23.01.2022 Hello lovely people! A late reminder/notification that I’ll be away on holidays... I will be back at work on Friday the 9th of August. I may not be able to text/call until Tuesday the 6th, so if you’d like to arrange an appointment... might be best to private message me on here. I’ll try to get back to people as soon as I can! Take care xxx

21.01.2022 Good news for Melbourne today! I hope that helps everyone feel a bit better. Unfortunately, my thumb is still in rehab. It says that it’s frustrated and wants to do hair, I sympathised and explained that we have a hand therapy appointment tomorrow so we will have more of an idea about when we can do hair again. It’s looking like a couple of weeks. I know everyone is biting at the bit to get their hair done, so I completely understand if you need to go elsewhere. As soon a...s I know when I can go back, I will be in touch with everyone. I will do my utmost to fit as many people in as I can. I am so sorry for the inconvenience. It really is shite having this delay now that salons can reopen. Take care everyone. I can’t wait to see you all and make you feel good with a new do. Xxx

20.01.2022 I hope everyone is coping okay. Just wanted to let clients know that I’ll be in touch as soon as I can. I had surgery on my broken thumb on Friday - the pain is worse than I’d anticipated (especially now that I’ve finished the hardcore pain relief ), typing with my middle finger is adding to the ache, and left handed typing takes forever! My thumb will be ready for the opening of hair salons though. Can’t wait. And thank you to all the people who have texted and brightened my days since this all started, and especially this last week since my bicycle accident.

14.01.2022 Hello again, so it’s still few weeks before my hand will have the strength (and no pain!) to do hair again. I am working hard to get back to everyone as quickly as I can. Please bear with me. I’m contacting clients in the order they were cancelled at the start of stage 4, and then requests since then. I want to see all of your faces (and hairs!) as soon as possible. Xxx Oh yes! and please text or FB message me if you’d like to be added to the list. (I will also be keeping a cancellation list once I’ve booked everyone in from the existing list.)

12.01.2022 Most of the swelling and bruising has gone! New fancy cast makes me feel like a robot (cool) and I can actually move my fingers and top of my thumb now cos they’re freeeeeeee!!! Thanks to the many people who gave me soooo much love after my last post... I don’t love posting about myself but realise it is an easy way to let a lot of people know what’s going on at the same time (plus all of the sweet messages I received really cheered me up). Just looked at an earlier photo and realised that my fingers were free before - I just couldn’t move them because of the swelling and pain! Memory is fallible!

08.01.2022 Hey hey!!! Some things to possibly take note of... *Christmas Day is around eight and a half weeks away. *My next available appointments are on Friday the 9th of November. *Saturdays and evening appointments for the rest of the year are filling up fast. *I may be taking some time off over Xmas and New Year.... On a personal note... if you don’t wear sunscreen under patterned stockings... you may have weird tan patterns on your legs!

05.01.2022 Given the new stage 3 restrictions announced yesterday, I feel that it is best for me to put a pause on work for the time being. I know that technically I can stay open as hairdressing is considered an essential service, but after taking everything into consideration such as Brunswick being a hot spot, the community transmission numbers and wanting to take action as quickly as possible to hopefully help slow numbers, it doesn’t feel right for me to keep working at this stage.... This isn’t an easy decision but protecting my clients, my loved ones and the community at large is really important to me. I will be in contact with all of my booked clients today. I’m going to take this one week at a time so that I can make the best decisions I can as this situation develops. Last time, I eased back into work by seeing a handful of clients per week which felt safe as things improved. I’m thinking I’ll do the same thing this time. And now, I would just like to say thank you. I have been overwhelmed by the love, support and understanding of my beautiful clients. Running a small business can be challenging (especially in weird times like this), but it has definitely shown me how incredibly blessed I am to get to have a career that I love and is only possible because of the beautiful humans that come to see me. Please take care of yourselves. I think everyone is doing a great job in this new world we find ourselves in. If anyone needs support, even if it’s just some texting chats, please reach out to me. Sending lots of virtual love to everyone. Xxx

03.01.2022 COVID-19 SALON UPDATE Thank you to all of my wonderful clients for the support you have shown me and my small business and especially at this time. I’m concerned for the safety of my clients and the community, so despite the government lifting the 30 minute restriction for salons, I will be temporarily closing from tomorrow (Friday the 27th of March). Please look after yourselves. Sending lots of love, Carly xxx
