25.01.2022 A lovely surprise for a Friday. Thankyou @naturalwellnessaustralia Nate is most excited with the pine cone ... Merry Christmas to you both, Adheesh and Santoshi

25.01.2022 http://A-Z Series Balance Or more commonly known as the frazzled AF blend.... One of the first oils I used on my baby as recommended by the Essential Midwife to ground once earthside and continued to use myself on a daily basis when I felt overwhelmed. Personally I like it applied to the wrists as it already has fractionated coconut oil, but diffusing is quite popular. Adding a roller top to the bottle is a great idea as it’s much easier to roll on the soles of the feet when you have little ones to chase around! Balance is a gorgeous blend of Canadian Spruce Leaf, Ho Wood, Frankincense, Chamomile and Fractionated Coconut Oil. This can be purchased alone, in the mood management kit or with the new starter pack that includes 4 other oils and a diffuser. How are you using Balance? See more

25.01.2022 We’ve all heard about folate, well - usually the ladies. (Particularly if you’re trying to conceive or have been pregnant). Folate is needed to reduce the risk of neural tube defects (spina bifida), midline defects, cleft palate, cleft lip, tongue tie, lip tie, pre-eclampsia and placental abruption.... Whilst serious conditions such as spina bifida are rare, tongue and lip ties are becoming much more common. B9 or folate is the natural form found in foods whereas folic acid is the synthetic form which is found in most supplements or fortified foods. (When you see a products with added vitamins and minerals). Folic acid doesn’t cross the placenta the way folate does. It should be avoided particularly with many people not knowing if they have the MTHFR gene. The MTHFR gene can be passed down from one parent or both, and there are two different types. Those with MTHFR have very poor conversion of folic acid to folate. More on MTHFR another day. It’s recommended to take folate when trying to conceive, whilst pregnant and breastfeeding regardless of what your every day diet looks like. At the end of the day, avoid prenatal supplements with folic acid and supplement with folate (B9) as well as including foods in your diet that are naturally occurring - things like liver, turkey, chicken, beans, lentils, chickpeas, asparagus, strawberries, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, artichokes, beetroot and turnips. Even lettuce, spinach, avocado, orange, potato, sunflower seeds, walnuts, papaya, peanuts and banana contain folate.

23.01.2022 Don’t forget it

23.01.2022 I have been in business for 14 years. My business has evolved and changed over that time, but since day dot, I have worked really hard for what I have. There are some people who will never know the risks, the uncertainty, the stress and the joy that comes from being your own boss.... The outlay of many, many physical hours to the financial investments that you’ll never get back. If you know, you know Small businesses have been tested more than ever this year - particularly in my area with bushfires before we even hit the c*^ID stuff. Now flooding and hail storms have crushed some more dreams over the past week. Here’s the thing, we are in this for the long haul, it’s never been about making a quick buck because we have a deep passion for why we do what we do. It is most definitely our livelihood. Day in, day out. Shout out to all my fellow small business owners, boss mums and anyone else putting themselves out there to make dreams come true. See more

23.01.2022 The environmental protection agency just released a report stating that glyphosate is likely to injure or kill up to 93% of endangered species. As shocking as ...this, it isn’t that surprising. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup is incredibly damaging to every living thing on earth from the bacteria that live in the soil to animals, fish, birds and of course humans - and every year hundreds of millions of kgs of this poison are poured into the environment. It’s in our food, it’s in the soil, it’s in the water and in some places it’s even found in air samples! It’s never been more important to do everything you can avoid glyphosate & we know that the main we are exposed to it is through our food so our hands down favourite way to do this is by growing your own food! When you do this you avoid the glyphosate & GMOs + you’re eating food right after harvesting when it’s at its’ most nutritious! We go deeper into this topic in our brand new free Grow Eat Thrive training series and part 1 dropped today! It’s only available for a limited time, so hit the link the link below to sign up and start watching part 1 right now! A&C xo https://thehealthypatch.com.au/grow-eat-thrive-video-series

23.01.2022 Be kind to me this Christmas... from a little person's point of view: - You've probably let me eat more sugar than usual - I'm bound to have higher highs and l...ower lows. - In the holidays I'm out of routine - I can cope better with transitions when I know exactly what's coming next so please explain our plans for the day clearly to me. - The anticipation of Christmas can be pretty overwhelming and exhausting. Help me to rest by keeping to my normal bedtimes. - Travelling at Christmas is stressful for all of us. When possible, be flexible about when we travel and check the traffic before we leave. - I have no idea about the value of money - if there's no way I can have that giant lego set for Christmas, then please tell me well before Christmas morning. I'll have time to get over my disappointment and I'll learn to trust your honesty. - Grown-ups find preparing for Christmas stressful. I know you want it to be perfect for me so I'll have memories I can cherish forever. But I see you getting stressed, sometimes even before you do. I pick up on it and reflect it like a mirror. Please slow down, notice me, talk to me, play with me. That's what I'll remember. - When I lose it, and I probably will at some point, please don't make me ashamed of my feelings by shouting at me. I never set out to deliberately disappoint you and I didn't try to ruin your Christmas. I'm really not that calculated. I'm just a little person whose brain deals with stress in different ways to yours. Please try to understand me, from my point of view. And when all else fails, wrap your arms around me and hold me so I feel the strength of your love. Credit ~ Esther Esther's Childminding

