24.01.2022 Today our Commander was recognised at the Shire of Carnarvon Volunteer Awards along with a number of other very deserving volunteers in town. Congratulations everyone! Thank you for the amazing efforts you put into helping our community
24.01.2022 Another successful rescue mission for us by us. Yes you read that right. Today Carnarvon Sea rescue had to go out and assist our very own members (in their own boat) and bring them in safely. Thank you Carnarvon Sea Rescue for a job well done!
24.01.2022 Perth Career firefighter Andrew Strunk and Albany Sea Rescue volunteer Jason Shepherd were honoured yesterday with one of the countrys highest decorations for ...bravery. The Australian Bravery Medal is awarded to those who selflessly put themselves in jeopardy to protect the lives of others. In both instances the men were off duty but didnt hesitate to leap into action. In 2017 the façade of a building collapsed in North Fremantle, trapping a woman in her car. With the façade still falling, Andrew coordinated bystanders to work together to clear debris and then push the car out of danger. His quick thinking and incredible bravery helped save her life. With just a humble boogie board, Jason waded into a dangerous rip 3 times to save 7 (2 adults and 5 children) people who had been caught in the current at Nanarup Beach in February 2017. This is Jasons second decoration for bravery, after receiving a Group Bravery Citation with the Albany Sea Rescue Group following a harrowing rescue in 2015. Congratulations to both Andrew and Jason, WA is a lucky community to be able to count on such exemplary individuals.

22.01.2022 Yesterday we responded to a incident at Quobba where a vessel had been turned over and four people were in the water. We sent a crew up to the location and thankfully all those in the water were safe however, their boat wasn't. Our crew managed to flip the boat back over and tow it safely back to Carnarvon. Thank you to our crew for taking the time from your day to help with this mission and thanks to all involved for successfully rescuing passengers. Thanks to EPIRBs and life jackets this was a great outcome and comes as a reminder to all those who love to go out on the boat that these items are of upmost importance in boating safety. Always be sure to check the current weather information, including swells to ensure that the conditions are going to be suitable for your boating activities.
21.01.2022 Early this morning we had a call from a worried partner. Our crews wasted no time heading out to investigate the situation and upon arrival found the vessel had taken on a considerable amount of water and was ashore. Our crew collected the men and their belongings and bought them home safe and sound, however unfortunately the vessel was not so lucky. A huge thank you to our local boys who took time out from fishing in Carnar-Fin and working to assist. We are so glad that everyone made it home safely!! Don't forget to Log on and Log off. For SMS log on and off please text 0455 851 318.

18.01.2022 THINKING OF HEADING OUT ON THE BOAT THIS WEEKEND? THINK AGAIN! The Department of Transport says recreational boating activities should be postponed or cancelled, as a result of the government's restrictions on non-essential travel, gatherings, and social distancing. On facebook, DoT said skippers should "stay safe and stay home for now". ... 08.01.2022 This weekend some of our members completed the Sea survival 1 and seaman ship 1 training. They learnt skills such as keeping body warmth in the ocean, surviving in the ocean (if they were to ever go overboard) and life raft skills. Thanks to Simon and Dan for coming and doing the training with us and thanks to all members that took the time to do this training.
08.01.2022 Hi all, Just some info for recreational boating amd fishing. Recreational boating... See below common questions about recreational boating during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The following information is provided to the States 100,000 recreational boat owners and others who enjoy the States waterways using other craft. Can I go boating? We recommend if you dont need to go out on your boat, then please dont. Non-essential activities should be postponed or cancelled. Please view State Government Directions on gatherings and social distancing. Is there a ban on boating? No, there has been no direction to prohibit people from going boating - but you should stay at home if the planned activity is non-essential. Can I go kiteboarding, windsurfing, kayaking or take out my paddle craft? Advice from the Federal and State Government is to stay at home unless shopping for food, going to work, exercising or attending a medical appointment. If you consider kayaking or paddling essential as a form of exercise, you should follow social distancing directions. If boating is an essential activity, possibly for fishing or exercise, what do I need to remember? The two-person rule applies unless you are boating with members of your family or those you live with. If boating with one person that you do not reside with, ensure you maintain social distancing (at least 1.5 metres apart). Use hand sanitiser where there is any contact with shared surfaces. If you are boating alone, please ensure you tell someone where you are going, check the weather and wear a lifejacket. Should I do anything different at the launch ramp? Wait your turn at the ramp and if there are two lanes, only use one to ensure social distancing. Do the same on your return to the ramp when retrieving your boat from the water. Remember to maintain social distancing and personal hygiene at all times. Are there restrictions on where I can go boating? Skippers should be aware of the current notices to mariners, including those in place restricting access to Rottnest Island. There are also restrictions preventing vessels crossing regional boundaries. Can I buy fuel for my boat and other essentials? Yes. However, in line with Government advice, you should stay at home unless shopping for food, going to work, exercising or attending a medical appointment. Can I do maintenance on my boat at a marina? Check with marina staff at the facility before going. Are DoT maritime facilities open? Yes. However, in line with Government advice, if your visit is not essential, please reconsider your need to attend. Will there be a pause on boat registrations? No. DoT continues to process recreational boat registrations. Thanks
