22.01.2022 Happy New Year to our community As we celebrate entering a new year we watch with sadness the atrocities happening around the Nation and the grief of the families that have lost loved ones, particularly from our fire fighting family As a brigade, we ask that you be mindful at all times of weather conditions and adhere to any fire restrictions in place and use common sense if there are not any current restrictions ... For information on Total Fire Bans or Fire related information visit www.fire.tas.gov.au Carrick Brigade is proud of all their members - we have had some travel to NSW, travel intra state to fires such as Fingals current active fire, spend time as part of strike teams which are placed at strategic areas around the North and those that stay at home to take care of our area, which during hot days includes our neighbours areas, and some are involved in other emergency organisations as well We should never be complacent that fires like is happening can’t/won’t happen to us Take care - stay safe

22.01.2022 MESSAGE FROM PARKS AND WILDLIFE Visitors to national parks and reserves are reminded that campfire restrictions remain in place. Weather conditions have eased and the Total Fire Ban has ended but it is not safe to light fires.... A number of illegal and unattended campfires have been reported over the past week at east coast reserves. In the current dry conditions, campfires can easily escape, spread rapidly and are difficult to control. Help protect our parks and reserves by knowing local conditions and adhering to restrictions. Restrictions on campfires, pot fires and other solid fuel stoves are in place at all coastal reserves from Bellingham to Bridport, the north east coastal strip from Waterhouse Conservation Area to Mt William National Park, Snaky Creek and Tooms Lake Conservation Areas, Narawntapu National Park and Maria Island National Park; and all other national parks and reserves in the Break O’Day, Glamorgan-Spring Bay, Sorell and Tasman Municipalities. Further areas may be added if the fire risk in those areas escalates. Up-to-date information about campfire restrictions and reserve and track closures is at www.parks.tas.gov.au

09.01.2022 Proud of 2 of our TFS family currently in NSW - Tom Marik, Carrick/Hadspen Brigade and Peter Hynes, Hadspen Brigade, who is on his second deployment Thus photo was taken Thursday by New York Times Yesterday saw a bad situation where a fire started by someone not being entirely responsible, saw a major fire at Winkleigh and surrounding area. This escalated to an Emergency Warning with an Evacuation Centre being opened in Exeter ... We ask that in weather conditions like yesterday you be very aware that welding, grinding, mowing etc may contribute to a catastrophic event