23.01.2022 There is growing awareness that 'challenging behaviour' in children and young people can be a sign of anxiety but what about kids on the other side of the scale... who are 'model students' - never get in trouble, always work hard, set high standards for themselves? Or maybe this resonates with you personally? High-functioning anxiety can be really difficult to wrap your head around - isn't anxiety supposed to prevent you from doing things?! How can an over-achiever have anxiety? I love this visual and accompanying blog post from Dominee at BlessingManifesting which speaks about what it is like to live with high-functioning anxiety. Read more (and check out her amazing work) at: https://www.blessingmanifesting.com/what-high-functioning-/

22.01.2022 I've been rocking and cuddling my baby to sleep since that day he was born. I mentioned this to a nurse at my clinic recently. She said that she did the same th...ing with her son, and everyone warned her that she would still have a teenager sleeping in her bed. And then she told me that, a few weeks ago, her teenage son came home from school very upset. He didn't want to talk, and just went to his room and listened to his music, typed on his phone and cried. The mother gave her son space, and night time came and she went to bed. Just as she was about to turn off her side light, the door opened, and her 15 year old padded into the room. He climbed into the bed with her, laid his head on her shoulder and cried. He told her all about the girl that broke his heart, all about the friends who laughed, all about the stresses of being him. She told him about her first broken heart, about friends who'd been cruel, and told him she understands. They talked in the dark for hours, until he feel asleep in her bed. Still sad but relieved after their talk. 'So you see' she said to me, when she finished the story. 'I was so scared that I wound wind up with a teenager who would 'need me' at night, that I never stopped to consider how beautiful that would really be.' 21.01.2022 Feeling a mixture of sad and frustrated. It's an all too common story - people going into hospital for an induction (for whatever reason) and actually, they don...'t even know what an induction involves. Sometimes, your baby may be better out than in and that is when an induction is justified, after weighing up the pros and cons. However, as many as 1 in 3 birthing people have an induction and that is absolutely horrific! Are we saying that our bodies actually can't go into labour when they are ready? The worst part is that it is very rare the process of an induction has been discussed, the research shared and the pros and cons given. People don't realise it could take 4 days. They don't realise it increases the chance of caesarean, epidurals and assisted birth. People don't realise they may be waiting around because the labour ward is too busy. It is very rarely a case of going in and 3 hours later your baby is born. It just doesn't work that way. Sometimes, it doesn't work at all. It really worries me that this information isn't always being shared with people, because how have you made an informed decision to be induced if you don't know the pros and cons? By no means am I saying don't have an induction, because if it is medically the best option then it is wonderful that we have these interventions. However, it is not a decision to be made lightly. It isn't JUST an induction. It is potentially a whole new pathway of intervention that you may never have had if you had gone into labour on your own. This is why I spend a lengthy amount of time in all my classes, talking you through the rational, the process, the research and the practicalities of an induction incase it is something that meets your path, so you can make a truly informed decision if the time comes. . : Fødselsfotografen - Reposted from @reframingbirth on IG . . . #thelittlebirthcompanyfamily #womensupportingwomen #hypnobirthinginstructor #thelbc #hypnobirthing #babyonboard #mumtobe2020 #20weekspregnant #midwifery #thelittlebirthcompany

21.01.2022 I’m very excited that I’m about to stock rose quartz yoni eggs at my physio practice! I feel extremely passionate about women’s health and these eggs are a fant...astic way to strengthen your pelvic floor, decrease stored pelvic tension, improve sensation, pleasure and lubrication. I’m also about to start some post graduate women’s health training so that I can offer much more in depth assessment and treatment for the physical issues related to women’s health. I feel extremely passionate about this topic, and I really want to bring this conversation out into the light. It’s been hidden away way too long, with people feeling shame or stigma talking about vaginas, vulvas, incontinence and orgasm. It is an extremely personal and difficult issue for so many, and I know I have a big role to play in helping people find solutions. If you’re not local and you’re keen on getting yourself a yoni egg (or any of the other amazing products on offer) I also have an affiliate link, so you can click on this and order, and feel free to ask for my advice or help. 21.01.2022 http://A-Z Series Adaptiv This new kid on the block ticks so many boxes. From next month this one is even part of a new emotional kit with a diffuser. So good!... Adaptiv is a blend of gorgeous florals - Lavender, Magnolia, Neroli plus Sweetgum as well as uplifting oils Wild Orange and Spearmint. Copaiba is also in the mix which means not only can you diffuse this blend but you can apply it topically. I’ve found a love of diffusing Adaptiv and Wild Orange or Citrus Bliss together and I regularly apply adaptiv touch to the wrists (if you don’t have the touch roller just add some FCO to yours). It is calming, relaxing and soothing and helps me start my day with ease. I also apply this when feeling overwhelmed or when I need to focus on something. You could add to the bath with Epsom salts, dilute for massage or just sniff from the bottle when you need to calm the farm. Have you tried it yet!? See more

20.01.2022 You're going to come in contact with an awful lot of people who are at their absolute breaking point this month. Friends, family, neighbours, co-workers, teache...rs, strangers in the grocery store, retail workers. While it maybe the merriest time of year for some, it maybe the saddest, most stressful, loneliest, most heartbreaking for other's. We're all busy. But we're not too busy to be kind, caring and patient. Remember the best thing you can give someone this season is your love and kindness. - Amy Weatherly Season of love and kindness...Be kind

20.01.2022 Just picked some citrus oils to blast through the house. I always go to citrus when I’m feeling down or flat. They smell so vibrant and fresh! Afterwards I checked the emotional meanings so I thought I would share them here;... Litsea - Manifestation When feelings of rejection, distraction, self doubt and criticism pop up it reminds individuals to take a leap of faith into the unknown. To trust the inner voice and rise above fear and the negative emotions. Lime - Zest for Life Helpful when you’re feeling resigned, discouraged or grieving. Lime cleanses the heart when there has been an accumulation of toxins due to avoidance or repression. Instills hope, joy, courage and determination to face life’s challenges. Wild Orange - Abundance Inspires abundance, creativity, supports a positive mood and brings spontaneity and playfulness back into ones life. Lack of energy, workaholic, overly serious, envious, nervousness and discouraged are negative emotions that can be worked through with this oil.

