into Aboriginal deaths in custody in 1991. David Dungay, Tanya Day, Kumanjayi Walker are just some of many - and in thirty years no police offer has ever convicted of these murders. I am of the belief that police serve to protect the status quo and the elite. They are deeply rooted in systemic racism and allow genocide to continue in 2020.

04.01.2022 Wrapping up some branding suites this weekend, theres never been a better time to rebrand!

01.01.2022 Happy NAIDOC week everyone, it’s been a hot minute since I revisited this artwork and with the very relevant theme of Always Was Always Will Be now seemed like a better time than ever. I have lived and profited on Boon Wurrung country for most of my life. There is over 65,000 years of First Nations history that our education system largely ignores, and NAIDOC week is the time to start embracing our true history if you haven’t already. A side note: I think I’ll always be thanking @clothingthegap for manufacturing this artwork and seeing it spread wider than I could have ever imagined. it doesn’t really feel like mine anymore and has a life of its own #naidoc #naidocweek #alwayswasalwayswillbe #animation

01.01.2022 This World Earth Day Im participating in @MateActNow - a poster protest for the digital generation. My type piece has a retro feel because Mother Nature has been left on hold for decades, maybe we should stop ghosting her.
