24.01.2022 Our deepest sympathies go out to Paul Egan, his mother Imelda and the extended family after the passing of father & husband, Andrew Crowley. Andrew had a lengthy battle with cancer which he sadly lost on the morning of Saturday, November 14. Andrew was a regular supporter of the club following Paul around to his matches and was in regular contact until his health declined. One of Andrew's final wishes was that we take care of Paul as one of our own. As such, we would like to ...welcome club members to support Paul, Imelda & family by attending Andrew's funeral service this Thursday, November 26 starting 2:30pm at Bunurong Memorial Park, 790 Frankston - Dandenong Rd, Dandenong South. Please respect that as of 11:59pm tonight funerals are limited to 150 people. If attending please also respect the COVID-19 restrictions in place by the government and the venue. Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul, Imelda, family and friends through these challenging times.

21.01.2022 What better way to cheer up a dreary weekend than to announce the 2nd of our key signings for season 2020/21. Ladies and gentlemen, Season 2019/20 saw us with yet another new recruit out of the South East Cricket Association. Jum Quarmby and wife Chloe moved down to the peninsula in recent years, and after the birth of their first son Ted, Jum was looking for something a bit closer to home. With family the priority, Jum was unable to commit to a full season, however ended up ...playing 12 of 14 games all the while scoring 422 runs to lead our batting and finish 4th in Sub-District. A former NSW state cricketer at u17 level, Jum joined us as a wicketkeeper/batsman. With Brad already established as our main man behind the stumps, such is the class of Jum that he set high standards as arguably our best fielder patrolling the covers and making batsman aware of his presence. With that we are pleased to announce Jum Quarmby has recommitted to 2020/21. We look forward to having Jum, Chloe and Ted around for many years to come. See more

21.01.2022 Dear Members, I hope you are all keeping safe. Firstly, we would like to take the time to say thank you to Brad Lockhart and Ryan Lynch for all the time and effort they put into the club last season. ... This coming season we are going to be trying something a little different. Instead of a Club Coach we are going to have a Coaching Panel to organise and run training. This will allow all members the opportunity to seek some assistance with improving their game. The make up of this panel will be announced prior to the start of pre-season training. I am pleased to announce that James (Jum) Quarmby will be taking the reins as 1st Eleven Captain next season. As we all saw last season, Jum is a very talented cricketer and brought a wealth of experience into the team. He has had an immediate impact on the club and we are looking for bigger and better things from Jum in 2020/21. We have been working very hard during the off-season targeting players that we feel will keep CDCC moving in the right direction and have been able to improve our senior list with the recent signings of Tom Smith (Shane Smiths younger brother), Rob Johnston and Lachlan Tosh who will all add experience and depth to our playing group. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me. Russell Blackburn President CDCC 0418 108 770

21.01.2022 Given the circumstances we have been unable to hold our annual presentation night event. We contemplated announcing the winners over a series of posts on Facebook but we feel this doesnt give them or their achievements the recognition they deserve. With this in mind we will be announcing the winners and presenting trophies to them just prior to round one commencing. We also have an update regarding our Annual General Meeting. We have Sunday the 28th of June pencilled in, pen...ding announcements from the government we will announce a venue and/or format in the near future. On a positive note Russell and the committee would like all of our members to know that we are still here and active ensuring the club is thriving and functioning as well as it needs to be right now. You will have seen the previous posts and our recruitment drive this pre-season has been very healthy. You may also be aware that we received a grant last year to renovate our clubrooms. We are pleased to be able to tell you that the modernisation of our facilities is proceeding well and we are looking forward to a reveal in the near future. Please stay safe, play some backyard cricket with your kids and we hope to see you soon CDCC Committee See more

10.01.2022 Ladies & gentlemen, It is with great pleasure that we can announce the commitment of Shane Smith for season 2020/21. Shane came to us in season 2018/19 with high expectations. Whilst he worked on his tan in Fiji for the first month of cricket, he slowly started to show us why he is considered to be one of the premier bowlers in the Sub-District competition upon his return. Then in 2019/20, our frontline bowler proved to be the competitions best before being struck down in Rd....11 with a shoulder injury. Testament to Shanes character and leadership he captained the 2nd XI in the last 2 games of the season while battling his shoulder injury. Otherwise, taking the first ball each week in the 1st XI with his 31 wickets in 9 matches at 13.6 tells the story of just how good Shane is. Great to have you on board again, Smudge! See more
