25.01.2022 Year 12 External Assessment Update (Week 2) Year 12 students are progressing very well through the second week of external assessment. Students have completed external examinations for Biology, Legal Studies, Physical Education, and Chemistry. On Thursday and Friday there are also a number of upcoming examinations for students including Health, Economics, Accounting, Music, Modern History, and Geography. Our Year 12’s are to be commended on their organised, focused, and diligent approach when preparing for the examinations. Importantly, there are still opportunities for students to attend tutorials with their teachers in the library throughout the external assessment period please refer to the schedule sent out at the beginning of term.

15.01.2022 In light of the restricted drop off zones at the College during the construction work, a decision has been made to restrict the access of Learner Drivers on the school grounds (including the car parks). Please be aware that from tomorrow, Learner Drivers will not be permitted to drive on the campus grounds between 8am and 3:30pm. The reasoning is twofold; a) to alleviate the current issues with congestion as a result of the changeover required for Learner drivers and b) safety precautions we are concerned that the current congestion is not conducive to a safe Learner environment.

08.01.2022 This term we have started up Fashion Club where students can extend on their sewing abilities and create outside of class. At the end of Week 4 most students have finished sewing their first project - a fully lined bag. This introduced them to embroidery machines, using interfacing and sewing a zipper. We have varying degrees of ability and a range of students from all grades. Many students also started up their own individual projects today using patterns and fabric to create their own clothing. Mrs Louanne O'Connor - Academic Staff
07.01.2022 On 5 and 21 August, Year 11 Hospitality students along with Mrs Lax and Mrs OConnor, ran their very first functions. This year due to Covid safety requirements, we offered takeaway instead of sit down dining. Students used this function as a service period for their Certificate III in Hospitality. Over the two mornings, students had the opportunity to prepare breakfast items to order, espresso coffees and serve customers using an EFTPOS machine and cash register. Menu items offered were Eggs Benedict (including vegetarian option), Smashed Avocado and Fetta on sourdough, Bacon, eggs, muffins and hash browns, and Nutella and apricot danishes.

05.01.2022 In the last week of Term 2, students studying Japanese across Years 8, 9 and 10 were transported to Japan when they participated in a Kendo Demonstration led by Nishimoto Sensei. Kendo, is a Japanese word meaning "the way of the sword" and is the traditional martial art of Japanese fencing. Students gained an understanding of the ancient history of Kendo and the concept that the mind, body and spirit are deeply connected. Putting shoes neatly with toes facing towards the entrance is symbolic of Japanese culture and mindset. Thank you to Mr Mark Bartier who assisted Mr Toshio Nishimoto in the performance.
05.01.2022 In our current climate with restrictions placed on live activities within the College life, the community celebrated the 28th annual Foundation Day with a difference. Using both online, pre-recorded segments, along with live speeches students and staff engaged with reverence, in viewing the liturgy and arts co-curricular components. Father Ashley Warbrooke, who presided over the Liturgy of the Word, Mr. Adair, College Principal, Kate Swann and James Moran, College captain...s, all spoke of our important foundational basis, which continues to strengthen as we flourish in our identity, vision and mission today. These pre-recorded segments included the spiritually uplifting songs: Omnia Sol and Imagine, sung by the Carmel Chorum, and directed by Ms. Kate Joy Stuart, Let Your Light Shine by the liturgical choir; and three items by our Rock Band, led by Mr. Shayne Brown.
