24.01.2022 Thank you for all your support. Today was amazing, we got an opportunity to share some rare exotic coffees with many who have been working from home or unable to visit the citys in Victoria. Tomorrow we have some @geshavillage lots on espresso and filter. Along with our weekly smoker @lexplans in the pit come join say hello.

24.01.2022 Hey Cool kids, Cartel Roasters in Melbourne is looking for someone who wants to do a mix of day and some evenings. To be honest it is hard to tell where things are going to sit for the moment hours wise, but our evenings and wines are definitely picking up so we're gonna need some help. Ideally this role will suit a solid all rounder with good customer service skills who's cool to work independently through busy and quiet periods. This would likely suit someone who likes to have a chat about some coffee and some wine, and can quickly jump between the workflow between the 2. Can contact me here, or email CV to [email protected]

24.01.2022 This stunning yeshi guti fruit bomb is on all weekend. So excited about letting a few more of you in to sit relax and enjoy these great coffees. @ Coffee Cartel Roasters

24.01.2022 Its on its way to you right now! Dont you worry! Soon youll be sipping on this months featured coffee by the legends at Coffee Cartel Roasters. A huge amo...unt of Cartels energy is put towards sourcing high quality, ethically produced coffee beans from around the world. These guys are deeply connected to the origins of where their beans come from, in this case the amazing Riverdale Estate india in Southern India. Thank you Cartel for being absolute legends in the industry and creating this tasty brew for us to sip on all of August! See more

23.01.2022 As Victoria gets stuck further into this pandemic, we figured rather than constant promos of Buy our stuff, we would regale you with cool Origin stories, coffee, tea & wine facts, and awesome pictures (Seriously though, buy our stuff, it helps us and helps you). Wed like to introduce everyone to Dawa. He has been our partner in Ethiopia since we first opened up. He has taken us to some of the furthest reaches of the country, including last year (2 years ago? What is time?)... all the way to Gesha Village. What many dont realise is Bench Maji is quite remote from Addis Ababa. We took a 4 day trip outside of Addis to near the border of South Sudan, encountering members of some 7 tribes, and staying through small towns, many of which are reliant on coffee as their main source of income. When we finally got to Gesha Village it was of course stunning, but what we want to reflect on is the journey. Not just that we took, but what it takes to get coffee out of the farm. Local drivers are likely more familiar with these roads, but it is a very long & turbulent way from Gesha Village to Addis (Gesha Village is mostly air lifted, not taken to Port like Guji and Yirgacheffe). Visiting Origin is fun and educational for us. However these are peoples livelihoods that we are visiting, same as when you visit a cafe and bar, youre taking a small glimpse into someones life. #ethiopia #lockdown4.0 #cartelroasters #gesha #geshavillage #melbournecoffee #geelongcoffee #Melbourne #geelong #stillopen #supportsmallbusiness #supportlocal #supportsmallfarmers #specialtycoffee #origintales #benchmaji #naturalwine #wineandcoffee @ Cartel Coffee Roasters Melbourne

22.01.2022 Our roaster of choice ! #probat. When business partners Theodor von Gimborn, Alex van Glpen and Johann Heinrich Lensing started out in 1868, they envisioned making commercial coffee roasters that would stand the test of time, consistently turning out high-quality coffee for customers of all sizes. Today, longevity and quality are characteristic not only of Probat machines, but also of the companys relationships @ Coffee Cartel Roasters

20.01.2022 1- BRAZIL COFFEE INDUSTRY This month we will focus on helping educate you on the 51, coffee-growing countries that grow coffee. We will start with the highest coffee producing countries in regards to production to the smallest. While along the journey, I can write about our experience working in some of these countries with its people its culture, and industry. Brazil is responsible for about a third of all the world coffee, which it has held top spot for over 100 years, Whi...ch makes this a powerhouse country in coffee that produced a record 3.8 million-ton crop in 2018-19. It produces about 44,200,000 60kg bags a year. Still until recently Brazil had focused on commodity coffee production though has seen a great movement of specialty coffee in that last 5 years both domestically and internationally. Coffee plantations, are huge in Brazil some covering some 27,000 km2 (10,000 sq mi), are mainly located in the southeastern states of Minas Gerais, So Paulo and Paran where the environment and climate provide ideal growing conditions. We do not have that opinion of its a country of quantity over quality. Even though it is the largest producer of commercial-grade coffee in the world, Brazil has the biggest impact on the global coffee market and last year coffee price crisis of 2019 was actually caused by an over-production of coffee in Brazil Because of this, the majority of buyers were not concerned with buying newer crop, and as such the commodity price of coffee spend more than 6 months below $1 USD well below the cost of production. This has more to do with demand for coffee than anything about Brazilian coffee. This really demonstrates Brazils power as a mover and shaker in the coffee world. Brazil has also impressively pioneered a litany of Automatic Harvesting technology. If we are going to talk about Automation on the barista front, its still worth acknowledging Brazil has been making strides in mechanically harvesting better quality coffee. Interesting fact we have never purchased or sourced brazil coffee at cartel, not for any other reason other than that our focus has been on other countries for our direct trade over the years. Our Business model h @ Coffee Cartel Roasters

