10.01.2022 Finally getting some art time on my verandah this evening. . As they say, we all go through seasons in life and my recent season has been more about my family than my art. . It's been a rough year for many of us and it has meant that some quality family connection time was very much needed around here. ... . It's hard not to be judgemental of myself when I am not able to create regularly. . 06.01.2022 I LOVE collage! Most of my paintings start like this pic, with layers of different book pages & tissue paper. . Depending on the papers I have laid down previously, the different mediums I use react in various ways with the papers, which adds to the element of surprise. Then I usually follow my intuition about which move to make next.... . I always use old books that I have read and loved. I know that may seem a bit wasteful but the rats in the shed kinda did me a favour, because books with eaten pages can't really be used otherwise! 06.01.2022 Wonderful art tutorial by @whitneyfreya - thanks Whitney! A gorgeous simple Buddha that has so much meaning behind it, especially since my dog who passed away was named Buddha. Whitney says painting is meditation and I totally agree with her.