19.01.2022 Feeling unsupported especially as a mother can show up physically in your body. It’s not all just about anxiety and stress, sometimes these things actually mani...fest in physical ways. One of those ways is weakness in the pelvic floor and perhaps even prolapse. Our pelvic floor is the support system for our entire abdominal contents, not just for our bladder. So when emotionally or spiritually we feel unsupported, it’s no surprise we can see it show up in our pelvic floor too. And prolapse happens when that support system fails. When it can’t hold up any longer. Of course there are physical reasons this can happen, but the emotional and spiritual reasons are just as important, and addressing them, not just the physical, can help with much more holistic healing. Feeling unsupported could be coming from anywhere, from your partner, your family, your workplace, your friends, your school community and peers or even from life itself. If prolapse or pelvic floor issues are present in your body, ask yourself how truly supported do you feel?

19.01.2022 This is not going to be a popular post. Probably why I’ve waited till later at night to post it! Coffee There’s an emoji for it, it’s considered an art by so...me. A way we socially connect and the energy boost that kick starts our day/afternoon etc. It’s a social and cultural thing to grab a coffee or catch up for a coffee. It’s a thing that brings us together. It’s been claimed coffee is amazing for our health. What they don’t tell you is that those studies (spoiler alert, this is the case with most studies) have been done on men, and don’t account for the reality of a woman’s hormonal cycle. Here’s a few things that are specific to a woman when it comes to caffeine: Caffeine may lead to the development of breast and ovarian cysts. If you or someone you know suffers from PCOS, endometriosis, fibrocystic breasts or fibroids, caffeine is a great way to develop benign cysts. It can also disrupt a woman’s monthly cycle. Depending on your genes, you may not be able to metabolise caffeine safely. A gene called CYP1A2 controls the enzyme that breaks down caffeine in your liver. You’ll either produce a lot of this gene, which gives you a green light for caffeine or, you’ll be a slow metaboliser. The CYP1A2 gene also plays a part in metabolising estrogen. When you drink coffee or energy drinks, your liver works super hard to eliminate the caffeine and may not have resources left over to flush out excess estrogen. Excess estrogen increases your chance of a non fatal heart attack. Caffeine decreases fertility rates. Latest research linking caffeine to infertility & miscarriage: - it increases cortisol, stressing the adrenals, interfering with ovulation. - depletes vital vitamins and minerals (folate & B vitamins) needed for ovulation and healthy fertility. - drinking 3 or more caffeinated drinks per day increases risk of miscarriage by 74% according to 2016 research in Fertility & Sterility. Caffine depletes micronutrients essential for hormone balance. The acidity in coffee can alter the microbiome. To read up more on this and access the research it’s based on, grab a copy of In The Flo by Alissa Vitti. This is where this info is from. I know if coffee is your thing, that this is like a kick in the guts! What I felt was a kick in the guts was that the studies are being done, but they’re deliberately not doing them on women with a hormonal cycle because it’s too hard to get stable results because our hormones change so much during our cycle. This is why most studies are done on men, or, women who are post menopause! Our cycle doesn’t work for these big companies agendas, so they don’t do it! And ladies, that is NOT ok! In the last 10yrs wellness programs have exploded, with the majority consumer being women. Auto immune diseases in women have also risen in this time by 50%! If we keep ignoring our cycle, and treating our biology like that of a man, who has one 24hr clock, we will continue to suffer. I share this not to upset, to educate. Because when you know better you do better. And if I was trying to have a baby, I’d want to know that the fancy cups of coffee are working against me! This info will only be spread by women sharing it and empowering each other. Even if it makes you feel uncomfortable, stay open to it. You just never know when you might need it If you know someone who needs to read this, tag them below

19.01.2022 So cute!! I can’t wait for the rest of the Xmas catalogue to be released. 19.01.2022 http://A-Z Series Cardamom I love that this one has popped up so close to Christmas.... It is certainly magical if you’re making raw chocolate and need some flavours to add but it is also really supportive on the digestive system - one of the more traditional uses. Spicy, fruity, warm and balsamic are some of the ways to describe this oil which is native to Southeast Asia. The oil is extracted from the seeds and diffused for its warming and comforting aroma. Emotionally, this oil helps to digest intense emotions. Objectivity, self control and patience. It is also linked in with anger and demands individuals stop blaming others. To take control and ownership of their actions and feelings. It helps to release frustration. //Spiced Chai Diffuser Blend 3 drops Cardamom 2 drops Ginger 1 drop Clove //Open Breathing Roller 5 drops Cardamom 10 drops Eucalyptus Top 10ml roller with Fractionated Coconut Oil Are you a fan of Cardamom? #essentialoils #plantgoodness #naturalfamilies #healthyhomes #lowtoxliving #emotionalsupport #happytummies #rawchocolate #lovehealthhappiness

