24.01.2022 SELF-IMAGE = CONFIDENCE (OR LACK OF) The relationship with ourselves and how we see ourselves has a lot to do with our self-image. Our self-image comes down to ...what we think and say to ourselves. One of the most powerful forms of self-talk comes in the form of using mantras. Its something I like to use with the athletes I work with. The word mantra has two parts (in Sanskrit): man thoughtfulness with zeal, and tra to protect. So, by saying something to yourself like I love to be challenged or I am great at this skill over and over, it starts to become a part of you, a more deeper internally grained belief. The opposite is true as well, if you tell yourself something negative like I cant do this or Im not good at math, you will eventually believe it. If you continually tell yourself something, it becomes a part of your subconscious mind. Over time, you begin to become what you keep telling yourself. How you see yourself matters more than you think! See more

21.01.2022 Hey team, just a quick update regarding all of our school programs, i have been in contact with all schools and I am just waiting for the all clear to resume our school groups in Term 3, so far all good but just still awaiting the response from a couple of schools with their Covid19 plans. I will be in contact directly with all students from term 1 and i am hoping that the majority of programs will be up and running next week. It has been a very interesting time but i do th...ink there is a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. I am really looking forward to connecting with everyone again at school, there is still plenty of options for tennis outside of our school programs. If interested please contact me to see what we can arrange for you or your children. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone again very soon, but i will be in contact directly with everyone over the next few days. Please share with your networks and let everyone know that we have been working away to provide the best practice moving forward. Look forward to seeing everyone next week, please contact me if you have decided not to continue but im very excited for next week :) See more

04.01.2022 Help shape the future of Tennis competitions in Australia. The last few months have been extremely challenging for all of us but they have also provided us time... to reflect and evaluate what is important. As part of our commitment to continually improving what we offer we are conducting a review into the tournament and competition landscape and would appreciate your feedback to help shape what it looks like in the future. The survey takes around 5 minutes to complete and will help us understand what matters most to you. Complete the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/competitiontournamentfeedback Thank you so much for your time, stay safe and we hope to see you on the court soon.
04.01.2022 WHAT COACHES REALLY MAKE: The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life. One man, a CEO, tried to explain the problem with college athletics.... He argued, Whats a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to be a coach? He reminded the other dinner guests what they say about coaches: Those who cant play, are those who coach. To stress his point he said to another guest, Youre a coach, be honest. What do you make? Having a reputation for honesty and frankness, the guest replied, (At this Coach Ridder was FIRED up and getting after it!) You want to know what I make? I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could. I make a C+ feel like a winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor. I make kids run through 90 minutes of practice and sweat. I make kids turn dreams into reality. You want to know what I make? I make kids wonder. I make them question. I make them criticize. I make them apologize and mean it. I make them cooperate. I make them competitive and respectful. I make them show all their work in front of hostile crowds and perfect their acts of sportsmanship. I make them understand that if you have the will to follow your dreams, should anybody try to judge you by a mistake you made you must pay no attention because you tried and gave it your all. I make teams from individuals who work together to build success. He paused and continued. You want to know what I make? I MAKE A DIFFERENCE, I MAKE LEADERS, I MAKE OTHER PROFESSIONS POSSIBLE. Then he asked the CEO, What do you make? The next time you are unhappy with your job because you think you are not making enough money, ask yourself:, Are you putting the intangibles you make above your bank account? I sure hope so...
