25.01.2022 Sometimes life throws curveballs. Our best laid plans can fall apart. As business mentors, by elevating our #commercial acumen with a #nurturing #mindset, we can provide space for clients to rediscover their #resilience and #resourcefulness to navigate #complex paths.... #gratitudepost #feedback #testimonial #smallbusinessmentoring #mentoring #leadership #carmelrileyconsulting

24.01.2022 I had opportunity to meet Martin Moore during my #emba program at @QUT Business School and I really value his leadership perspectives (most critically because whilst they have made me uncomfortable at times, I know that my leadership strengths are harnessed through a deep respect for diversity of thought) During my recent talk with GROW Gippsland I shared my opinion with the group that #inclusiveleadership and #boardeffectiveness draw upon the same skill set around #harnessin...gdiversity. To hear this very concept, a foundational ethos of #carmelrilreyconsulting being discussed on the podcast was a great listen. I'm curious....take a listen and tell me: What resonates with you? 22.01.2022 We are officially certified as a social enterprise with Social Traders Australia What does that mean? We operate with a primary social, cultural or environmental purpose;... We derive a substantial portion of revenue from trade (our awesome suite of professional services to help mission-oriented business deliver viable solutions); and We reinvest profit towards our primary purpose of #inclusiveemployment and #strengtheningcommunity such that public benefit outweighs private benefit So what you ask? We truly believe in the power of microenterprise to shift the landscape of underemployment in Australia Let's take lots of small steps to create big change. 21.01.2022 Return to onsite learning across Victoria today! A significant day for many. Whether you are a #workingparent or not, the ripple effect of this week will be felt throughout #home #community and #business. It's completely possible that there will be a mixed bag of emotions as well the challenging state of feeling multiple emotions all at once. This is the nature of #change, amplified by #changefatigue and #uncertainty of what's next. Three questions to help everyone navigate ...this period: 1. How are you now? 2. How will you be if expectations aren't met? 3. How will you know? Some tips: - remember kids are navigating that same uncertainty and adjustment as the parents - the mood rarely relates to the moment it's experienced - the teachers have told us that the kids are all really hungry (or is that hangry?) as they adjust back to structured eating times! - most importantly "be gentle with you" #reflectiveleadership #emotionalintelligence #eq #selfawareness #careerlovingparent #wholeoflifeintegration #paradox #onsitelearningparadox #covid19 #carmelrileyconsulting

20.01.2022 Do life goals and business goals overlap? Would #lifecoaching and #business #mentoring objectives cross over for a client/mentee? Great question asked in a Facebook business community this week by Scott Humphrey ... My answer, based on my lived experience as #mentee and #mentor: "It depends" When I'm exploring #complex topics I like to visualise a quadrant with tensions. #facebook community - Which quadrant resonates with you? What would you amend in this visual? Comment below: for The Entrepreneur for The Integrator for The Lego Sorter for Ying & Yang #carmelrileyconsulting #wholeoflifeintegration #worklifeintegration

19.01.2022 Today was the first session of an exciting new #mentoring circle in #Gippsland, based upon the #carmelrileyconsulting group #leadership program. 15.01.2022 A stunning day in Gippsland for our community engagement team as we start off the new year with a program review at Central Gippsland Health Service. Pre-covid and now once again our team utilise a hybrid model (face-to-face and online) for qualitative interviews. We find this style of interviewing beneficial for a number of reasons - effectiveness, efficiency and a definite help during covid times.... There are challenges to navigate with hybrid engagement, however it's generally a great method! #carmelrileyconsulting #evaluation #gippsland

11.01.2022 Did you know kindness and gratitude is contagious? So many clients and friends have mentioned how much harder lockdown 2.0 has been - in level 4 and level 3 areas Turns out, one tiny action of kindness, connection or gratiude can turn around energy levels... We received a beautiful token of gratitude from an anonymous dog walker last week and it has brought renewed energy to our home What random act of kindness can you do? What gratitude can you find today? When your gratiude and kindness is externalised - not only can it brighten someone else's day - it will brighten yours too #kindnessmatters #kindnesspandemic #gratitude #connection #carmelrileyconsulting #gippsland #communityart #community #leadership #wholeoflifeintegration #worklifeintegration

07.01.2022 URGENT HELP REQUIRED FINANCIAL DONATIONS NEEDED PLEASE SHARE Tonight, I need you to read this post in full and help us. As we near Christmas, we urgently ne...ed your help. The last few months have been massive and challenging for us. We have been helping women and families who have been suffering so much loneliness and mental health impacts (54%) because of the pandemic and social restrictions. It has been so very hard to listen to the tears and the sadness and wish we could do so much more. Knowing we have been making a difference though has made it all worthwhile to be honest. It’s the reason Olivia's Place got started and the reason why all of our passionate team members work so hard to support Gippsland families; the families who need us. As you know, this year has meant charities like ours have not been able to hold our usual fundraising events and we have also received yet another 'unsuccessful grant application' notification this week. It's so heartbreaking to get those emails, but so many charities are in the same position and we are all applying to the same funders - they can only say yes to so many. Upsettingly, 21% of the families we help are affected by family violence. We know that financial strain plays a part in this risk and nearly 57% of our families have been affected by unemployment this year and over 77% affected by financial strain. When we get to meet the people we are helping, just like Milly and so many more, it helps us strive to help more babies and their families. Milly is nearly due to have her baby with proper medical care that is now fully paid for thanks to our village. We want to keep helping more babies and families like Milly's but we can’t do this alone. There are lots of other babies and their families doing it tough. All donations are being doubled by Metricon until the end of November, meaning when you donate $5 it turns into $10, $20 turns into $40. We need to raise $15,000 by November 30 to guarantee that we have the funds to help more of the Gippsland families that need our help. $25 provides one family with support for a week, or a packet of nappies for a newborn. Just $5 from each and every one of you would help us get over the line. It’s just the cost of your coffee in the morning but it will be the best money you have spent this week. Can you answer our call? Can you answer the call of families like Milly in need of extra help when welcoming a new baby? We are crossing everything that when we get to the end of this month we have reached our goal. Remember, every dollar you donate will be matched! Please donate now: https://matchedgivingmonth.raisely.com

06.01.2022 What has #covid taught us about the interface of #retail, #customerservice and #technology? Why are #emotionalintelligence, #empathy and #connection core elements of the retail course we have been delivering with #warragulcommunityhouse #learnlocal #gippsland To be relevant and applicable for the changing face, technology enabled, customer experience of retail.... Thank you QUT (Queensland University of Technology) "But what happens when you take away the opportunity to interact with a human? You impact the customer’s emotional journey. It turns out, when you take away the opportunity for even subtle human connection in a customer experience, a smile, just the acknowledgement of a customer’s presence, you negatively impact the customer’s emotional journey. As it turns out, you can never truly replace the human after all." https://www.qut.edu.au/busin/insights/what-about-the-humans #carmelrileyconsulting