18.01.2022 After the disappointing news that we will not be able to reopen until October 26 we have decided it’s time to break our silence. We do not support it. We are ab...solutely furious that in a time of crisis, where so many are struggling, Victorians will be robbed of healthcare for another 7 weeks. The implications of this will far exceed any damage done by the virus itself. The lack of preventative screenings, the lack of preventative surgeries, the lack of preventative mental health support. Not to mention the complete absence of health education. Where are the ads about how to boost our immune system? Where are the ads about nutrition, diet and exercise? Where are the ads about the scientifically proven benefits of vitamin d? Complementary medicine is needed right now. More than ever. And to find out that it will not be prioritized in a time where preventative healthcare could not be more important is nothing short of appalling. Complementary medicine keeps people out of our incredibly taxed medical system. The promise that things will return to normal once we reach below 5 new cases a day does not make sense. We were meant to flatten the curve, knowing that this virus was here to stay. Less than 5 cases a day is not a roadmap out of here. And we’d struggle to find a health professional that would disagree. The problem here is that health professionals are not the ones making the big decisions... they are not even being consulted. So at this point we can not get behind these new restrictions. We’ve played by the rules for 7 months now. We took no risks. We trusted that this was going to be the best way forward. But unfortunately, we can no longer trust that these decisions have our states best interests at heart. We want to let you know that we are doing everything we can to have these healthcare restrictions over turned so that we can reopen for you and your families. And we are so sorry that this is happening. We stand with all the health professionals whose voices are not being heard right now. And we stand with you, Victoria. This is no longer about our health.

18.01.2022 Happy Sunday Don’t forget to fill your cup so you can take on the week ahead with ease.

18.01.2022 A bit of fun for your Thursday!

17.01.2022 http://Bathroom Our skin care products are so personalised and generally there isn’t a one size fits all. I guess the first step is finding something that you’re happy with. ... I’ve been using the Verage skin care range as my first choice for a number of years. I really love how natural they are and they don’t irritate my sensitive skin. I often add the anti ageing products here and there as I feel I need them (or when I have the time!). Have you tried any of the doTERRA skin care ranges? There are quite a few options now and I find many of our community love the mix and match ideas, too. My ultimate routine includes aromatic dressing, honestly though it’s not a day-to-day thing (something I’m working on). Many women and men go about their day applying chemicals (possibly unknown) to their skin - our largest organ. To help reduce inflammation in the body (which show up in various ways like headaches, dry skin, hormone problems, irritability and so much more) we need to make conscious choices about what we put on our body. If you can start with your skin care range, your perfumes and deodorants you are well on the way. Let me know if you’d like some tips to get started

17.01.2022 Sometimes you just need a video of Pandas sliding down a slide.

16.01.2022 The first book to completely change my life, like total lifestyle everything change was Louise Hays You Can Heal Your Life. I’ve read countless books since th...en, while some have left big ago-ha moments and helped steer my ship on course, I was yet to read another book that would trigger a completely new transformation in my life. And then, through pure luck while searching hashtags on Instagram, I came across this book, by @alisa.vitti. I’m just about to finish the last chapter, and Alisa says that it’s quite normal for women to get emotional after reading it. I was so relieved to read that other readers had felt angry that they didn’t know, sad because they had missed out and also relieved that finally someone has spoken to the part of them that the male dominated world tells women is wrong with them. We are not hormonal, we have the most amazing biology EVER! We don’t know about it, understand it, or know how to use it to our advantage. It’s not taught. And it’s not good enough. This book is changing everything for me. My work is about to shift (expect a whole lot more monthly cycle/period talk). It’s bought me back home to my health coaching training, it’s been the missing piece of the puzzle in so many areas of my life in so many ways. If you have a daughter, I would say this is possibly the most important book you could ever read. If you are a woman with a monthly cycle and want to learn how it is actually our super power, this book is for you. If you’re on the pill PLEASE for the love of god READ THIS BOOK. I’m so grateful to have found it, for all it’s given me and for what it has and will continue to change in me as a woman, mother, and business woman. In my opinion, any fitness, eating, diet, coaching, training, business training etc program for women that does not include female cycle specific information is a waste of time and will cause you more damage than good! Yep, this book is that impactful! Women and young teenage girls need this information. It’s so important. Looking forward to bringing you more on this topic very very soon Alisa, if you happen to read this, so so so grateful to you and your commitment to this work

16.01.2022 http://Screening for Gestational Diabetes The test has a high risk of producing false negative and false positive results. Women who eat a low glycemic (low GI) or low carbohydrate diet are most at risk for a false positive result.... This is because their pancreas hasn’t adapted to releasing high amounts of insulin to clear an influx of glucose from the bloodstream quickly. (Pubmed study) The glucola drink tastes disgusting and has unpleasant side effects. The ingredients are full of preservatives, artificial flavours, artificial colours, genetically modified ingredients and BVO which is banned in Europe and Japan. No wonder you feel like absolute crap afterwards. (Water, dextrose (d-glucose; corn), citric acid, natural and artificial flavours, food starch modified, glycerol ester of wood resin, Brominated soybean oil (BMO), FD&C Yellow #6, sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium benzoate). There is a Simply Pure flavour which only has Dextrose from corn, Potassium Sorbate and purified water. This may be your best bet if you are unable to have your doctor agree to an alternative option such as home testing. How did you go with the glucose test!?

