21.01.2022 EVENT UPDATE Over the past few months, it has felt a bit like we are running with no finish line in sight. The situation in Australia is now looking more and more positive each day however, so we wanted to update you on how we are progressing towards Carman’s Women’s Fun Run this year. With six months to go until the 35th annual Carman’s Women’s Fun Run, and no confirmed timeline of when the government restrictions on mass gatherings will be lifted, we understand you may ...feel a bit nervous about committing to an event right now. We want to reassure you that our team, with the support of our stakeholders, are fully focused on delivering the event on Sunday, 6 December 2020. Following guidance from government health agencies, our team is working hard on creating a set of best-practice operating guidelines to ensure your event experience is a safe and enjoyable one. More information will be shared over the coming months about what you can expect to see and experience at the event. In the meantime, to help give you some peace of mind, we wanted to answer your most common questions upfront: What if Carman’s Women’s Fun Run does not take place on Sunday, 6 December 2020, for reasons relating to the Covid-19 Pandemic? Where possible, the event will be rescheduled, and if this happens all registered participants will have their race registration automatically moved to the new date. We will provide as much notice as we can. What if I can’t make a rescheduled date, I am unable to get to either the original event or a rescheduled event due to border restrictions, or if the event does not happen at all? Participants will be offered an Event Credit to the value of your entry (including additional purchases). This Event Credit can be used on any of the IRONMAN Group’s portfolio of events in Australia. While we feel confident about still delivering the event this December, we hope by providing this information up front it will give you the confidence to enter when earlybird entries open on Friday, 19 June 2020. We hope to celebrate a return to running events with many new faces at the event and we hope you can join us! #CWFR

20.01.2022 *Event Update* Hi Everyone, This is the news we really didn’t want to have to share this year.... Over recent months our team has remained positive and worked towards being able to deliver Carman’s Women’s Fun Run as scheduled on 6 December 2020. We were optimistic the situation in Victoria would have improved enough in time for the event to take place, but the recent announcement by the Victorian Government of Melbourne’s roadmap to reopening provides no certainty as to when large gatherings will be possible again in Victoria. The roadmap only confirms that events such as ours will be not be allowed to take place any sooner than 23 November 2020, and so without a clear recommencement date for outdoor sporting events we are left unable to plan the event with any assurance that it can take place. For these reasons, but with great regret, we confirm that Carman’s Women’s Fun Run cannot take place as scheduled on 6 December 2020, or in the foreseeable future. All registered participants have been sent an email explaining their options. If you didn’t receive this, or have any questions, please contact us on [email protected]. Please know our team, along with our amazing partner Carman's Kitchen and our charity partner Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), share in this disappointment in this news. Last year, with your support, Carman’s Women’s Fun Run raised over $270,000 for the incredible work carried out by BCNA. So now, more than ever, BCNA need your support. If you would like to donate, you can do so at the link in the comments. While we need to press ‘pause’ on Carman’s Women’s Fun Run, we hope that this is not goodbye forever. This continues to be a very difficult time for everyone, so we thank you for your understanding.

07.01.2022 2020 has been a mighty challenge and the events industry has been heavily impacted, which means you, as the participants in our industry have missed out on many of your favourite events across Australia and around the world. We’ve joined forces with other events around Australia to create the Australian Mass Participation Sporting Events Alliance. We’re planning to work with governments and industry leaders, to be a voice for people who run, walk, ride, swim, paddle and more,... in 8,500 mass participation events across Australia. Our mission is to get back to staging events for you that are safe and enjoyable, as quickly as governments allow. Show your support by following AMPSEA on Facebook and keep up to date with all things events.
