24.01.2022 Dementia can be a poorly understood disease. Memory difficulties are a widely recognised symptom of Dementia. There are, however, many more challenges - such as losing the ability to start a sequence (e.g. teeth brushing, cutting food); difficulty solving problems; loss of strength; declining sensory processing (e.g. recognising feeling hot or cold - then doing something about it, which requires a sequence to be started!) and so on. If someone in your family has Dementia please gather as much information as you can to understand what is happening. This will help your compassion and patience.