16.01.2022 It must go beyond #plasticfreejuly and I feel like it’s a really good time to revisit when we are coming up with Christmas present ideas. Firstly, I love the idea of supporting local businesses or people that you know. If you get started now (I know some of you have already finished most of your shopping) it should be easier to manage and give you time up your sleeve to think outside of the box.... My 5 tips to #reducewaste 1. Swap your plastic toothbrush for a bamboo one. Give it a whirl. You should be going through around 6 toothbrushes per year so this can make a big difference. I always add a new toothbrush to the Xmas stocking 2. Invest in a glass water bottle instead of a plastic one. Gosh there are some beautifully designed bottles out there. It’s pretty easy to find a glass one these days. 3. Skip takeaway coffee cups and bring your own reusable - now this one may not be possible depending on where in the world you are right now. If you still have to get the takeaway cup, try leaving the lid behind at the very least. 4. Shop in bulk and bring your own containers. At bulk food stores you may currently need assistance if bringing your own containers but there is seriously a lot of waste in a woolies home delivery compared to doing it yourself. Shop smart & do your best. Conscious shopping is important and very convenient 5. When buying toys for children, look for well crafted or wooden toys. Did you know every plastic toy EVER made, still exists. For brand recommendations on any of the above products don’t hesitate to ask. #consciousliving #recycle #reuse #repurpose #reduce #reducereuserecycle #plasticfree #lovehealthhappiness #christmasshopping #shoplocal

16.01.2022 Ooh. I just opened the Citrus Bloom foaming handwash from the gift giving guide I’m actually surprised it’s still available! I’ve always loved the On Guard option - it’s at every sink in our house and workplace. The Holiday Peace is also really nice and fresh.... Have you tried the Citrus Bloom!?

15.01.2022 http://Food & Mood So you’ve kept a food diary before - maybe for a health coach, naturopath, nutritionist, dietician or another wellness professional. Did you ever keep track of your mood as well?... Tracking how you feel is just as important as tracking what you eat. When we feel stressed, we are usually drawn to poor choices in food for a quick fix, a sugar hit or indulgence of some kind to fill a void. If we’re eating this because of a stress in our lives, we are not allowing that stress to go away, and in most cases we then reflect upon what we’ve just eaten and then feel guilty. You’ve probably felt upset about numbers on the scale and how your clothes fit or more frequently; -why do I have a headache? -why did I wake up at 2am? -why am I so bloated? -why do I feel so tired? Keeping a mood diary will help you work through the relationship with food and how it actually makes you feel. If you don’t have these type of foods in the house it also means you can’t have them. Of course it’s okay to have the odd treat but when it turns into a daily occurrence, it is really unhealthy for the body and the mind. Have you ever thought of things that make you feel good that aren’t food related? -booking a facial -reading a book -a massage -bubble bath -meditation -gardening -exercise outside Do you have a food and mood diary? #healthiswealth #bodyandmind #fooddiary #feelgood #emotionalsupport #essentialoils #consciouseating #foodrelationship #meditation #thinkpositive #springvibes #lovehealthhappiness

15.01.2022 http://Accountability A friend recently posted about the fact that if you aren’t using your oils and supplements you really have no grounds to say they don’t work. She spoke about getting that bang for your buck, get your oils out on display and *drumroll* just use the damn things haha.... I will openly admit I am sporadic with my lifelong vitality supplements but know they are they absolute best base for physical, mental and emotional health so I need to get back to the consistency which is the part that makes the biggest difference. I opened this up to my oily community and we now have a chat group happening so everyone is there to stay accountable to take those LLV Supps each day AND get enough water. If you’re part of my crew (or wish to be) and want a little bit of a push to stay on track, let me know. How much water have you had today!?

