25.01.2022 In and around the school today: The K/P/Year 1 class were engaged in a variety of spelling activities. In groups, the Year 4/5/6 students were using quiz cards with either a name or description to test each other on their understanding of Digital Technology Vocabulary.... The Year 9/10 Specialised Physical Education students completed a fitness test. Two students managed to stand on one leg for 8 minutes which was quite a feat.

24.01.2022 The K/P/Year 1 class have been busy this term learning about dinosaurs. They have been lucky enough to participate in a variety of activities such as excavating dinosaur bones from the sandpit, melting fossilised dinosaur eggs and making dinosaur tracks with paint. If you have a student in the class why not ask them all about dinosaurs, we are sure you’ll be surprised by how much they know.

23.01.2022 Yesterday, Secondary students who made the midterm reward were treated to a Photography Masterclass using iPads at Macpherson Homestead with Mrs Jenny McDonald. We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Jenny McDonald for giving up her time and for sharing her love of photography with our students.



23.01.2022 Reminder Sick Children Please be aware that there are currently both flu-like illnesses and a gastro bug in our local community. It is important that children are kept home from school if they are suffering from these conditions to prevent the illnesses from spreading. Children need to remain at home for 24 hours after the diarrhoea or vomiting have ceased. More information on gastroenteritis from the Department of Health can be found on the Carnamah DHS website.

22.01.2022 The Year 9/10 Food class were fortunate enough to have Mr Tim Dixon, a qualified chef, in class last week. He demonstrated various preparation skills including shredding, paysanne, julienne, and brunoise. Students made delicious, healthy rice paper rolls and dipping sauce under his guidance. Yesterday Mr Dixon showed the Year 11 and 12 Food Science Technology students various ways to cut and bone whole chickens. Students began with half a raw chicken and ended up with kebabs, chicken lollypops, boneless breasts, drumsticks, parmigiana, bones for chicken stock, chicken pieces, and chicken wings. We would like to thank Mr Dixon for sharing his knowledge with our students.

19.01.2022 Today is Australian Primary Principals Day. We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Miss Morgan and all Primary Principals for the amazing work they do.

17.01.2022 This term the K/P/Year 1 class have been learning about services in the community. Students have enjoyed visits from the Volunteer Fire Brigade, St John Ambulance and our local Police. A big thank you to Carnamah IGA for providing signs, sales tickets and various items to set up a shop. We would like to thank everyone from our local community services who gave up their time to visit our students and share their experiences.

16.01.2022 This term the Year 9/10 Physical Education students have been learning the finer points of Badminton.



14.01.2022 Last week the Primary Reward was a Japanese themed one. Everyone enjoyed making onigiri (Japanese rice balls) or sushi. Thank you to Mrs Isbister for organising this fun reward.

13.01.2022 The Year 9/10 Specialised Physical Education class on Thursday afternoons are learning the game of Lawn Bowls. They have studied the different techniques and history of Lawn Bowls and are now putting their knowledge into practice with the help of Mr Con Kikeros and Mr Warren Sivyer from the Carnamah Bowling Club.

13.01.2022 Last night it was wonderful to see the school community come together for our Presentation Night. Congratulations to the award winners and thank you to all those who contributed to make the evening such a success. We are sure you will agree that the items were a credit to the students and staff.

12.01.2022 As an end of year reward, students who achieved the required target enjoyed an afternoon at Carnamah Pool. It was wonderful to see students relaxed and enjoying themselves.

Astro Tourism love sharing the night sky and stargazing with new friends. You will learn something amazing and hear about the latest happenings with special presentations. 12.01.2022 Students in Years 9 and 10 have recently commenced a Ceramics program. They have been developing essential skills in sculpture using earthenware and learning about renowned ceramics styles and artists. They are currently refining their skills through the creation of a to-scale, realistic fruit model. Most students have progressed to painting their work, which has required meticulous colour mixing and matching, with some excellent results.

11.01.2022 Yesterday students who made the Primary Reward participated in a QR Code Scavenger Hunt where they worked in mixed-age groups to find QR codes hidden around the school. They scanned the QR codes with their iPads and each code linked them through to a question relating to classroom activities that occurred during the term. The winners were the group that found and answered the most questions correctly. Great fun was had by all the students.

11.01.2022 Last Friday, 28th August, the House Athletics Carnival was held at Niven Park. Results were Eradu - 1297 points, Acacia - 1217 points and Zircon - 1097 points. Thank you to all the students, staff and volunteers who made the day a successful one.

10.01.2022 Today we celebrated Aboriginal Childrens Day. Students participated in a variety of activities including learning about Aboriginal music, planting indigenous seeds, the art of tracking and they played a game of Koolchee. It was wonderful to have so many parents and members of the community watching and participating in the activities.

09.01.2022 Thank you to Mr Mathew Opalinski, Mr Peter Rayner and Mr Graham Doust for their donations and contributions to our school over the weekend. The sand is being used for the jump pits at our athletics carnival and to refill our playgrounds. Your hard work is appreciated by all the staff and students.

03.01.2022 Yesterday in Food Science Technology the Year 11 and 12 students cooked chicken stock and parmigiana with Mr Tim Dixon. This was following on from last weeks lesson on deboning a chicken. Year 9/10 Design and Technology students have been designing and creating spice racks.

01.01.2022 The last few weeks have been very busy in and around the School with students engaged in various activities. The Year 9/10 students participated in a workshop conducted in conjunction with the Next Generation program which aims to educate students about the oil and gas industry. In Science with Miss Kerr, Year 5 students have been looking at capillaries within plants. When they did an experiment with celery and water/dye they discovered that the water/dye could be sucked up to reach the leaves, simulating a plant absorbing water from the soil. In Specialised Physical Education, Year 9/10 students have been continuing to learn about the art of Lawn Bowls.

01.01.2022 On Friday, 4th September children from babies to 4 years old and their parents were invited to join our P/Year 1 class for a morning of fun activities and outdoor play. The children enjoyed listening to the story Alpacas with Maracas and then making their own maraca. The noise in the classroom clearly indicated how successful this activity was! It was great to see so many mums and young children getting comfortable in the school setting. Thank you to Mrs Karen Isbister and Mrs Justine Camac for organising this fabulous morning.

01.01.2022 Education Assistants play a huge role in our classrooms and in the lives of our students, and Teacher Aide Appreciation Week is a chance to celebrate them!
