This will be the first time the event has been run by a true trade association after Jena Dyco revived and successfully ran the event for the last 8 years. Following on from Jenny and her professional team, as the chairperson of the RIA Australasian Council I look forward to seeing all my restoration friends at this fantastic venue in 2018! Ross Riek

24.01.2022 #floods #restoration #wetflooring While these emergencies among us may we make a couple of suggestions over the coming week. 1: If your carpet has become wet and damaged don’t leave the carpet as it is and try to dry it yourself. It is much better, in the long run, to have the carpets dried professionally. Therefore if you have insurance cover lodge a claim no matter how small the wet area is. ... 2: If you do not have insurance please contact us for attendance or advice. Flooring needs slightly different treatments and only a qualified IICRC or RIA restorer have the necessary knowledge to make a correct assessment and plan on fixing the wet flooring. (Drying is not as simple as it looks) 3:If you are not sure who would be the best person to come and fix your flooring, please reach out to either us at Carpet Care Floorcoverings (Being the fact you are reading our post you must be a contact or client of ours) or contact Megan from the Restoration Industry Association to find someone qualified and experienced who can help you locally to your home or business. 21.01.2022 Its time to be careful that your home is correctly ventilated. The temperature has dropped and both the slowdown of evaporation and also the likelihood of the indoor environment hitting dew point, we would suggest that as a precaution, move furniture away from the wall a little so as things around the home are correctly ventilated otherwise you may find that our friendly neighbourhood mould will start to take residence in your home. Remember ventilate and airflow will help keep the environment safe. We have also been awarded the NSW Schools Carpet Replacement and Specialist Cleaning contract for 4 years. This was a positive outcome from a negative situation for the St John Bosco College Engadine!... In Australia, we experience huge weather events and in turn, that organically forces Australia to have very skilled restoration companies. It is exciting for us to be a part of a group of businesses trained by IICRC - Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification and Restoration Industry Association, providing a full flood damage service to Aussies! We installed these beautiful Victoria Carpets Planks after extracting all the water, drying the building, all within a week. Now looks like a new school!

Our good friend Ash from Ace Timber Floors in Crows Nest needed a large team who can get through 450 m of carpet tile installation including preparation all completed in a day and he knew just who to call.... Carpet Care Floorcoverings put seven installers on and installed this striking Godfrey Hirst carpet tile for a large commercial office in Sydney City. Working as a team, we achieved a fantastic result together for the client and ensured that our fellow shop owner Ash had a happy client. Through working with us, he was able to have the works completed in the time frame needed. Competition is not always competition and sometimes other local shops can actually become your client! 15.01.2022 New drying equipment arrived and went straight out on a job. Heat box and air mat that target dries , great for drying gyp-rock walls and timber floors. By drying customers premises quicker they can back to normal faster.

05.01.2022 We have had an increased volume of fire damage works this month due to oil heaters exploding and electric heaters tipping over. As I personally felt the emotions of losing my Mother and Father in-law one year ago from a faulty de humidifier causing my wife's family home and her parents to be lost in the fire. I have to stress to my clients and friends of Carpet Care Services to please make sure you have old cheap oil heaters replaced regularly, smoke alarms checked and serviced and to have old fuse boxes upgraded to automatically cut off in the event of a short. Service internal heaters every year and stay safe this winter.

However, we were able to come up with an exciting solution for installing hybrid flooring on stairs (Thinking outside the box). We have found a company that makes custom stair nosing out of the actual hybrid flooring that is being installed. The method is essentially taking the hybrid flooring and mou...lding it around a custom capping that is installed over the nose of the stair so as the flooring matches. The flooring being installed then buts up to the custom cap/nosing on each side. The nosing is now a perfect match as it is the actual flooring being installed not a silver-painted stair tread or after-market made nosing. The result is perfect!