13.01.2022 Three forms of glutamates (including pure MSG) just in this one packet of Twisties. What's MSG linked to? Headaches... Restlessness Chest pain Rapid, fluttering heartbeats Digestive issues Obesity Behavioural issues in children Asthmatics should avoid It also changes our brain receptors so that we struggle to recognise when we're full, hence why it's easy to overeat foods that contain MSG or glutamates. We've all been there, we've opened a bag of chips, said to ourselves we'll only have a few and before we know it, we've gobbled up the whole pack... thanks, MSG! Here's a simple swap you can make that eliminates this altogether. Yep, we get it, it's not like it's a healthy food swap, but it's a better option. All this stuff is easy to avoid if you know what you're looking out for and know how to read ingredient labels. This is what we teach you in our signature e-course, Additive-Free Made Easy. 13.01.2022 BABY ONLY WANTS TO SLEEP ON YOU, BE HELD BY YOU, OR JUST HAVE CUDDLES ALL DAY LONG? THEY’RE NOT BROKEN, IT’S NORMAL! Four years ago I thought my daughter had ...a sleep problem. I could not understand why she wanted to sleep soundly on me for two hours but only sleep 20 minutes alone in a cot This explanation of the fourth trimester and creating a womb-like environment really helped me to understand, surrender, and embrace those sleepy wrap cuddles. Read full article here https://bit.ly/2vDSJzs . . WHY LISTENING TO OTHER PARENTS ON YOUR CHILD’S SLEEP IS OFTEN A COMPLETE WASTE OF YOUR TIME Parents today have often been bombarded by other parents telling them the things they need to do to improve their child’s sleep. Often these things are based on cultural norms which inform on things like sleeping location, sleep training, feeding surrounding sleep, and so on. Many families end up worried they are doing something wrong because so many others tell them they are. They hear families telling them how happy they are and how much sleep they are getting and all these behaviours that felt so normal, so instinctive, and so right suddenly seem questionable. The problem is that there are many scientifically-backed reasons to just flat-out ignore these families. So before you let one more person worry you, let’s look at why these people’s statements mean absolutely nothing. Keep reading here https://bit.ly/2CvejJT My Connected Motherhood . . 12.01.2022 I see you, on the edge of breaking point & just merely surviving each day, all with a brave face for the world to see. As a woman living in this modern world I...’m telling you there is a way to live your life that is going to support your health. At the moment we have an epidemic of women who are falling apart & it is beyond time for us to prioritise our health. I’m noticing a trend, not just in my clients but also in all the women in my life. They all sacrifice their own health for the needs of someone else. I get it, we are born to nurture, and it is a natural instinct for us to protect and care for our people, but we are also nurturing our careers, homes, family, friends & strangers. For the first time in history women’s health conditions are at an all time high. Anxiety Infertility Hormonal imbalance Adrenal fatigue (HPA axis dysfunction) Life is not going to slow down around us; we just need to find a better way to thrive in this modern world because currently it is not working for us. I believe we have an ingrained desire to please and helping others makes us feel good, but giving our precious energy at a time when we are all ready depleted is not ok. Give your self-permission to receive the same love you so willingly give others. I also hear people saying how busy they are, we all hold the power to change the situation. Our biology is not designed to be in a constant state of rushing, it effects our hormones, adrenal function, sleep & overall health. If you can do one thing that will have a profound impact on your health, it would be to value yourself enough to create space in your life for your very OWN needs. 10.01.2022 http://Essential Oils Each week I am asked by gorgeous women, who are either planning pregnancy or have just found out they are pregnant - which essential oils can I use? It’s quite common to avoid essential oils until the second trimester, remember this also includes things such as your regular body products.... (Part three will list the oils and herbs to avoid). There are some great results from women suffering nausea and finding relief through citrus oils which have a high safety profile. Citrus oils are energising and uplifting and one of my absolute favourites to diffuse in the home, I was particularly drawn to citrus during my own postpartum period. Lemon in particular has been found effective in reducing nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. I love @the_essential_midwife book and feel it is a must have for anyone wanting the best information surrounding safety of essential oils during pregnancy. Did you use essential oils through your journey?

09.01.2022 That morning choice that sets you up for the whole day. You know eggs are best but what if you’re just not feeling it!? (That thing about avoiding eggs because of cholesterol, yeah, that was a lie. It’s really important to eat the yolk as well as that’s where all the nutrition is, particularly if you’re pregnant, trying to conceive or breast feeding)... Anyway, you’re after alternatives. What about coconut or grass fed yoghurt with nuts, seeds and berries? Smoothies can be convenient and fill you up when you choose some good fats and protein to add in like nut butter, avocado, collagen powder, coconut cream, hemp seeds, flaxseed etc. Vegetables are a great go to, or things like breakfast sausages, home made beans or sardines. These are perfect options for little ones too. Have you ever made a chia pudding? These are a good option when you’re short on time as you can prepare a day or more in advance and can be eaten one handed. I would suggest an almond or coconut milk and make them at least the night before. 07.01.2022 http://A-Z Series Basil He’s so underrated, but I’m seeing him pop up everywhere lately. ... I learnt about Basil’s true value many years ago when I had my first Zyto scan. (I now use a handheld iTovi scanner when I’m looking for extra guidance). I found out he was perfect for me at the time as I was feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, drained and anxious. Basil applied topically (diluted) to the soles of the feet morning and night or on the lower back (over the adrenal glands) is the perfect spot to help feel more energised, strengthened, rested and renewed. If you’re a new mum, a high achieving business person, someone who finds it hard to wind down to go to sleep - or wakes during the night, the always tired or you’ve just been burning the candle at both ends I would highly recommend some basil. To make a nice roller blend to support you, why not add rosemary, frankincense, lemon and fractionated coconut oil. Basil is able to be used for food flavouring and makes a nice addition to the kitchen for various Italian or other dishes. Basil can also be diffused while you’re studying or reading, it pairs nicely with Wild Orange, Geranium, Grapefruit or Red Mandarin. It is certainly warm, spicy and herbal so take care when applying it to the body. 06.01.2022 I hate you mum screams my 5 year old, fists clenched and wide eyed, while I try to give him some time and try my best to gently explain why we’re not going to... have red lolly frogs at 8:45 at night after brushing our teeth. The pang of those words dulling slightly each time they’re screamed at me. He walks off to calm down with lego for 10 minutes then comes back, jumps in bed to snuggle in and say sorry, I’m just so angry so we talk about how well he did calming himself with an activity. We read a book with his head on my arm, that I notice is getting so heavy these days that my forearm and fingers get a numb tingling. The mark his ear leaves behind on my upper arm is a little bigger than last time I really looked at it, but still in the same spot as it was the years he’d lay like this and feed to sleep. I become aware of that very slight increase in his temperature and the perspiration along his hairline while I brush my fingers through his hair as he surrenders to sleep in my arms. It wasn’t that long ago when feeding took up the same time as a full-time job, long contact naps were part of our daily rhythm and it seemed we were attached with velcro in the carrier or on my hip for the hours beyond that. All that time has slowly whittled down to these short moments that somehow never feel like enough. A feeling nap trapped me of not long ago would never had imagined possible, when I was touched out and desperate for just 30 seconds to myself or a shower long enough to wash my mum bun hair. Cuddling your kids to sleep is like the opposite of new love, where you’re wondering if it will work out and whether you’ll get to stay this close and connected forever. With our children we know over time you will move further and further apart in ebs and flows, while your love grows stronger and your heart expands more than you ever thought possible. Breathe in these moments and linger over the small details to imprint them to memory when you have the capacity to do so. These short seconds help wash away the mistakes & the tough moments during the day. While it feels like an eternity in the thick of it, it’s the shortest season of both our lives. Casey - Admin Team.

