21.01.2022 The more we rely on the outside world to tell us about our own food and eating, the less we trust our own body. In this day and age, it's pretty common to become reliant on meal plans, rules and instructions. The human body is amazing, we can relearn how to connect and listen to body cues. A great opportunity to create less noise, confusion, self berating and yo-yo dieting. ... . . . . #nondiet #dietitian #HAES #nutrition #apd #eatingdisorderrecovery #antidiet #healthnotweight #bodyimage #selfcare #nourish #intuitiveeatingofficial #intuitiveeating #food #eating #healthateverysize #diet #bingeeatingrecovery #mealplan #food #eating #dietsdontwork #riotsnotdiets

16.01.2022 The pandemic got us feeling all kinds of feels. It’s damn uncomfortable and many of us are extra vulnerable right now. It can be tempting to turn on ourselves, and our bodies in order to not feel the feels, or respond to the very rude weight loss advertisements that say ‘we should’. Your body needs you right now, exactly as it is. It needs regular nourishment - whatever that may mean for you. ... Take care of your body, as best you can, during this time. Don’t turn against it by trying to fight and change it. Not now, not ever. See more

16.01.2022 When you are smack bang in the middle of a diet, and everyone else seems to be "doing it right". You might find you are unable to control your self around food, eating so fast and so much it ends up hurting - physically and mentally. Know this....... It. Is. Not. Your. Fault. Humans have been evolving for millions of years - we are built for survival. Binge eating is a normal response by your body to say.... "Hey, i don't think we've been eating enough" Diet Land will make yo...u feel terrible about it, make you feel like it's your fault and that you have no motivation to stick to the diet. Bingeing is normal, if you have been restricting. (A diagnosis of Binge Eating Disorder can be more complex than this, and recovery is possible with support.) #nondiet #healthateverysize #HAES #dietitian #intuitiveeating #eatingdisorderrecovery #recoverywarriors #BED #bingeeating #binge #diet #restriction #intermittentfasting #IF #lowcarb #nutrition #evolution #willpower #motivation #shame #guilt #eatingdisorderrecovery #antidiet #healthnotweight #bodyimage #selfcare #nourish #intuitiveeatingofficial #bingeeatingrecovery #dietsdontwork #riotsnotdiets See more

08.01.2022 "Why can't I just stay on track?" "I know WHAT to eat!" We don't often think about our nutrition in other ways.... The WHY we eat is so interesting to explore. HOW we feel about HOW we eat is also important to talk about. So many people feel friggin terrible about what they eat, because it's not "right" or "clean" or "too much". These constant thoughts can make daily life really noisy. When we are able to look at our experience without our judgey judgey voice - it can open up quite a different experience with our food and eating.

02.01.2022 When dieting is all you know, it's not easy to 'NOT DIET'. It's like telling someone who speaks Japanese to "just speak Russian" Eating is a skill, a behaviour, a habit, a coping mechanism, a lot of different things to different people. ... To learn to do it another way takes time, effort and sometimes we need a guide.
