That day, he decided he would grow his hair for her. Today Oscar cut 30cms off his hair to send to her in Holland. He also chose to raise money for the World’s Greatest Shave at the same time. Ever feel like there is no room inside your head along with the constant chatter. Yep well you’re preaching to the choir sister/ brother! Self-reflection can help you process your thoughts and feelings. When we keep our thoughts floating around in our heads, we only confuse or frustrate ourselves more. Getting your thoughts on paper can help you understand why you're feeling a certain way and make those feelings a little easier to navigate. Self-care is an important part of daily life, however during times of uncertainty that is COVID-19 the need for self-care is imperative. Self-care is often the first thing that gets sacrificed when life is busy and stressful, and people often think that taking time for themselves seems indulgent. But looking after your own wellbeing will help you get through this challenging time, and will help you to better care for others. I read this from the black dog institute and it resonates- Please put on your own oxygen mask first before helping others! Many of us have heard this important rule on flight safety recordings but it’s a useful phrase to remind us about the importance of self-care if you don’t look after yourself first, you won’t be able to help yourself or others. Do it for you! In turn everything you do for you helps you be the best version of you for those who fill your heart- your people, your tribe! A positive of Covid is some of the authentic friendships we have made- with our people. These are the people who are zero fucks given, the ones who make you laugh till it hurts, but listen with no judgement and don’t care about material things. They just love you for you.
