24.01.2022 An amazing opportunity to connect up with the SA Chief Entrepreneur, the Deputy Premier Vickie Chapman and a room full of entrepreneurs to discuss opportunities to #reignitesa through entrepreneurship. Thanks Wendy Perry for putting the event together. So proud to have all of these entrepreneurs pictured as part of the membership of the Women in Business Regional Network.

24.01.2022 Thanks to Georgia Roberts of ABC North and West for speaking with me early this morning. If you'd like to listen check out the podcast about 30 mins in. https://www.abc.net.au//progr/breakfast/breakfast/12543988

22.01.2022 Only three sleeps to go for mayoral candidates! Remember, you can't bring about real changes to your local council unless you put your voice forward to be heard at an election. If you haven't lodged your vote yet (all 65% of eligible electors) there is still opportunity to do so and to drop it into the ballot box at the council.... 21.01.2022 Brings back a few memories going into a radio studio, but technology has changed so much since my journalist and news reading days on ABC regional and national radio in NSW and voicing ads on Mid Coast Radio 2MC back in the 1980s/1990s. Thanks to Jennie Lenman of Power FM SA and 1125 5MU again for providing air time to me to talk about the Women in Business Regional Network and BizNatal - Small Business Incubator. Regional media play such an important role in our local communities. Where would we be without them.

21.01.2022 Let's hope whoever the new Mayor of the City of Victor Harbor is come next Saturday (just six sleeps away), they can help to create a team that's in the green more often than the red. 21.01.2022 I was recently asked to provide a 60second video about why I created the Women in Business Regional Network and what it means to me. In case you've ever wondered what drives me to travel the countryside without becoming a millionaire this may provide some insight. Sometimes, for a range of reasons, business is more about impact than $$$, and that's what often sustains our regional communities ... just think of the many volunteers that hold our regions together.

16.01.2022 It's beginning to feel like Christmas is coming.... Nice to see that despite the cancellation of many events regional towns are still getting into the Christmas spirit. Spotted Rudolph outside the Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre between Normanville and Yankalilla yesterday when over that way seeing a client. Have you spotted any in your area? I'd love to know.

14.01.2022 As the final votes are cast in the local government elections please accept my sincere thanks to everyone who has made me feel so respected and appreciated during the election campaign. I've loved connecting with so many local groups, reconnecting with many familiar faces, and chatting about the issues our community faces, as well as the good things, and visions to help make our community even greater. To the many people who I've never met who have defended me on social media... - thank you. It can be a very unforgiving environment at times, but comprises many good people and achieves much good too. To those who have shot me a smile, a nod or a wink as I've gone about my day-to-day life in Victor Harbor - thanks. To all of the councillor candidates: I wish you all the best. Each of you have demonstrated in my eyes you have passion for the local community, a wide range of talents, experience and interest, and a desire to achieve a good team. I hope that whoever is elected (councillors and mayor) will be able to put aside past years and aim to start with a fresh palette to create a brighter future for our area. Thank you to my other supporters too. Big THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to vote and showed an interest in the election. No matter what happens in tomorrow's count I will still remain strongly committed to our community and hope to get the opportunity to not only return to the many groups who made me welcome, but also visit new ones in the future too. 14.01.2022 COVID-19 is taking its toll mentally on many small business owners, including regional hospitality venues that have been faced with rapid changes to restrictions and rules. Think of this when travelling these school holidays. For more tips on how you can help check out my latest blog - https://carolynjeffrey.com.au/patience-understanding-at-re/

14.01.2022 During my campaign I have had the pleasure of meeting so many locals who have showed me such lovely hospitality and made me feel proud to be part of this community. If you're looking for a really friendly friendship group and a game of cards and a cuppa I can recommend the 9am Tuesday sessions St Augustines Victor Harbor Anglican Church Hall in Victor. I honed my manners by learning a new game called May I? Thanks again everyone for making me feel very welcome today. ... 13.01.2022 I was very grateful to have seen this message last night on the Business Victor Harbor Facebook page. It has been my privilege to have assisted behind the scenes on and off with Business Victor Harbor (and before that Victor Harbor Business Association) over a period spanning about 20 years, including being the foundation secretary. If I'm elected mayor I will continue to support business and economic development in Victor Harbor, but in a different way. If I'm not elected I will continue to volunteer my services and support Business Victor Harbor in the way I have done. Written & authorised by Carolyn Jeffrey, 11 Dwiar Road, Victor Harbor.

12.01.2022 It's wonderful to see the regions now offering spaces like this one that has just been opened by the Loxton Chamber of Commerce. We're seeing shared spaces pop up all over the state either privately owned and operated like Meeting Place McLaren Vale, operated by local business organisations or, in the case of the new Alexandrina Council hub in Goolwa, operated by the local council. Don't forget to support these facilities where you can, particularly if you're someone like me who operates from home and may have traditionally used local cafes. Due to COVID-19 space at your local cafe really needs to be available for paying customers due to the current restrictions.

12.01.2022 Love getting out to SA regions. Today it's the Barossa. Lovely old pubs and fantastic to see a family running the Greenock Hotel. #regionalbusiness #barossavalley #barossa #wibregional #wibnetwork #womeninbusiness

11.01.2022 The winner is.... Moira for Mayor Congratulations and good luck with the new council.... Thanks once again to all my supporters. I look forward to catching up with you as I continue to live work and volunteer in this great community.

11.01.2022 Migrants present an important workforce resource and population boost for our regions. I was honoured to be a speaker this week at the Murray Bridge Migrant Resource Centre for their Sister Act program. It was great to be able to give advice and support to this group of regional migrant women on what's needed to start your own business and also the opportunities the current pandemic presents. It was a different experience for me working with a Chinese interpreter, who did a great job. I'm left with confidence there'll be some new business ventures in the pipeline. It was a great chance too to release information about my new enterprise - BizNatal - Small Business Incubator which aims to help people raise their business "babies" from conception through to adulthood.

08.01.2022 For someone whose only overseas trips have been to Kangaroo Island and Granite Island (but via the Causeway), it is exciting to be working with someone like Chioma Amaechi of CA Legal & Migration in Loxton as a business client and member of the Women in Business Regional Network. I was privileged to hear her story first hand recently when we spoke at the Murraylands Migration Centre to a group of budding women entrepreneurs. Such an inspiration. She and her doctor husband are true assets for our regional communities.

07.01.2022 A great opportunity to be involved in a meaningful project with some inspirational women leaders in South Australia. And, to think, it probably wouldn't have happened by for COVID-19. What positives have you found during these challenging times? Are you excited like I am for the possibilities it will create for the regions?

04.01.2022 Why do I love living in Victor Harbor? This video might give you a bit of a hint or two.