19.01.2022 When your lucky to score some of the most complex coffees in the world @portofmokha we will be serving these coffees next week in @cartelroasters Melbourne and geelong x Lot PM1902 Processing Method Sun-dried natural, raised African bed Drying Time (days) 19-21 days... Variety Udaini (Ancient Typica) Farm Yunus Al Ramim Farm Altitude (m a.s.l.) 2150 masl Coffee Growing Area Size (ha.) 12 ha. Region of farm Al Hayma Al Kharajiyya District Farm Established year 1600 (estimated) Mill/Processing Center Port of Mokha Processing Center, Sanaa. Coffee is beautiful. In its earliest days it was a hidden gem. An obscure beverage consumed in the lodges and gatherings of sufi mystics in Arabia. For 150 years, starting in the 16th century, Yemen was the exclusive coffee supplier to the entire world. All coffee shipped out of the region via the Port of Mokha, on the Red Sea. Yemens unique microclimate and high elevation where coffee grew produced drought-resistant plants that yielded complex coffees with sweet, chocolatey flavors. To imitate Yemeni coffee, many coffee houses would add chocolate to drinks brewed from beans of other origins (hence the term mocha). @ Coffee Cartel Roasters

15.01.2022 Have you ever had a natural processed Kenyan Coffee? They are becoming more common, but still rather rare, as Kenya is known for its 72 hour washed process. This is a very cool project from Jamii Coffee Whos ethos is If we cant touch the farmer, we wont touch the coffee. Its part of a new wave of traceability to coffee not only in Kenya, but across many African Coffee Producing countries. What does it taste like though? Dates, Fruitcake, Red Wine We have always been pass...ionate about Natural coffees. While all coffees have intent and quality in mind, the obvious diversity of natural flavours has always been a major draw to us. We find flavour to be the best communicator of the work that farmers put into coffee. available online filter espresso or at one of our legandary wholesale accounts. bringing out some new on some new blends this week also. 11.01.2022 the importance of this industry Specialty coffee can consistently exist through the dedication of the people who have made it their lifes work to continually make quality their highest priority. This is not the work of only one person in the lifecycle of a coffee bean; specialty can only occur when all of those involved in the coffee value chain work in harmony and maintain a keen focus on standards and excellence from start to finish. This is no easy accomplishment, and yet because of these dedicated professionals, there are numerous specialty coffees available right now, across the globe, here at Cartel Roasters we can guarantee a great product from great people each having a story behind the cup. @ Coffee Cartel Roasters

06.01.2022 Have you been to @clydeparkwines one of our long time legendary partners what is interesting is Although they're two completely different substances, coffee and wine share certain similarities that go beyond affecting our overall mood. ... Aroma, body, mouthfeel, and acidity are all common words that are used by coffee and wine connoisseurs around the world. CLYDE PARK Delectably fine wine and magnificent views are what you can expect from the Clyde Park vineyard. Its locati...on on the truly unique hills surrounding the Moorabool River, thirty kilometres north of Geelong, places Clyde Park at the forefront of cool-climate viticulture. The history of Clyde Park and the Bannockburn region dates back to the 1800s when the area was first explored. The site was initially developed around 1837 by a group known as the Clyde Company. It was thought that these partners had come from the lowlands of Scotland, not far from the Clyde River. Their close proximity to the river was where the name, The Clyde Company, originated from. This group of settlers thus named the land and its surrounds, Clyde Park. See more
