25.01.2022 A new and unique table top coming together. The timber to create the weave pattern is very old (am told it’s 80 year old plus) ironbark railway sleepers. Awesome timber to work with unlike new timber that cups and bows when it’s cut. The top is very raw now, I’ve got to fill in the edges, trim them square and there’s a lot of planing and sanding left to do. All the while I’ve got o keep the table looking like it’s old and rustic! I’m having a lot of fun with this job

20.01.2022 Update*** The table top is now going through the sanding and finishing stage, this is the fun part!

17.01.2022 Update on dining table. So the top is sanded (still course sanddd) and wet down as the timber is so dry I’m adding moisture to it before i oil it tomorrow. The wet down surface is a good indicator of what the colours of the table top will look like finished.

16.01.2022 We completed another solid Blackbutt timber vanity with matching mirrored door shaving cabinet. Both units were 1200mm long. The vanity will hung on the wall off the floor.

04.01.2022 The vanity was completed Monday. I’m waiting for the adhesive to dry on the mirrors of the shaving cabinet. The vanity and shaving cabinet are made completely out of solid Blackbutt so there is no risk of the cabinet swelling from humid conditions in a bathroom or from water spilling onto or into the cabinets. Even the drawers are made out of solid timber, no MDF/chip board or plywood here!