05.01.2022 You can get hung up on cutting out certain foods, trying the latest diet trend and overall making poor choices for your body. What about a positive focus of what can I do more of instead of beating yourself up. Maybe it’s working on an extra two glasses of water per day or making sure you are eating vegetables at your mid day meal.... What about fermented foods? This is one of the things I have been more conscious about over the past few months. Do you know what fermented foods are? Why do we need them? Common types of fermented foods or drinks are; kimchi sauerkraut tempeh miso kombucha kefir Eating these foods should be the priority over taking a probiotic from a jar, however if that’s not available to you a probiotic capsule is still a good idea. Basically they are all good for your gut health. Our gut really is our second brain. Fermented foods enhance the good bacteria and support digestion, immunity and in some cases weight loss. There are so many more benefits and many studies linked with good bacteria supporting sufferers of eczema, allergies, IBS, depression, diabetes etc. My favourite to eat would be coconut yoghurt. Have you eaten any fermented foods today? #lovehealthhappiness #fermentedfoods #guthealth #probiotics #nutrition

05.01.2022 Money. How would having more money change your life? Please, if you notice any objections, agitation, and tension rising, pause and stretch through that (becau...se important discoveries happen on the other side of resistance). Money can initiate some interesting feelings in all of us. It has a whole spectrum of them. But imagine you have more money... Truthfully, how would that change your experience, enjoyment and ease within your life? How would your life be if you didn’t have to stress (or even think about) expenses? If you could cover a mortgage easefully? Or if you could live in a location that fits your heart and soul beautifully? If you could claim the best education for yourself or your loved ones? If you could develop that business idea or dream that has been pulling at your heart for years or even decades? If you could provide for dozens, or even thousands of people in need? What would you do, be, create and receive if you were fully provisioned to fulfil your needs, desires, dreams and destiny? I've been reflecting a whole lot about the meaning of this word, and the physical experience of it since I discovered what I did 2 weeks ago (see my post about this from the 2nd). I knew from a very young age that money was necessary for my freedom. For the ability to create what I wanted, do what I needed and go where I yearned to be. I confidently told people that I would be a millionaire and that I was going to have a job that suited my dreams (which isn’t incredibly well received in a world where one is expected to settle for what one is dealt in life). I know what it’s like to be without money, and I know what it’s like to be abundantly wealthy. I know what it’s like to be able to create my own flow of wealth and I can say with certainty I know in which experience I felt the most stable, powerful, in command and free. What if we evolved into a place where money was a catalyst for transformation and liberation? Because it is. For ourselves and the world around us. When good people create infinite wealth leaders will rise, temples will be erected, women and children will be freed from slavery, humans will be freed from suffering, the earth will be nourished and harmony will be restored. Money is power, and not exclusively in the way we’ve been taught to think about it. M x

04.01.2022 http://Herbs & Supplements Many supplements have a disclaimer on the label not to be used during pregnancy. Sometimes this means the herbs are strongly contraindicated as they may be a uterine stimulant, used as an aid to induce labour or have another effect on hormones, pregnancy and lactation.... It could also be there, not because harm may be caused but simply because there hasn’t been enough information gathered because clinical testing on humans during pregnancy is limited (obviously) due to ethical reasons. It’s best to avoid these things, and personally - if the product says it’s not suitable for children under 15 or pregnant women, I question whether it should be used at all. I would definitely recommend working with your naturopath throughout your pregnancy for the best quality high strength practitioner only liquids, tablets/capsules and powders. If you’ve picked up supplements from a supermarket, health food store or pharmacy and you’re not sure about the safety aspect you may like to check in with a qualified staff member or your midwife/other health practitioner for further clarification. For a non prescription option during pregnancy I would recommend doTERRA’s lifelong vitality supplements paired with the best wholefood powder I have come across from @foragedforyou_ I find this one fantastic in smoothies and is suitable for preconception, pregnancy, postpartum plus it won’t hurt to give your little ones some extra nutrition if you’re sharing your morning smoothie with the kids. Which supplements did you take through your journey?

03.01.2022 http://A-Z Series Blue Tansy Fruity, mellow, balsamic are some of the ways to describe her. I have certainly heard worse depending on what your nose thinks!... Also referred to as Moroccan Tansy, blue tansy is an annual yellow-flowered Mediterranean plant found in northern Morocco. Chamazulene, a chemical component in Blue Tansy, provides the characteristic indigo colour and is recognised for its skin soothing benefits. You may have heard of the smurf oil. Ensure you dilute appropriately to avoid skin sensitivity or staining! Blue Tansy can be diffused to create a positive and uplifting atmosphere. She is very much known for her benefits to the skin. Add 1 or 2 drops to your favourite moisturiser or cleanser and apply topically to help reducethe appearance of blemishes or to hydrate and soothe the skin. You may even try adding 1 or 2 drops in lotion for a restoring massage after a stressful day or extremeworkout. Is she in your collection?

