25.01.2022 I’m sure you have all heard the most recent government ruling with regard to weddings. As of 26 March 2020, your only option is to marry now, party later. A wedding can only proceed with those legally required to attend:... The celebrant. The couple. 2 x witnesses (who must be over the age of 18). And of course we must adhere to the 4 square metre social distancing regulations. : . Some couples are choosing to proceed this way; getting married now and partying with their family and friends at a later date (ie postponing their reception). I am offering a very special elopement package for couples choosing to proceed this way! Understandably, most are choosing to postpone the entire day, which I am also very happy to support!! 23.01.2022 Bin + Mick were married by me at the Sandstone Point Hotel Bin and I attend the same bootcamp - and she is truely one of the most beautiful, kind and thoughtful people I have ever met. 14.01.2022 Mr & Mrs McKinnon Zoe and Jack are high school sweethearts. At the end of year 11, their paths officially crossed when they attended the same party. Zoe and Jack ended up dancing together, the night was going great..untilZoe (who was drinking the teenage girl staple red vodka cruisers) accidentally spilt her entire drink all over Jacks brand spanking new white sneakers ... Zoe laughed (nervously), but Jack (smiling through gritted teeth) told her that it was ok. Zoe fell in love with Jacks smile then and there. Zoe and Jack explained that they started out as small town teenagers, with no clue about life, to dead-broke university students, to now young adults navigating careers and working toward a shared future. And the one constant through out every stage has been their unconditional love for each other. 11.01.2022 Mr & Mrs Armstrong Tracey and Matt met on a Friday evening...off the back of a coin toss. Tracey was on a girls night out with an indecisive friend and rather than aimlessly try to find the next on trend bar, the girls decided to follow the toss of a coin. If the coin toss was heads, they would have a drink at the next bar they found going left. And if tails, they would have a drink at the next bar they found going right. The rules were simple, no matter how bad the ba...r, one drink was compulsory. If there happened to be any talent at a bar, a second or third drink was permitted. Matt was out with his mates Andy and Tom at one of their favourite Friday night venues, the Victory Hotel, when the fate of the coin toss brought Tracey into the beer garden for one compulsory drink. Matt and Tracey struck up a conversation at the bar and the coin was not flipped again. Fast forward 7 years and they were married by me at Lightspace Brisbane. 11.01.2022 Before I became a celebrant I worked in Allied Health at The Prince Charles Hospital, and over the years have married quite a few couples who share a TPCH connection. Including Meghan and Anu who met at the hospital during Meghans first week working there. On the day Anu proposed, whilst Meghan was at work, he set about preparing the apartment with balloons, flowers, candles and a rolling collection of photos from their previous travels and life together.... Anu tells me he nearly passed out from blowing up 300 balloons! 06.01.2022 There is no greater feeling than seeing someone you love happy. I cannot watch this video without a smile - ear to ear (and maybe a couple of tears the first time I watched it). A few months ago I had the privilege of officiating the wedding of my brother Matt to his now husband Tim.... 06.01.2022 Damon recalls the exact moment that he realised he was in love with Lucy. They were at what is now their house when Lucy, quite surprisingly at the time, went out on a real limb and told Damon that she loved him. Damon remembers pausing - and he is sure Lucy thought it was because he was trying to conjure up a polite response that wasnt, thank you. But the reason he stopped was because he had been grappling with how to explain his feelings about Lucy for quite ...some timeand was taken off guard by how neatly LOVE summed it up. 06.01.2022 Im heading back to Gabbinbar Homestead tomorrow. So I thought it was timely to share these photos from Jane and Chris weddings Jane and Chris owe their paths crossing to Origin Energy. Jane was already working for the company when Chris joined as a consultant. One morning, on the teams usual coffee jaunt, Jane noticed a new face at the rear of the pack. A colleague introduced them, and a very formal handshake and locking of eyes followed.... Jane thought Chris was handsome, he was well dressed and had the perfect smile. In turn, Chris was very impressed by Jane, he thought she was gorgeous, and as an added bonus she ordered the same coffee as him. 03.01.2022 COVID-19 As the situation around the world related to COVID-19 continues to change, I wanted to reassure my couples that I have no plans to cancel any weddings and I continue to be available to couples who have booked me as their celebrant for face to face planning meetings. As a business, I will continue to Monitor Government regulations and recommendations. As an individual I will continue to implement high levels of personal hygiene (hand washing), and please do not be of...fended if I refrain from hugging you the next time we meet or shaking hands with your guests. If I become unwell, I have a contingency plan set out. To assist with this I ask that all ceremonies are finalised at least 2 weeks prior to your wedding date. If you have any concerns about your wedding, please feel free to contact me. I have already had a few couples wishing to change venues, or ceremony times - I strive to be as flexible as possible during this period! I say it time and time again, I am so blessed to work with such wonderful couples. My love, thoughts and sympathy go out to all of you who are struggling with uncertainty around your wedding day. 02.01.2022 Like many of my couples, Melinda and Gareth live interstate. So I met them (in person) for the very first time on their wedding day. It was so lovely to give them a hug! 01.01.2022 Damon remembers the exact moment he realised he was in love with Lucy. They were at what is now their house and Lucy, quite surprisingly at the time, went out on a real limb and told Damon that she loved him. Damon remembers pausing and he is sure Lucy thought it was because he was trying to conjure a polite response that wasnt thank you but the reason he had stopped was because he had been grappling with how to explain his feelings about Lucy for quite some timeand ...was taken off guard by how neatly LOVE summed it up. 01.01.2022 Stokehouse Q is a location dear to Hannah and Ben. It is a place where they have celebrated numerous occasions with those dearest to them, so they could not think of a more fitting setting for their wedding!
