09.01.2022 This is a fascinating article on the medical complexity that is Covid-19. If you read the link at the end on recovery, you’ll see how big a job the mental health aspects of the aftermath will be for survivors. Shocking. I hope it prompts us to take more seriously, the need for vigilance in prevention of second spikes when we start easing out of lock down.
01.01.2022 You cannot lead if you set policy but don’t follow it - you lose credibility and are seen as a hypocrite, with one rule for you and another for me. In a time of crisis, leaders ask a lot of their people, in return they ask authenticity of us, truthfulness and accountability. Break that trust at your peril. If you do, then a deep heartfelt and genuine apology with reparation is needed. You’ve heard me before, that a good apology is not about your excuse, for that denies the st...arting point of the feelings held by the aggrieved. It becomes about you before it’s about them. Dominic Cummings and with him Boris Johnston have sought to excuse the inexcusable. Neither has understood the need to say what happened was plain wrong, to apologise, say what for, to acknowledge the impact of the actions and to invite what is needed by way of amends. Those asked to suffer all that went with their pain in isolation are supremely and rightly aggrieved, not just with Cummings’ actions and hard to believe spin, but with the lack of an apology from him or the Prime Minister.
