20.01.2022 New Gallery 359 River Road Swan Hill, Art Classes Resume Within all the chaos and lockdown madness I have managed to stay sane by relocating my Gallery to its new location 359 River Rd, Swan Hill. I am very excited to be located much closer to town and hope to offer more opportunities to get my community involved in my business. I will have extra art classes and viewing times and even musical opportunities. And NDIS supported. New classes include an evening class, at this ...stage 6:30pm on a Thursday and maybe a weekend class, Covid restrictions will be adhered to. If you are interested in joining one of my classes let me know ASAP so I can lock some days and times in. Current classes are held Thursday mornings 11am to 2pm and kids classes at Neighbourhood House Mondays 3:45 to 4:45 (spaces are limited so book now). When Covid restrictions ease I am looking forward to having a fun opening at the new River Road Art Gallery, but for now if you would like a walk around please let me now and we can arrange it. More new opportunities exist for NDIS supported individual one-one-one and group art classes and instrumental exploration and tutoring in my new music studio. 15.01.2022 Know of anyone who needs support? Please let them know about me. :) My specialist skills include teaching art and music. With the clients I enjoy exploring art mediums and various musical instruments including sing a longs. Instruments include percussion, African drums, drum kit, guitar, ukulele and key board. My new gallery and wellness centre on River Road includes ample space for one-on-one support or group classes.... The gallery and wellness centre is situated on a large block on River Road surrounded by established native trees and shrubs. It is very therapeutic and includes gorgeous decks, a gazebo and a small lake to sit and relax with a cuppa. Activities include cooking and exercising. There will soon be a games room and plenty of other activities to keep clients amused and stimulated. Close proximity to the river allows walks (with or without my therapy dogs) and bike riding. I have 20 years’ experience teaching and in that time I have worked with both individuals with disabilities, mental health issues and seniors. I am happy to talk to any potential clients about their support needs. 14.01.2022 Had a fantastic afternoon acrylic pouring thanks to Biddy and Colin today. We all did awesome work. 11.01.2022 Colin Blight NDIS support art student. One of my newest art students funded through the NDIS has been impressing me with his art skills. We have been working in the mediums of chalk pastel and water colour. Recently I fund he was quiet talented at drawing so I have started him with shading and drawing techniques with graphite pencil. ... Colin had a stroke in 2016 and he was told he would not walk or regain speech. Four years on Colin is walking and talking very well and even driving his car. He now lives independently and manages to do everything with his only working hand, his left, which he has had to learn to do. The art classes are so good for Colin to practice controlling his left hand. It is inspiring what he can achieve. Colin says he has never done art before, his carer Biddy has encouraged him to come along and he is really enjoying it and really producing great work. Next I give Colin experience with acrylic painting and clay modelling. I am so delighted to be working with Colin and all my students.