02.01.2022 "LONG-TERM MENSTRUAL SUPPRESSION VIA BIRTH CONTROL IS THE LARGEST UNCONTROLLED MEDICAL EXPERIMENT ON WOMEN IN HISTORY" ELIZABETH KISSLING PHD I'm part of this e...xperiment I suppressed my hormones for over a decade. How many of you have taken part too? Some time ago the quest to give women reproductive freedom went very wrong, birth control is now one of the most over prescribed medications & it is responsible for so many hormonal conditions. The pill is not treatment for acne, infertility, pcos or irregular periods. They are all symptoms that there is all ready a hormonal imbalance. The pill is going to shut down the communication in your body even more so. Hormonal birth control CANNOT give you a period. - I want you to know exactly how it works so, the next time your Dr recommends the pill to fix your hormonal imbalances, you can make an informed decision and be an advocate for your health. When you bleed on the pill it may look like a natural period, but its not, it is a pharmaceutical induced bleed that is made by a sudden drop in synthetic hormones, which forces the uterine lining to shed. There is no medical reason to bleed monthly on hormonal birth control because the pill is a cocktail of synthetic hormones that shuts down your HPA axis - or natural communication between your brain & ovaries. So why does your doctor use the pill to regulate your cycle? When the pill was invented contraceptives were illegal. So the pill began to be prescribed under the cover of medication for regulating menstruation. The truth is, doctor’s are still prescribing birth control pills to normalise and regulate your hormones, even when nothing could be further from the truth. Synthetic steroid hormones are NOT superior to your own natural Estradiol and Progesterone. And if your cycles are irregular, your body is telling you something’s imbalanced deep inside. Shutting down your own production of hormones is not a solution, it is shutting down the communication between your brain & ovaries. I strongly believe there needs to be a shift in educating our Drs about the pill, but it starts with you, education is power. Lets empower our daughters xx

02.01.2022 Gestational Diabetes //What is it? When women develop high levels of blood sugar (hyperglycaemia) during pregnancy. Approximately 14% of pregnant women go through GD.... What puts you at risk? you have a family history of type 2 diabetes you are pregnant and aged 35 + a previous pregnancy was one with GD you are overweight or obese you have polycystic ovary syndrome are Black Americans, Hispanic, Native American, Asian American or Pacific Islander. It’s important to mention that 44% of women with gestational diabetes don’t have the above risk factors. The development of insulin resistance during pregnancy serves as a physiological adaptation of the mother to ensure the growing fetus receives an adequate carbohydrate supply. Because of this, the mother will use more fats than carbs and becomes insulin resistant to keep glucose in her bloodstream to ensure sufficient stores for the baby. Screening for GD is done near the 24-28 week mark to coincide with the natural surge of insulin resistance in pregnancy. The screening test for GD is quite controversial, to be continued...

01.01.2022 http://Management Whilst some women will require insulin, the first steps come through lifestyle modifications and thankfully GD responds exceptionally well to changes made through diet. The big one - ... Avoid refined sugar and the names it might be hidden under such as; Cane crystals, cane juice, corn syrup, brown sugar, dextrose glucose, golden sugar, high fructose corn syrup, HFCS, icing sugar, sucrose. Artificial sweeteners are not the answer such as aspartame and sucralose (equal), they are full of toxic chemicals. Stevia would be the best option as it doesn’t raise blood sugar levels. Tropical fruits, dried fruits and natural sweeteners can also spike glucose levels and are best eaten in moderation or avoided by those with gestational diabetes. Examples: Dried apricot, dried figs, dried cranberries, goji berries, dates, raisins, pineapple, papaya, banana, real maple syrup, honey, coconut sugar and brown rice syrup. Avoid processed white carbohydrates. Swap bread, pasta and crackers for things like beans, chickpeas, lentils, oats (not instant), brown/black/wild rice (not white or instant) and teff. Dense root vegetables are nourishing and provide healthy carbohydrates. They are yummy and bulk up meals easily. Beets, carrots, organic corn, parsnips, turnips, sweet potato, pumpkin, yams and taro root. Amaranth, buckwheat and quinoa and great pseudo grains as they contain more protein than cereal grains to help stabilise blood sugar. I love a good quinoa salad. Did you know - Cinnamon can assist in balancing blood sugar and has been shown to help change how the body responds to insulin. And finally, some important tips which are important for everyone; Exercise - for atleast 30mins per day. Be sure to listen to your body and know which suits your body best. Aqua aerobics, a nice walk in the sunshine, yoga or pregnancy friendly classes at your gym are ideal. Manage stress - say no to things that don’t bring you joy and look at things like reading a book, going for a nature walk or meditation. Eat regularly - 3 balanced meals per day and snacks are important. Don’t skip breakfast as it could lead to poorer choices through the day or a blood sugar crash. Plan to breastfeed - breastfeeding as soon as possible and skin to skin contact after birth will help stabilise the baby’s blood sugar and benefit mum from potential type 2 diabetes. Probiotics - ability to reduce prevalence of gestational diabetes especially in women 35+ and those who have had GD previously. Do you take them?

What you eat from January to December is what will help you reach your goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle - not what you consume in one week from Christmas to New Year.
