22.01.2022 I always enjoy talking with Kate, so I hope you can tune in for this
17.01.2022 In between writing and talking to writers, I'm doing some very informal chats with local artists for members of the Clifton School of Arts, to remind everyone who lives on this gorgeous strip of coast that we are blessed with a lot of local talent. Including Ash Frost, who talks here about place and colour. The School of Arts has a proud history. It was built in 1911 by striking miners who wanted a place where they could enjoy music, painting, books and dances. It is still owned by the community, and when it reopens ( soon we hope) it will be a reborn hub for exhibitions and performances and big plans for the future. Hope to see you there.
15.01.2022 Great stories, wisdom and life experience will make this a special conversation Hope you can join us. It's free, but you need to book.
10.01.2022 Always a pleasure to talk to Kate about craft, character, bending history and the difficult bits of the past we need to face. So funny that we both chose to wear purple that night!
05.01.2022 I love the scale and themes of this festival which is powering along despite everything ...very happy that I'll be talking to Colum McCann about his dazzling, complex, controversial novel Apeirogon on Aug 14 ( via Zoom) and I will be at the national Museum talking via Zoom with Alain de Botton on Aug 16 about his School of Life essays which provide every day wisdom in a time of chaos and uncertainty. You need to be there!
