24.01.2022 You may remember April Welsh from our event earlier this year putting on a great demo display in her Formula Vee race car for the crowds. April has been a long time supporter of various charities helping kids and has just launched her own campaign to raise funds for researching the treatment, cure and prevention of type 1 diabetes. She aims to completely cover her car with the names of kids who live with type 1 diabetes. 24.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago we shared the disappointing news that the RAC Driver Training Centre was scheduled to close. The closure would be a huge lose to the community with the venue having been utilised by drivers of all ages and skill levels, from novice drivers improving their confidence and ability right up to exeprienced motorsport drivers participating in competitive events. Since our last post, good friend and fellow motoring enthusiast Jeff Ash has been working hard to save the venue and stop the closure with stories shown across the media. We ask all of the Cars 4 Kids supporters to head over to the 'Save the RAC Centre' page to show your support and to help us save this great venue. Thank you.

23.01.2022 Preparation for our next event is continuing with recent meetings and site tours at the new Children's Hospital, Joondalup Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital. Unfortunately we can't share any photos from inside the new Children's Hospital, but we can tell you that it is an absolutely amazing facility and we can't wait to see the doors open to the public. We are making some big changes to the event format which we are sure the kids will love! To accomplish this we will be expanding our team at all levels. 21.01.2022 Last weekend we caught up with some of the drivers from the Cars 4 Kids event at the MC State Sprint Championship to present them with certificates as a token of our appreciation for their effort. They worked hard all day in the heat so that we could squeeze in as many rides as possible! We also made a presentation our hosts MC Motorsport and RAC DTEC. MC Motorsport staff volunteered their time not only at the event but also on many occasions during the months leading up to the event. Thank you.

15.01.2022 It is with great disappointment that we must share the news that the RAC Driver Training Centre, the venue used to host our inaugural event will soon close. Although this means that we will no longer be able to hold our event at the RAC venue, when one door closes another one opens. Thankfully there are other suitable venues available in Perth, one of which has generously offered to host our events in the future. We look forward to overcoming the challenges that a new venue will present and hope to bring you a bigger and better event in the future.

15.01.2022 As we approach the 12 month mark since our inaugural event many people have been asking if there will be another Cars 4 Kids event this year. Unfortunately due to a number of reasons it is unlikely that we will host an event in 2017, however the team has started work on the next event which we hope to have ready for 2018. There is likely to be a venue change due to the circumstances around the temporary closure of the RAC facility and the new restriction on race cars which is... disappointing due to the suitability and accessibility of that venue. There is also likely to be a number of changes to the format of the event to allow more kids of younger ages to participate in the events activities. To make this event possible we rely on the generosity of the community. We rely on volunteers, donations and discounted services. If you would like to be involved with our next event in any capacity including assisting with planning prior to the event, assisting with running the event on the day, donating money or prizes, offering services, or even if you have some suggestions on how we can improve the event please contact us by email: [email protected] Thank you Rich.
