24.01.2022 Ben & Nikki How is this for a winter wedding with style? Ben and Nikki were married in June of 2019 and I am so excited to get my hands on these photos, finally. Why, you ask? Because Bens jackets are one of my all-time favourites.... When Ben first came in to talk about creating something unique and special, texture and simplicity were at the forefront of his mind. Upon reflecting on his big day, Ben noted, As the wedding was in the heart of winter I was after a warm heavy textured jacket with a design that had longevity. I wanted to keep the colour traditional and timeless so we considered fabrics in classic black and white tones. The rest of the suit was built around the jacket with the intention of not competing with it. The cloth we chose for Bens jacket was a cloth we use mostly for overcoats weighing in at 550 grams. Its Italian wool, silk, and alpaca blend in heavy boucle style from the masters at Styl Biella and has an unbelievable drape a texture. We paired this sports jacket with a beautiful pair of black flannel trousers, which in itself has a lovely texture and complimented the matte finish of the jacket. Bens best mate and best man, Tom, for whom we created a beautiful slate blue made-to-measure suit in the same flannel we sourced for Bens trousers, flanked Ben. The pair look very dapper standing side by side. I love the sing in the rain routine they performed for the camera. When asked about the whole process of going down the made-to-measure path, Ben said, We enjoyed the consultation process with Carl and found him to be insightful and decisive with his feedback and direction, which gave us great confidence in the outcome. We loved the final result and had lots of great feedback on the big day. A big thank you to Ben and Nikki and congratulations on your big day!

23.01.2022 Bowen & Britt I love a black-tie wedding; theyre elegant, timeless, and memorable. A man never looks more handsome than when he is wearing a tuxedo. Speaking from experience, it makes you feel special. It creates a more special feeling than any other ensemble, so its only appropriate that wearing a tux marks one of the most important days of your life. When Bowen and Britt first came in to see me, we looked at a different version of a tux (or dinner suit) and what a black-t...ie wedding could look like. Not all tuxedos have to be plain black and Bowen wanted to look different from his groomsmen in a subtle but obvious way. I always like the groom to stand out, so I presented Bowen with a range of textured black fabrics and a range of plain black options for his groomsmen. I thought it would be nice to have the groomsmen in a classic black cloth with satin detail and Bowen could wear a jacket that had a little flair about it. Both Britt and Bowen fell in love with one of my favourite fabrics from Vitale Barberis Canonico, the Italian masters of textiles, a beautiful black jacquard weave cloth that had a diamond-like weave through the entire cloth. Bowens Made to Measure tuxedo was styled and finished with a narrow shawl collar lapel with contrast satin, black satin buttons, and satin trim on the jacket pockets. On first look Bowen and his groomsmen look to be wearing the same suits, but up close and in certain lights, the beautiful weave in Bowens jacket shone, setting him apart from the super stylish pack. As for the dashing groomsmen, we utilised our Made to Order suit program and the guys all wore out Romano Cocktail Suit in black. The slim lines and peak lapel resemble a dinner suit so closely that we all we needed to add was a satin bow tie and were we done! Classy, effortless, and cost-effective. Our Made to Order program is an online program, but for bridal parties of 3 or more we are happy to fit and style in the studio alongside the groom. Bowen and Britt were married in late January 2020, back when the term social distancing hadnt even be uttered and when weddings could have more than five guests. They celebrated their nuptials on the beautiful grounds of Coombe Yarra Valley and Britt looked stunning in her white gown from Mariana Hardwick. The bridal party looked elegant in their all-black attire, as did the father of the bride also wearing a custom Carl Nav - Individually Tailored suit. Congratulations to Bowen and Britt! In speaking to many of you during this strange COVID-19 period that we are navigating, I realised that you still crave the need to feel stylish and professional. 21.01.2022 Look 1 Outfit number one is all about sartorial ease, the traditional silhouette of a tailored jacket, with more casual features such as the patch pockets and the three-over-two button roll. There is no canvas or fusing whatsoever in this garment, its entire structure relies on the heavily textured boucle weave cloth, which gives a beautifully relaxed drape. The absence of lining makes the jacket very light and easy to wear with lightweight sweaters or a T-Shirt. The pleated... drawstring trousers, made from 100% wool flannel, has a slightly wider leg than more traditional business trousers, which offer a more relaxed look and fit. The cloth which is sourced from Italian mill Filarte, was originally designed to be used for sports jackets. It is a heavier and sturdier cloth that offers beautiful drape, warmth, and durability. The herringbone pattern provides a variety of colour and texture and makes these trousers suitable for casual and business wear, depending on how you would like to style them.

06.01.2022 Sports Jacket Trends Winter 2020 Winter in Melbourne is looking a little different this year. As we find ourselves working from home or going into the office less frequently, we also find that our wardrobe needs are changing. Because of this, I have decided to showcase some of my favorite new trends in Sports Jackets. Remember that a sports jacket is a jacket that stands on its own. It does not belong to a suit and therefore does not have matching trousers. This is perfect fo...r the winter season as you can opt for a heavier, warmer, and a more textured fabric that will keep you warm and looking stylish. In terms of the styling of your sports jacket, remember that with bespoke and made-to-measure jackets, there is a range of options available. These include single or double-breasted, notched or peaked lapels, working buttonholes, and side or center vents. In keeping with a more relaxed style for the intention of smarter casual wear, I would opt for a three-over-two button, notched lapel with patch pockets and an unlined jacket, but we can talk more about that in person. When looking at trends, I like to look at colours first. Whilst the classic black, navy, and greys are always prominent, this season I love the addition of the more natural shades of brown, burgundy, and green. Youll see these colours represented beautifully in the images selected for you below. The next biggest trend is pattern and texture. Youll see that this season large checks are still very much present, as are textured weaves such as herringbone, boucle, and hopsack. All designed for warmth and a luxurious feel.
