25.01.2022 UPDATE FOR EXHIBITORS After a slow start with numbers, the show has finally settled on 176 entries. The result of the lower than expected attendance for the show is that we no longer require two judges for the weekend to fit within the shows financial budget.... Graciously Andrew Munn has agreed to withdraw from judging the show and we would like to thank Andrew for his understanding and continuing commitment to the Alpaca Association. We will be having a fabulous weekend, with exciting competition so looking foward to seeing you all soon.

21.01.2022 Attention Exhibitors, As advised by the AAA Member Update #4 circulated Tuesday, 2 April 2019: NO FANS AT SHOWS... As previously advised, we were made aware by WorkSafe authorities of safety concerns about the use of electrical appliances at shows. Effective immediately, the use of electric fans at alpaca shows is suspended for safety reasons. We understand this is an issue to our exhibitors and we are working to resolve the requirements as quickly as possible. We have engaged with an electrical engineer to provide advice on compliance with Australian Standards and will let you know as soon as possible of the outcomes. Safety of our exhibitors, animals and visiting public are the primary concern. This suspension applies to the Carousel of Colour Show. We will provide further information if the suspension is lifted before the show.

10.01.2022 FAN BAN LIFTED As per email communication from the AAA on Wednesday, 10 April 2019 at 11:51am. The suspension on the use of fans at shows has been lifted following a Board meeting on Tuesday, 9 April 2019. Please see your email for links to the endorsement of a Show and Event Equipment Policy and Guideline. ... Guideline Summary Show & Event Equipment The following requirements and recommendations relate to shows and other events where electrical equipment is brought on site for temporary use by exhibitors and other attendees. Certification This applies to temporary (for less than 4 months) electrical installation items such as cabling, outlet boxes, fans, electric water jugs and heaters. Items brought into the event venue must have been certified within the last 12 months with tagging that is current and evident on the equipment. Certification should be arranged by the attendees prior to the event through a qualified testing and tagging service provider. If Equipment does not have current certification, the convener or organiser of the event may require that the equipment be removed from service. Conveners or organisers may require attendees to demonstrate current appropriate testing and tagging of their equipment. Conveners and organisers may, but not obliged to, arrange for a qualified testing and tagging service provider to be in attendance at the event to update certification of equipment that attendees bring. Power Distribution Equipment An Electrical Portable Outlet Device (EPOD) is a device with a single connection to a power supply and one or more socket outlets for equipment, often without earth leakage protection. It is sometimes referred to as a power board. An EPOD must be supplied from either a permanent connection facility such as a socket outlet; or an outlet box Equipment items such as fans may be supplied directly from: A permanent connection facility, or An EPOD connected as above; or Directly from an outlet box. An EPOD may not be supplied from another EPOD. Where equipment such as an outlet box incorporates a Residual Current Device (RCD), the RCD must be tested using the inbuilt test trip function before every use. This will require testing by the user at least once every day during the event. Cabling Cable locks should be used to prevent plug and socket connections from pulling apart. Lead stands should be used to elevate cables that run to multiple pens or locations. Cable lengths are to be minimised to reduce voltage drop Cables and leads shall not be operated when coiled up. Cables, outlet boxes, fans and other equipment must be securely mounted on available structures or dedicated support stands to prevent them moving or falling off.
