14.01.2022 Pancreatic cancer symptoms you need to know! Pancreatic cancer can be difficult to detect due to the location of the pancreas. Symptoms are often vague and can ...be similar to other medical conditions. Often diagnosis occurs one the cancer is advanced which makes treatment difficult. Awareness of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer is incredibly important. Symptoms include jaundice (yellow skin, eyes and dark urine), fatigue, loss of appetite, indigestions, mid-back pain, dark urine, changes in stools, new-onset diabetes, abdominal pain, unexplained weightloss. Having one or more of these symptoms does not necessarily mean you have pancreatic cancer, however it is important to see your GP if you are experiencing any of these, especially if it is unusual for you or persistent. This November marks the launch of a dedicated campaign during pancreatic and stomach cancer awareness months, which will see the 42 national Floorworld stores and around 300 staff go purple to raise funds and awareness for Pancare Foundation. This session will focus on complementary therapies that can be used to assist with treatment side effects and boost the immune system. We will hear from Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre's Oncology Massage Therapist, Eve Francis, and Chinese Medicine Acupuncturist, Christine Lee from the Neighbourhood Clinic in Fitzroy. The session will be facilitated by Sonia, our Patient & Carers Support Services Manager.
