25.01.2022 Wishing all Mothers a wonderful Mothers Day... https://youtu.be/j2zhVs1cUgU

24.01.2022 Id like to share some simple steps for anyone seeking greater happiness, and to take a break from all the doom and gloom... about the environment, Sydneys congestions, the current state of politics, whatever bothers you, etc... 1. Learn to place greater trust in others, and accept others as they are; 2. Do things to earn trust from others, and be with those who accept you; 3. Forgive others who are genuine in their apology to you;... 4. Say sorry and mean it deeply through your future actions; 5. Share your wisdom and experiences with others, help them to the best of your ability, and be kind whenever possible; 6. Accept help with gratitude, but not be lazy in effort; 7. Work hard, smarter, and smile with all your achievements; 8. Tend to your failures and others shortcomings with compassion; 9. Understand Karma; and 10. Seek professional help when the help of friends and family may not be enough. See more

19.01.2022 Early Diagnosis and Treatment Saves Money! This eleven-year-old patient presented for a dental review yesterday. We were very pleased to see that the premolar tooth next to her first molar was erupting into its natural position in her dental arch. This good result was due to early intervention about two years ago when we placed a temporary metal band with a welded wire to limit the amount of "forward tipping" of the first molar tooth.... This treatment has prevented a costly and complex orthodontic problem from developing in this patient. For more information on the importance of early diagnosis and care, click http://carlingforddental.com.au/childrens-dentistry.html

18.01.2022 The photos below shows the "before and after" images of a sixteen-year-old patients tooth with a large dental cavity. A metal clamp and green rubber dam are temporarily placed to isolate the tooth during placement of the tooth coloured resin restoration. What is most interesting is that this patient presented at the dental surgery without pain nor discomfort. This example proves the point that "no pain" does not usually equate to "no treatment"!

11.01.2022 Latest News on the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)... According to print and television media over the weekend, the government funding for the current Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) will be axed from the 1st of July 2016. If this occurs and without a replacement scheme, then about 3 million children, who are currently eligible to receive dental services under the CDBS, will have reduced access to the vital preventive treatment the CDBS currently offers. ... It is however not too late! In spite of the Governments plan to kill the CDBS, the Australian Dental Association (ADA) will be actively working to keep the CDBS operational. It is imperative that patients and everyone in the community also speak up and let their elected government representatives know of their opposition to the axing of funds to the CDBS. We will keep all our patients informed about how to keep the CDBS alive watch this space!

09.01.2022 Did you know that around 3.4 million children aged 2-17 years are able to receive up to $1,000 of subsidized dental services under the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)? For more information: http://carlingfordsmiles.com.au/medicare-child-dental-benef

07.01.2022 Another very pleasant dental visit at the clinic. Getting your teeth taken care of makes you a happier person for sure!

07.01.2022 I have treated many patients who reported to me that the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) gave them the opportunity to have their first dental treatment after many years. For families with low incomes and particularly those families with several kids, the CDBS is perhaps the only way these children would have the opportunity to see a dentist, to fix or prevent dental problems, and get them into a good dental habit that will carry them into their adult life. One sad examp...le was a sixteen-year-old girl who told me that it was her first ever dental visit and that without the CDBS, her parents wouldnt have cared to bring her in. This sixteen-year-old patient presented without any pain nor concerns about her dental health. We quickly diagnosed and fixed a big and obvious (at least to us) decay, with a "routine dental filling. My message to her and her parents on the importance of regular dental visits in preventing small cavities becoming larger problems was also greatly appreciated. The delivery of this message and the vital preventative treatment for this patient was not possible without the CDBS. The CDBS and our dental filling had prevented this child and young adult from losing her permanent molar tooth. It also saved her family the substantial costs of keeping this tooth because the problem was diagnosed and treated earlier. We have also averted the public health system of the enormous costs if she later attended a public hospital for emergency treatment for her dental pain. The advertisements about the eligibility criteria for the CDBS has also made patients aware of the importance of the dentists role in dental care and prevention. When the government is willing to pay for a publicly funded service, the community will grasp better the concept that dental care at the dentist is an important health consideration. Axing the CDBS would otherwise send the wrong message to the public at large and undermine the dental professions years of work on public awareness campaign of dental diseases. Keep the CDBS alive by signing the petition below!

04.01.2022 Wishing all our wonderful patients a safe Christmas break and a happy New Year in 2018. We will return on 23rd January 2018.

03.01.2022 The November and December months of each year marks the most hectic time for our surgery because more people than usual want to have their check-ups just before the Christmas and end of year holidays! Others also want to complete any significant dental work to utilise their remaining health fund benefit before January 2019. We highly recommend that if you need an appointment this year, to book in early to avoid disappointment and delays in being seen. We are extending our ope...rating hours and days for the next few weeks to serve this increased demand better. Please also note that we are closed for three weeks in January 2019 for staff annual leave. From all of us at Carlingford Dental Surgery, we thank all our patients for allowing us the opportunity to provide you and your family our dental expertise and care. We wish you and your family all the best for the upcoming festive season and a happy and healthy new year! https://goo.gl/posts/rx1fM
